  1. Hey Joe, I asked for my wife to have interview in Chinese at ACH when i went, and the VO said not a problem, but did ask me lots of questions on how we communicate. So make sure your girl brings plenty of evidence of communication. My wife had her interview(second interview)in June. they asked her 3 questions in Chinese ,and got pink.It seems things have changed a bit at Guz,as far as VO's go,when i went to ACH,while waiting for my number, all the VOs seemed to be decent, only one(a female)next to the window i was at,was giving someone a hard time(she seemed unpleasant). jimi
  2. There are VO's who speak Chinese, and if you ask, they will give the interview in Chinese ,but not always the case ,my wifes first interview, the VO,spoke in english and chinese.my wifes english is not that good, her first interview she was denied(white) second interview,i went to ACH,and asked for interview in Chinese,he said not a problem, but the VO asked me many questions on how do we communicate. I think GUZ is really making an issue with the English these days.If her english is poor,it would be wise for her fiancee to go to Guz and also go to the ACH,because if her english is weak,i think its going to be an issue. 3. I think GUZ gets some kind of perversed pleasure in screwing with US citizens. They finally gave me information in the visa. It is now at the post office. The only problem is they waited so long to give me an answer, I had to leave for Shanghai to catch my flight on Friday. Without further information, I made the best decision I could. It might have been weeks. So, now, I am faced with sending my fiancee back to Guangzhou to pick up the tickets. I am on the phone now trying to navigate the ticket maze with Delta. I can't change her ticket to a reasonable date. I can change mine at a steep charge. I can cancel her ticket and purchase a ticket for her (the current one is with Skymiles). I got a round trip for her because it was the most cost efficient. I am on the line with Delta. A round trip ticket will cost over $2000. I don't know exactly yet. They are killing me. A one way costs $1400. The only problem is that Delta is saying I MUST purchase a round trip ticket because she is Chinese. They are checking further into it now. Anybody know if this is a requirement? Delta has big balls, they are expensive,I was thinking about getting my wife on Delta from Shanghai to atlanta....the price they wanted was outragous(2000.00),i got her on Air China from Chongqing to New York 837.00...i never heard of any requirement, that you had to purchase a two way ticket, because she is chinese.very strange jimi
  4. Sorry to hear whats happening to you.You have luck like me....my wife waited 12 days to get her visa, was absolutely frustrating, seeing all the girls that stayed in our place, getting their visas the next day or two after their interview.I emailed so many times it wasnt funny, never one reply....i did also fax them, and still no reply....after 11 days,my wife and I both finally got emails, from the consulate, saying" sorry for the delay in answering,we were working very hard to get your visa done, you will recieve tomorrow "!!!! i had to leave also, my wife stayed on in the Hotel/Apartment,unsure what was going on. jimi
  5. I agree, and I think what the VO's fail to realize,is two people can communicate in many ways,my wife is still learning english ,and we communicate all kinds of ways,English,Chinglish,Chinese,Pocket translator, sign signals,grunts.....i havent done the smoke signals yet, hahaha but if two people want to have a relationship, they will find ways to communicate.....and if its a red flag,..VO's need to look at the emails, phone records..skype,yahoo chats.......of course one can say....are the words spoken in the emails, and chats geniune....only God knows,no human meeting a person for the first time at an interview can possibly know. The VO's have a tough job to decide it,but i think "benefit of the doubt"should be the rule.just my opinon. jimi
  6. My wifes first interview she was denied, went to window #30,and the information she got(Rudely i might add) "you was denied....non bonafide relationship" she asked why, no reason was given. They make it sound sweet and sugary, but if you get denied....you will get shit !!!........having said that,i also went to the ACH for my wifes second interview, and had a very pleasant experience, the VO i had was a 30ish white male, listened to all my concerns, typed it in the computer, and was very pleasant to talk with....the VO my wife had, when she described him,did fit the desciption of the VO i had at ACH,wheather they were the same its possible, but i don't know. Also,It seems english is becoming a big issue,....so those that are new to this journey, and your wife or fiancee doesn't speak good english, get them into english school. This topic also came up from the VO i had, when i was at ACH. jimi
  7. Correct, she is bringing items of personal nature to the USA so should have nothing to declare, so check No. Only if carrying a large sum of cash will the cash need to be declared. Another thing, most airlines have an in flight magazine, like Hemispheres on United, in the back of that magazine are instructions in many languages on how to fill out the declaration form. http://www.ink-live.com/contentFiles/image/issues/hemi-jul09.jpg Yeah, she is CR1,so just need to fill out custom form......and she is just bringing personal belongings,no large sums of money, and i think she is bringing with her some tea which i like.thats about it.And I told her,the attendants can help her,as they will speak chinese.I think she will be fine.(I"m more worried about it,then she is ) Jimi
