My two girls just came from Hong KOng yesterday 3/30/08 and they did not pay any extra for two "heavy bags" a piece!! They also had two carry on packages and a purse each!! Mark and the new family!!

3 questions? 3 days? but 3/16 was a sunday, isn't EMS not open on Sundays? I was asking that just because she went to pick up on 3/16, didn't necessarily mean it wasn't ready on Sat, 3/15, maybe it was just because she was in Shenzhen so couldn't go as soon as the visa was ready to be picked up. So after the Wed. interview, I should book the Sunday flight back just to be safe, huh? But EMS doesn't open on Sunday! no??? Going to Guangzhou on Tues. morning isn't too late? What preparations did you have to do when you guys got there, Mark? Stayed at Mr. Yang's or other place? She got it on Sunday Amy!! Stayed at other place............ B)

The list is quite comprehensive but some doesn't said the requirement is for original or copies acceptable, e.g tax returns for the past 3 years. I would tend to believe photocopies are acceptable for tax returns. Transcipts obtained directly from the IRS are even better, they are free, will take around 10 days to get. Go to IRS.gov order them online. If I requeste the transcipts thru IRS, I won't be able to get that for tax year 2007 as I have yet to file for the 2007-1040. Here are what I'm planning to have. Let me know if they look ok or am I missing anything - Tax returns from 2005-2007 (copies) - Bank letter (original & notarized) - Bank statements from the most recent 3 months (copies) - Employment letter (original) - Pay stubs from the most recent 3 months (copies) - Letter stating our relationship and intention for marriage (original & notarized) - Telephone records for the most recent 3 months (copies) - plus evidence showing my recent visits to China, which includes copy of visa stamps on my passport, receipts for hotels, shopping & etc. And obviously the pictures of ourselves together. Whats the trick? its been over a month now, not too worried my self because I have a 6 month wait here but still... Call again, we never had a problem!! You did file your taxes last year?? B)

My interview's on a Wed, I'm trying to book the tickets. do you think going there on Tues. morning is not too late? (I'm doing both the medical and visa fee in SH.) And will visa be ready to pick up by Sat. morning? See, I'm already thinking PINK and will ONLY accept pink. ;-) According to their timeline in the spreadshheet, interview was 3/13- pick up was 3/16 Something like that Rob.......................

My feng got her visa on Sunday after the Thursday interview, took the two hour train ride five times to make sure everything was just right!! iray, look at my time line, a few days shy of 2 months after we returned the P-3 back to GZU!! A few have been even quicker, you got the early and late part of the month thing going on!! Mark and feng!!

Hey Pete, relax and you will do fine......... We had originals of the employment letter, pay stubs, banl letter, and had gotten IRS transcripts for free in about 2 weeks time. The letter from bank is enough, deposit stuff opens you up for too many questions!! Phone records, we did not get asked for them we had stacks of yahoo and MSN e-mails, and we had talked on MSN often. The VO barely looked at our 134 or e-mails?? Letter of relationship is usually for over come appointments, never asked for, but she did have one just in case!!! Mark, feng, daughter, and 2 sons!!

you don't get the medical result envelope right after the physical and have to go back to the hospital to pick it up after a few days? So how many days before the interview should I plan to have this physical???!!! Do need to prepare all the documents to bring to the physical though. Gee, I can't believe how "Efficient" GUZ people are, make those doctors review visa forms for them. @_@ Amy, is the flower just too tight or are you getting nervous?? My feng took the train to GZU about 10 days before the interview, paid the fees, and got her medical all in the same day, so relax. Anything else just PM me and will try to help anyway I can. We get back to the USA, Sunday at 2:20 Chicago time!!

Hey Michael, good question!!! We are going to do the following: -State ID -ssn# -add to bank account -health and dental insurance -life insurance and my beneficiary -add card to my Discover easy to do -YMCA/gym memebership -get married, license or something like that -utilities, a pain - cell for both my girls and their own account numbers -reciepts for work gloves and clothes!!!! Just kidding honey -Just in time to add my girls to the church register and have pictures taken for it -ESL classes and receipt for them Most just normal stuff I am doing anyway, hope it helps and hope all is well, be starting on Sunday to cach up to you and the Mrs.!! B)

American consular personnel have not yet been granted access to the TAR or other affected areas, and therefore assistance to American citizens in those areas may be limited. It will be interesting to see where this goes??

The police certificate is the one that GZU seems to like to be the "newest" the rest 12 months or less you are OK! B)

Check the boxes and get it all ready to turn in when you go to GZU. My feng also got her medical 2 weeks before the interview!! The other stuff needs to be current, less then 6 months and the VO will then take it when you check in during the morning of your interview! Mark, feng, daughter, and 2 sons!!
