  1. I feel that things will work out if you follow through with the blue slip requests. People get the blue slip quite often and once they follow through with the requests, they usually get their visa. I hope very much the same will happen with you. I hope you get your visa. I think you will. -good luck
  2. It is beyond me, Stats, why it has taken so long for your wife to get her registration card when people get them every day. I just can't fathom it, the hoops you have to jump through but I do admire your determination and sincerely hope you make some positive headway in this arduous path you have to go down. Good luck to you and I for one will be anxiously awaiting the very good news that will come one day. Good luck, my friend.
  3. Now that wasn't so bad, was it???... Congratulations!
  4. Many Chinese use their work address instead of their address at home to receive mail. You'll be okay using her work address unless she wants you to use her home address. -good luck
  5. Changing jobs won't have any affect on you or your case as early in the process that you are. It's changes in address that can be more of a concern. You're okay. -good luck
  6. Grab a bag of cheetos!................ -good luck
  7. Cool, Pete! I like the photos and comments about the city. My wife had set up a trip to SZ on a tourist bus. She told me about it the night before but I thought she meant just taking a public bus and not a guided trip to SZ. Anyways, I went along with it. I said, why not? Let's go for it. So we did. A bus full of Chinese and I'm the only "lao wai." There's alot to talk about pertaining to this trip but for the most part it was fun. We got to see Shen Zhen.
  8. Mr. Yang's place sounds like the place to be since the IV unit moved from Shamian Island. When they were still at the American consulate on Shamian Island, we stayed at the International Seamen's Club across the river opposite the White Swan hotel.
  9. Go here, to the SEG Plaza The top floor is so cool! Have fun!
  10. Do you happen to remember why it was good for you? All my life I drank cold water and I'm still alive and kicking. It's just another cultural difference between people from the west and people from the east. My wife is the same. She only drinks warm water and had been doing that all her life. What kind of medicinal worth can be involved in drinking water either way? It's only "H2O"! Water out of a river isn't hot. Who cares if you're dying of thirst...
  11. It also says in the instructions that you can submit photo copies if you are sponsoring more than one intending immigrant listed on the same affidavit of support. That should clear things up! It's just a requirement that a I-864 must be filed with every I-130 petition sent in.
  12. It makes perfect sense because they, (1)your wife and (2)your daughter, are petitioned seperately. One makes 4 and another makes 5. 1 and 1 does make 2 and not 11.
  13. Fill out line #9 just as it says, listing any and all children but you still need to submit form I-130 for any and all children because unlike the nonimmigrant K visas, the immigrant visas IR2/CR2 does not have derivative status. A word of caution: make sure the information about the child that you put on your wife's petition is exactly the same as you put on the child's petition. Any discrepancy will most certainly cause a delay.
  14. I assume it's the I864 AOS you're talking about because a I-860 does not exist. You will need to submit two (2) I-864 forms, one for each of them. It is in the INA therefore it is law. Each I-130 submitted will require a I-864 to follow it. You are petitioning for two visa applicants.
  15. All a person can do is present what they ask for and hopefully get the visa. If not, if you get another blue slip, then do what it says and try again. Hopefully that won't happen. Try to be positive and confident that you will get the visa. I hope you do get the visa and I'm sure you will! -good luck
  16. Welcome to Candle, Larry. It sounds like maybe your first letter of evolution was too long and detailed and now they are asking for a more direct and concise letter; a ONE page brief. That would be my guess because I have read here on Candle about the same thing you are mentioning and I remember something about having a short and breif letter. As been mentioned, only give them what they are asking for, no more;no less. To answer your question, it looks like simple overcome but of course, there are no guaranties. It looks simple enough, though. Let us know how it turns out. -good luck
  17. It sounds okay to me, heyjimi. Afterall she is your wife. Help her out! -good luck Also,... great replies!
  18. This is a gray area. As long as you married within 90 days after her entering the country you won't have any problem if you file for AOS after the 90 day period. I wouldn't drag my feet too long though. I agree with Carl. I've read cases where people didn't file the I-485 after being married for two years and passed their interview with only a slap on the hand by the IO. Maybe they were lucky because I don't know what another IO would do in the same case so I wouldn't wait too aweful long.
  19. Yeah, don't worry about it. I've never seen where they were asked for by immigrations officer at the POE, much lese the consulate. I think the x-ray is an old requirement still on the books therefore, still required. Only a radiologist can read it so it is never asked for by the officers unless there's suspicion of a medical problem like TB.
  20. Both posts above are correct. DCF may be the way you want to handle it if you're still in China.
  21. Is that the US consulate in China or the US My wife arrived here under a CR1 program Will the K-3 apply to her daughter. ANd Pleas tell me what is the AOS. Do I need the CR2? Your wife needs to file the I-130 for her daughter. That's about all she can do or all that can be done. File it soon!
  22. Congratulations on the interview date! B)