  8. Thanks, this will help to calm her fears,i will be there to meet her when she is thru with immigrations, she will arrive in New York 2:40 pm. but i told her.....just follow the crowd getting off the plane, since everyone must go to the same place...immigrations. Jimi
  9. Congratulations !!!!!! Jimi
  10. Hi my wife is finally going to be here in USA,in 7 weeks. She will be flying from Chongqing To Bejing then to New York, where I will meet her and fly home to Tampa together. When she arrives in New York, what is the proceedure, will she have to get on a special line for new immigrants I know of course there is lines for citizen and just visitors. When she arrives,it will be 2 years we are married.so I think she gets the 10 year green card, correct me if i am wrong, anyway, just trying to get a feel for what she will have to do,when she arrives...she will arrive Air China at JFK Airport. thanks. Jimi
  11. I don't think it will affect the outcome if you don't go,but I do believe if you do go,it helps,if that makes any sense.I didnt go for my wifes 1st interview she got denied.I went to her second interview, went to the ACH,and the ACS.i asked questions, the officer put all my concerns in the computer. My wife had lots of confidence,Me being there, she happily handed to the VO my passport.....we had much to overcome,i mean the wife had a denial first time around, but her 2nd interview 2 or 3 questions was asked and that was it,she got her visa.It helps,by you being there,it shows to the VO you do care about this person. But of course if you can't be there, then what can you do.I was unable to go to my wifes first interview because i had just started a new job.so if you can't,well you can't.not to worry. Jimi

  17. The American news is freedom of speech gone way off the mark,Every news media in America has an agenda....i do not even listen to the news...why? its all the same ....bad news !!! if you even decide to believe it,it is like listening to a liar, why listen, you know they are lieing. As far as a new president.....its the same ol'same old....nothing new....don't put your faith in politicians....live your life and be happy, happiness can be found in any part of the world, doesn't matter where you are.Enjoy life, don't worry, someday the economy will improve,is going to take some time, because the genius's in the white house, not all that smart.when the people decide to not put their faith in politicians, and decide they will be happy,it will be the people who will change this economy and turn it around.....thats what America is all about.....the people........the people have made this country great, all peoples of all countries,religions,color.....and while we do have idiots here in America who are racists, the majority are not.....America,China..........doesn't matter, enjoy life where ever you are.........,just my thoughts. have a happy 4th Jimi
  18. HEY WAY TO GO !!!!!! GLAD TO HEAR THIS NEWS.......I WAS WONDERING TODAY HOW YOUR GIRLS INTERVIEW WENT....GREAT NEWS !!!!!!!!
  19. Congratulations for your pink. My K-1 was denied in Sep. 2008. We hope we'll have the CR-1 interview in August. Did you complele the evolution letter in hand writing? Does it need to be notarized? What else do we need to pay attention to prepare the interview? Thanks. Mei I don't know if the evolution of relationship letter ,needs to be notarised or not.but i got mine notarized at the ACS,(I typed mine) and they do read it,they found a mistake on mine,(i did it as a timeline).i had one of the dates wrong....they asked if i meant to put that date...i said NO !!! they had me change it and inital it.So,if your in Guz for the interview,go to the ACS(make an appointment),and get it notarized.... jimi
  20. Hey Stephen, Wow !!!! thanks, this is the cheapest so far, round trip ticket 905.00,from tampa to shanghai, and shanghai back to tampa (florida),i think "delta airlines "smoking something.....2052.00 ONE WAY....chengdu4me makes a good point, why one way is more expensive than 2 way......but doubled the price? the wife is also looking at her end in China, some good prices also, but we are having a hard time finding flights that land somewhere close to Florida, very good prices going to Los Angeles,or San Francisco, and not bad prices to New York. But then we have to fly to Tampa Florida,we were hoping Atlanta, which is close to Tampa....but Delta....does this route, and they are way too high in price (frankly, there service sucks, the last time i went on delta). So,i am thinking meeting my wife in New York.then fly together to Tampa.jet blue very cheap flights from new york to tampa. jimi for fun,i put into the search engine, for just one way ticket, yes....1205.00 for the same return flight, same airline, time etc.....,will cost me 300.00 more than buying a 2 way ticket......

  22. Ah i didn't know it only had one seat left...wow ,i guess business is good then,if its already sold out in june for an August flight....no need to sell cheap tickets, when people are paying top dollar for them.Good idea about the two way ticket, return date far out in the future, but then i still will have the dilema, when the wife returns back to USA,they will screw me ,with a one way ticket more money than the two way ticket....hahaha......
