  1. if she has a legitimate reason to visit and can convince the VO that she will return then sure. B1/B2 is issued as one type of visa, so if your wife can get an invite for a trade conference or exhibit then she has a better chance to get the green light. It is really how the VO feels that day and how strong a case that she can prove that she has not intention of staying. Chinese citizens have one of the worse records of breaking the visa conditions so there!
  2. My experience: if you submit everything by pdf. There is some sort of server that store them in a queue (I can only image when there is a breach or system failure what a mess it will be). There is no system or capability when you call in place for the staff to check or confirm the submittals are there. Only when the files are retrieved in the order of which they are stored then your file is "in the system." I don't get anything until 35 days or so (one year ago). Just read the NVC convention of which you name the files really carefully and pray you did not make a mistake (I did not use a lawyer). I waited for about 35 days or so but NO NSF which is the real killer. With all the immigration stunts that Obama is pulling I can imagine that wait is even longer now. Good luck.
  3. Gzo issued in March, submitted everything by April, interview early June. 427 days from April 2013 PD.
  4. And it ends tonight at the finish line at 6:50 PM , PDT, June 3rd, 2014. June 4th local time, 25th anniversary of the pro-democracy crack-down in TAM Square. Poetic!
  5. Congrats, please let us in on how long it takes to have your visa in hand. My wife is making travel plan too.
  6. On June 4, 2014. U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou approved the cr-1 for Danli on June 3rd, 20:00 Pacific time ending the 427 days journey started in April. Now I can have my life together with my love. I am so grateful and wish those who in the same boat the best!
  7. Bugger, June 4 was assigned by Guz without going thru Stanley. Anywho good luck to you!
  8. And 7 C days for notice from NVCinquiries like clockwork.....
  9. Lo and behold, along comes the notice from NVCinquiries seven days after the completion.
  10. It took about 30 C days or 20 W days for NVC to read my emails in the queue. It is fairly consistent give or take a few. In the checklist email, it was specifically stated that EP needs no cover sheets. Read it through. Good luck!
  11. Case complete! For a total of 66 days since case number, 394 days of NOA1....
  12. There is a Canadian fella that is having a hard time getting through the NVCElectronic too. I don't think race is a factor until it gets to the consolatory phase. However, being Filipino is certainly getting a break lately. Since there is high probability for fraud in GUZ it is not really a racial thing, rather, it's a credibility thing as a nation. The whole EP is over-subscribed in my opinion. It take at least 20 days to get to the end of the queue which means you have a 40 days handicap out of the bat. 20 for waiting for GZO and 20 for doc. Disclaimer: PERSONAL opinion!
  13. Seven days in the customs is not unreasonable to me. Saw it on VJ posting. Historically customs tended to delay 2 to 3 months, 1 week is unheard of. J & W on this Timeline is typical of snail mail processing --> J&W Timeline The others are very typical of eProcess. I heard you, I am just stating an opinion based on current personal experience. How accurate is it? Only NVC knows.

  15. The electronicnvc is so backed up. It is minimum 20 days for the GZO and then your pdf stuck in the queue for another 20+ days to get read. I am not even sure how their server can keep all the 10MG files for that LONG and not effued up. Mine has been with NVC since January. If the electronic processing is so backed up, will the normal mail be quicker? I called NVC again yesterday. They told me the same thing, they are still processing the emails received in March. I noticed there are a lot of people online tracking showing they received response from NVC within a week. It is funny, every time when we filed something it becomes backed up. It has been two weeks since I submitted the Electronic Processing email request. If it will take a month for them to convert. It will take another month if we are lucky to complete in NVC.The electronicing is a joke. For a government being so inefficient, are we still wondering why US is in descent? In hind sight, I am not sure why I signed up for the EP. You send out your pdf then you waited, and you waited, and you waited... No confirmation, not knowing if it arrived at its destination, and if it got lost in the big server at NVC. But they have been consistently 20 w-days behind in their reading emails from what I gather. But the no confirmation part is the most troublesome.

  17. So to avoid having to apply for Chinese visa and the fees, you rather your daughter not having an US citizenship? Really? Did you think this through? What happened to her children what she is old enough to have them and having trouble breathing or clean water becomes a luxury? Huh?
  18. I am the USC applying for my wife and I am not in your situation. But my guess is that the Consulate wants to see employment offer letter or if you are a student your curriculum and savings that your husband won't be a public charge when he gets there. Everyone who goes thru this can and will claim the intention to work but I guess that just not going to fly with the VO. Good Luck.
  19. GZO# issued after 19 days! One day after I did a second ENROLL request! Coincidental or woke someone up? you be the judge. On with the IV submission we go!
  20. Thanks for the feedback. If I were to go to the US that would be prior to my interview, so I guess they wouldn't have the chance to even cancel my tourist visa.If I stick around in GZ, do you know how long it takes on average to get the passport back? There's a chance I might need to fly out of China a few days after my interview, that's the other reason I was interested to know whether it would possible to take the passport with me after the interview and send it to them at a later date.Yet, the muddy water gets muddier. Are you black op flying In a stealth Blackhawks? If not, then a passport is highly recommended.
  21. I hate to say 'Yes' to that, since there's always the possibility that you could be denied entry, but yes, using the visa shouldn't cause you any problems. I believe others have done exactly that. My wife came visiting several times, no issues. Have your return ticket and leave request from work at hand just in case.
  22. Thanks for the reply. My wife and I are really excited after a very long wait for the I-130 due to the "backlog" created by processing the illegals. Two follow-up questions: How long will I be able to convert to EP after the request? Do I wait for the confirmation before submitting documents? I read on VJ that in the IV submittal, people scan FRONT and BACK of the passport photo and submit TWICE to avoid the checklist, really(?) It seems a little overboard what are your experiences? Thanks.
  23. Just got the case number issued: GUZ2014566XXX after two months. Peeew! Is the wheel going to spin faster? 1, pay the bill (10 days, was told) 2, DS-261 3. OPTIN Right order? TGIF indeed!
