  1. And it must be a good relief to have heard the VO say that she thinks she should have the Visa.
  2. Wish I could give some useful advice but I'm still waiting on my P3, congrats! BTW maybe you will get a better response if you post in the P-3 forum?
  3. I'm really glad you posted a thread on this! I bought a book recently thinking I should start learning how to cook authentic Chinese food. And this one caught my eye: Kylie Kwong "My China a feast for all the senses" Its a nice book showing her travels through China, along with 80 recipes, here is the first I plan to make, I'll let you know how it turned out. Stir-Fried Potato with Lup Cheong (I think la jiang?) and Green Chilli 2 large potatoes, peeled 1 medium carrot, peeled 2 tablespoons peanut oil 5 cm (2 in) piece ginger, cut into thin strips 1 teaspoon sea salt 2 lup cheong (Chinese dried sausage) or rindless bacon rashers, finely sliced 2 tablespoons shao hsing wine 1 teaspoon brown sugar 2 tablespoons brown rice vinegar 2 tablespoons light soy sauce 1 large green chilli, finely sliced lengthways 1 teaspoon sesame oil 1/4 cup water Cut potatoes lengthways into 5 mm (1/4 in) slices, then into 7 cm (2 3/4 in) strips. Use vegetable peeler to shave carrot into ribbons, then cut into fine strips. Heat peanut oil in a hot wok until surface seems to shimmer slightly. Add potatoes, ginger and salt and stir-fry for about 2 minutes, or until the potatoes are lightly browned. Add sausage or bacon and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add shao hsing wine and sugar and stir-fry for a further 2 minutes. Stir in carrot and remaining ingredients and stir-fry for about 6 minutes or until potatoes are just tender. Sever immediately. I loved eating this for breakfast at Lei's home when I visited, hope you enjoy it.
  4. Its too bad, but I think you two are level headed and I hope the best for the both of you. :-) Good luck with the next trip!
  5. That would seem to be pretty powerful stuff. I would certainly cite these two decisions if my intended got into relationship problems with the VO. I'm not sure what the legal standing is of these cases as far as citing them as part of overcome evidence but I'd sure give it a try. So they admitted they made a mistake??? WOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! lets just be glad they owned up to it, I wonder if they will let anyone who got sqrewed over this appeal.
  6. I have to agree, when I was with lei for Spring Festival I saw that several times on t.v. and wondered it my self I guess its an image thing, they want to look all cheery.
  7. We bought a "cheap" bag at one of those luggage stalls in Shenzhen to bring some of her stuff home. As I pulled it out of the trunk of the cab in our driveway the handle snapped off in my hand. They definitely are cheap, Lei gave me her bag to use on the way home because of all the stuff her mom was insisting I take with me, that handle broke off on me when I arrived in Shanghai my second trip, I was so excited to see her out of customes I dropped one bag as the other ones handle snapped making a scene, I hugged her. People were saying "too excited" We will be doing the same, just be careful. My handle left a metal stick pointing out of it.
  8. Fantastic news =) you two must be very happy! if you do have the time once shes all settled in, it would be fun to read what was asked by the VO and how your experience was dealing with GUZ.
  9. very scary! Lei was just on the bus yesterday in Shanghai ~_~ I have no idea what I would do if she was hurt, I would feel so helpless!
  10. Why would the Chinese want us to learn Mandarin? If they learn english it will be very easy for them to tell us what they want us to do when they take over america and start to run our...er...ah...their...infastructure. tsap seui They are actually funding teachers to come here, and websites to promote learning Mandarin. I remember reading an article about it in the Orgonian months back, maybe its not juast a take over, its a conversion and we arnt the borgs
  11. It doesn't matter at all who becomes President. Aside from the slacker/freeloader society we've created...US leadership dropped the ball after Nixon setup a tremendous opportunity for the USA to understand and be a key part of the future with China. They can continue to make things worse ;-)
  12. Certainly, your love of some one is! Best of luck... Try not to worry, I would double check all the copyls of my petition maybe you can find the mistake your self if there is one. I think you should get something soon, but if not just try and be prepaired. If you do get an RFE it wont be the end, just give what they want and you should be fine. Its rare that they would denie your petition.
  13. What's Mandrin? Thats hill billy speak for chicken you buy at panda express, mmmm good eatin
  14. Who becomes pres now is more important than it was in the past, it will be interesting to see how things change. I will have to work harder now
  15. Congrats! Its so good to see all the pinks! Enjoy the good life now =)
  16. Lei is currently teaching groups of two and sometimes four in her home town, shes paid 20 RMB hourly. Shes having fun and teaching English in some cases, we have contacted a few private mandarin and mixed language schools in our area and will be shooting for one of them when shes ready and able to work. Maybe she will tutor first while we are applying. :-)
  17. Congrats on you and your so! I received my NOA2 on the 23rd last month so if you want to look at my time line and guestimations on future events take a look at my signature below =)
  18. I tried using Tor on Firefox once before when Lei and I were having problems, I had installed it on her browser and never got it working O.o isn't it as simple as turning it on and then browsing or is there something I was missing?
  19. This is really bizzar, I sent letters and packages from Iraq on my deployment. Which included pictures and video's, crazy world indeed. Funny side note, she sent me letters and they all made it to me but when she sent a package she didnt put "united states" instead she put "Iraq". I'm not suprised the package never made it.
  20. The list is quite comprehensive but some doesn't said the requirement is for original or copies acceptable, e.g tax returns for the past 3 years. I would tend to believe photocopies are acceptable for tax returns. Transcipts obtained directly from the IRS are even better, they are free, will take around 10 days to get. Go to IRS.gov order them online. I've sent my request over the phone, and through snail mail. Never recieved a thing! Whats the trick? its been over a month now, not too worried my self because I have a 6 month wait here but still...
  21. You are above the current poverty line, which can be found here: http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/08poverty.shtml
  22. Just received my NOA2 in the mail! Was touched on the 19th and today the 23rd we got the good news =) I'm figuring September she will have the interview, is that a good estimate?
  23. Just got touched! Will be adding it to my timeline soon, havent been on much. Its all too much to bear just thinking about it so I'm keeping my self busy. Hope to see my NOA2 in my inbox today/tomorrow!
  24. Vista Service Pack 1 will be out soon (is out?) you can download it via Bit Torrent anyhow. It gives many many fixes and may just be the time to install. I will be building my own system here soon, my hard drive in this old lap is about to fail. Goodbye XP, we had good times ;-)
