On some of the 001 people's data I'm "filling in." If their case left NVC about the same day and they got their P3 about the same time I'm inferring that they were in the same DHL batch together. It's actually kind of hard to collect accurate data because people perceive things happening a little differently. It's the I say "tomaaato" you say "tomaiito" syndrome. The definitions of each step in this process are not very clear. None-the-less, I think this spreadsheet is the most accurate measure we currently have for P3's. And it'll be pretty worthless in another 30 days. It would be a big job to keep it up to date.

I have to say, in general I think they actually ARE processing cases in order received at the consulate. It's just that ours - you, bobby and me - have been misplaced somehow. If you look at the numbers they correlate really well with a FIFO system. Except us. I spoke to my lawyer today and she said that in other consulates groups of cases are assigned to individual workers. She doesn't know if GZ operates this way but, if they do, maybe this is the source of the problem. Maybe our boxes ended up on the messiest desk... Who knows. I'm trying to take a particular tact in my contact with GZ and DOS. I'm saying to them, "Here's my data. I think it suggests that some cases have been either misplaced or lost somehow." My problem just seems to be finding someone who give a sh*t.

I know what happened. I was trying to filter out the noise of shipping delays. It'll be cleaner information if we can get the dates GZ actually mailed things out rather than when P3's were received.

I'm finally getting somewhere with the data. But now I'm having trouble finding anyone in any place of authority whom I can get this stuff to. I was soooo incredibly polite to this woman and she was so rude to me.

I'm also trying to get confirmation as to whether MarryLand and xiaoxiaosh received their P3's. If this is the case here's what I think has happened. Big Oct shipments came in from NVC and buried the smaller Sept shipments. Older shipments, like the Aug 6 delivery, managed to get processed as FIFO. Then the Sept deliveries got buried by Oct stuff. After that they processed the older Oct stuff before ever finding the older Sept cases. As far as I have confirmed there are only three of us who have older cases and have not received P3's. Francine-gg, Bobby and myself.

Actually, I wonder if that's why now there are multiple DHL numbers now. And that may explain why some shipments (like mine) was signed for at GZ practically the next day.

I'm uncovering some info on how often shipments actually leave the NVC. Between all the 001 and CFL cases I have information available for there are only 17 shipment dates for 33 cases over a 16 week period. If this snapshot holds true statistically it would suggest that NVC sends out cases approx once a week. It seems this is usually on a Friday. Forty percent of the cases were shipped on a Friday.

What I see is that, when they open a box they do those cases. In general there's a correlation between the NVC ship date and P3, except the fact that there are all these missing P3's as you go down the line. I guess what I think I'm seeing is, if they open your box you get processed. If the don't, you don't.

Exactly. They are doing FIFO once you're in their system. They are not doing FIFO with the boxes that are delivered by DHL. You can see the box that arrived on 8/6 was opened and processed. The box delivered on 10/23 was opened and processed. The boxes delivered on 9/8 and 9/11 have not been opened. If I can get all this data filled in I'm sure I can rattle some people's cages.

Here are a couple spreadsheets I'm using to try to make sense out of this mess. I'm really good at Excel but I'm still a web novice. If you look carefully at the rec'd at GZ dates and the P3 dates you start to see some similarities. You can almost see which boxes have been opened and processed, which have been opened and not completely processed, and which have not been opened at all. ...And I'll tell you this, it ain't first-in/first-out. If I can get the DHL information for all these NVC ship dates and the information from the remaining P3 Pit Crew, I think I will have some decent information to go on the attack with.

Jerry, I can't quite make out what each of these columns is. I see P2. What's NVC1/4? And is the 3rd column P3 or are these all people waiting for P3?

Add one more item to that: Are you K1 or K3.

If possible I would like to collect some data on our little P3 Pit Crew... 1) Date NVC shipped your case to GZ 2) DHL tracking number 3) Date of delivery to GZ (according to DHL) 4) Date P3 was received (if you have received yours) 5) Your CFL name, only (trying to keep things private) I would like to collect these and put them into a spreadsheet (I can do magic with Excel!!). If anyone can get similar information from people on the 001 site it would be helpful. The point of this would be to, 1) confirm for ourselves that cases are not being done in order received, and 2) to have some detailed information by which GZ or DOS can look into the matter if we're right. I'd prefer not to use the k1k3 data as it's spotty and not verifiable.

I've got absolutely nada. And I feel exactly the same way.

It's all one big happy bureaucracy. When I called DOS (the same number JerryL noted) they called themselves the "visa division." When I inquired about my case they called NVC to check up on it. NVC doesn't seem to have information on GZ whereas the DOS visa division does. Still they couldn't tell me anything.

I would have to disagree. I've been to China to visit my wife six times this year. It's absolutely heart-wrenching everytime you have to leave. I honestly think, if you love someone, there is no substitute for having them with you every day.

It's kind of funny to think back about the NVC now. The "good" thing about the service centers and NVC is, at least you know where your case is. They're not going to tell you anything else, but you know they have it. GZ just outright lies and says they don't have your case. Right now, if for some reason our case WAS actually lost somehow, we would have absolutely no way to track it down. That is just wrong, plain and simple.
