For a case at NVC "just" 6 weeks would be appropriate phrasing. Honestly, if you look around on the site here you'll see most people have waited FAR longer than that. If your case cleared in 6 weeks, you're smokin' through the system, dude!

Oh! I'm getting excited. Congrats! I'm hoping this is good news for all the P-3'ers!!

I think we're up to 8 in the P-3 pit crew. Patrick&Li JerryL Bob & Minglian Robhon Bobby Francine-gg karen&ivan keelec

mikem, Yeah, I been there, buddy. It sounds like you're still in the security check phase. Our case was there for 4 1/2 months. I've heard of people being stuck in that phase for less time and more time. There's no telling where you will fall. Keep calling them!

Here's our little "pit crew" as posted on the previous P-3 thread: Patrick&Li JerryL Bob & Minglian Robhon Anyone else waiting on a P-3 who wants to join the club? And I have a question... Have any of you received a letter from the NVC confirming that your case was forwarded to GZ? We got a verbal confirmation but never received any correspondence. It has me a little concerned.

Gigibebe, Really, I'm only trying to get a better sense of what people's current timelines are and put them in a more rational perspective. I see lots of people here whose timelines are all similar to mine and, here on CFL, I've not seen anyone here whose timelines have been significantly shorter. With the varied ways that people choose to state things I think the whole topic of timelines becomes easily confused. So, I pose the same question to you. How many weeks was it from the day you sent in your I-129F until you received your P3? (I use the I-129F because that is the start of visa process. The I-130 is the start of the immigration process.) Is that how you are counting your two months? You may think I'm getting all upset over the situation but I'm really not. I know some people get through faster and others slower. I'm really just trying to make an effort to make sure we are comparing apples to apples as we discuss this topic.
-
And I think I counted ours wrong before. I think we're at 40 weeks since sending in our I129F. So far we have a 48, 40 and a 37. All basically in the same general neighborhood.
-
That would put you at 37 weeks.

I'm still skeptical. If there were people on Candle who were randomly getting super fast turnaround maybe I wouldn't be so skeptical. I just don't see that happening here. Is there any reason only people on 001 would get priority? I don't think so. Often I think there is confusion in how people define their timelines and the steps along the way. And confusting the issue further are people who get onto these sites and post erroneous information. We are at the 10 month mark now. Most others I see here waiting are somewhere in that same neighborhood. Maybe that's a good question for all of us in the "P3 Pit." Would everyone in "the Pit" (defined as: your case has been forwarded from NVC via DHL and is showing as received at the GZ consulate, but don't have a P3 yet)... would you post how long it's been since you first sent in your I129F. For us it has been 42 weeks.
-
I don't understand how this would make a difference. The service center part of our filing went through in a matter of 6 weeks. I know on the old system you'd receive a P3 shortly after NOA2 but new system? Even at that it sounds like yours went very fast, Gigibebe. Six months start to P4 is smokin'! Do you have your visa already?

It's possible. Maybe the beneficiary is the neighbor of the best friend of the cousin of some guy who works in the mailroom... Jerry What I don't buy it that her case got through all the FBI/DOS/NVC in, what, less than a month... I don't care how many cousins and friends you have, there are several different offices and agencies handling these cases. You'd have to have a pretty extensive network in GZ and Washington to get though this process. Color me skeptical but I don't even quite buy that people in Shanghai know her. This is so over-the-top unusual that I'd have to see real paperwork to believe it. This all kind of harkens back to some of the claims made by AOF a couple of months ago.
-
Whoops! That was actually two months NOA2 to P3. But I still don't believe it.
-
I don't know about this.... This just seems too far over the top. One month from NOA2 to P3? That's gotta be a hoax. I don't believe it for a minute.
-
Hmmm... These replies make me wonder what date THEY go by. Is GZ going to look at the date NVC forwarded the case or the date DHL delivered it? The common thread I see with all of us is that our cases all arrived at GZ the same week. Sept 8 to Sept 12. Is there anyone else out there waiting on P3?

GZ consulate to suspend interviews
robhon replied to Francine-gg's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Exactly! Anyone who knows manufacturing and process management will tell you just how WRONG this is. It's absolutely the slowest way to get things done. -
We've been waiting since Sept 8.

Excellent!! You can't believe how happy I am for your whole new family. ...Family of three, soon to be four.

She's practically on the plane. I can feel it in my bones. -
Dave, you're welcome to come back into The Pit with us if you want. We're all down here aspiring to be like you, stressing out over our coming interview. Ahhh, it would be so fine to experience such stress... <sigh> B)

My ex-wife was an Irish citizen who over stayed her student visa. In fact, I think she was a good 4 or 5 years out of school, and therefore illegal, when we were married. We had no problems at all getting her a green card. ...At least no problem out of the ordinary that you would expect when dealing with the, then, INS. Consult a lawyer then go to Reno and nuptualize that gal. Real quick like.
-
Just thought of this. It seems we have a whole hoard of people here who've been cleared by the NVC and are waiting for their P3. I'm sure it's nothing compared to the old "black hole gang" but a difficult situation for all of us none-the-less. Therefore I dub this new ordeal "The P3 pit." Here's wishing each and all of you escape the pit soon!

Internet cafes to be more regulated
robhon replied to warpedbored's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
If safety was a real concern they would also be cracking down on all the Mah Jong parlors as well. ...I don't see that happening any time too soon. In fact, I'm trying to think of one place where people congregate in China where I felt it wasn't a safety hazard... Hmmmm. McDonald's, maybe. -
waybill number for August 29th
robhon replied to tywy_99's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
It's a horribly random process as well. My case was apparently shipped on Sept 5 (Fri) and arrived at the consulate on Sept 8 (Mon). At least that's how DHL reports it. -
Internet Cafe proprietor claims.....
robhon replied to Patrick & Li's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
I'd have to add, I think the internet is a fantastic way to meet your one true love. When we're in college it's so easy to "hook up." You meet new people every semester. You're there with lots of other singles of the same or similar age. It's almost too easy. Move on to the workplace. You try to take your job very seriously. You know how complicated it can get if you're dating within the office! You know how wierd it gets when someone else is dating the boss. If you've moved to a new city for a job, as most people do now, then the people you end up hanging out with and making friends with are office people. It's a scene where suddenly your dating opportunities diminish significantly. For myself it was even more complicated than that. I started my own business. I often worked 100+ hour weeks. The only people I ever had contact with were my own employees. The last thing I ever wanted to do is screw up what I'd worked so hard for by dating an employee. (My ex-wife was actually a former employee whom I started dating after she left the company.) The internet was a godsend for me after I got divorced. After several years of searching on the dating sites I'm confident I've found the woman I will be with the rest of my life. Certainly confident enough to have a child with her. MoonCarolCafe, I'm not directing this at your original comment. I just wanted to add a couple cents on the topic.
