Im Michigan also and yes you take a written test. Then the give you a learners permit and you practice with someone driving (started in empty parking lots) till your ready to take road test. After I got my wife far enough so she was getting used to the controls and car somewhat go to a driving school. For the sake of my marriage I did and happy wife happy life ever since. Hint ,you can go to a driving school and same instructor will do state driving test also. Just look on sec of state website and find approved testing centers and most are schools too

We did the same as dan ling with name address and phone number. In the instructions it even says date and place of birth. did not get notarized. just got our noa1 last week but im sure its fine not notarized. we sent them letters from3 different people

Don't worry too much it will all work out. either way when you get their letter just send them eveything they ask for (extra info or entire package). I assume you filed EAD and AP at the same time so will get work athorization and travel permission in 2 to 3 months or so (about 1 to 1.5 months after you do biometrics) if not file those too it does not cost any more to do it at the same time as your 485.

ours took a little over 2 months to get letter for Biometrics and almost 1 month after that for the appt: . most do go faster than that from what i have read. it took over 7 months total to finally get her green card (with her name wrong on it so we have to send back) but most do seem to go faster than ours. If you don't get your Bio appt: letter soon call the number on your receipt letter and ask about it.

For me and my fiance it took a little over 2 months for a blue sheet. We were approved in the end. Wish you all the best of luck.

To keep as short as i can. K-1 fiance visa california service center NOA1 May 31 , NOA2 Aug. 26, 34 days in AP at NVC, interview Dec. 24 blue slip (darn AP again), phone interviewed me first week of Feb. , visa in her hands March 10. It's been a long road and in one week i pick her up from the airport. Happy day , happy day. Thank you to all who have helped along the way.

I am glad to see them at least do this. For the most part they have been known to simply deny the visa if they question bonafide relationship. Sound like they are making improvements in how they treat this and are at least questioning the petitioner. I agree totally. I am more than happy to answer any questions they had. I have no problem at all with them calling me. They were nice and very polite also. Of course they do not give any answer though. I am guessing (hoping) i will hear something in the next couple weeks.

If what i am thinking is right the police report is good for one year so we don't need to get new one unless AP takes a more than 3 or 4 months. Yes, side effects like that could really sneak up and bite a couple. Thanks , if not for all you people and forums like this most people would really be going through this process blind. Just talked with my SO. All I can figure out is, she did not understand what my job title was in 1994, "Supervisor/diemaker". I be the VO does not know what a diemaker is. Does anyone here know what a diemaker is? Difficult to believe we receive a white slip for 1 misunderstood question. The VO has the power to deny just because his breakfast was too cold. Just have to start all over. sorry to hear about your situation. If was me i would go With CR-1 also but i only know enough to get myself in trouble most of the time. By the way i know exactly what a diemaker is, a friend of mine is a diemaker. When i tell him a measurement like about a quarter inch it drives him crazy.

Ok well i don't understand everything about this process but i do have a decent idea about everything. So i could call NVC and ask what the AP was about? We are not upset but just surprised and it took a few days to set in. I called DOS today and all they said is it is in AP. They did not show it was sent to Washington though. As far as the questions they asked just basic things how many visits , how long we have known each other, when we met , what i do for a living, etc. They did ask about my divorce ,when it was final (before i ever met my fianc¨¦) and if she knew where my ex lives. I do not even know where my ex lives now, just somewhere near Indianapolis. The interview itself she said went very well every question they asked she answered correctly and the interviewer said everything looked fine and also said her english is very good. The only thing he asked for was a copy of my passport at interview and she had already gave it to them so he found it and said ok. I am still very optimistic about everything though. We will only consider a CR-1 if she ends up with a white slip because we do want to get married and we will we just don't know when we can ,YET. I do thank everyone for there thoughts and good wishes . It helps. Hopefully it will fall in the historical trend of AP. I do not hear any fat lady singing yet.

I think the interview is tomorrow Dec 28th Sam it is the 28th in China Yes 5 AM Well it is 9:20 in China now, I think I should hear something by 11:00 pm our time. I am sure worried about this CCP think, but she is ready for anything. The Yang's said she had everything in good order, and then some, so I have been praying all day, I just came back from services. I will post as soon as I get word. Waiting for that phone to ring seems to take forever when you know she at her interview.I couldn't sit in one place. (got blue) and she said she saw a lot of blue and whites given out that day. She only saw 2 people get pink that day. I would think there was more but she only saw 2 out of the people she talked to. The lady who gave my fiance white slip was wearing red outfit on that day. did your fiance had the same person?? My fiance had a guy interview her so not the same person. I know what you mean about the waiting being the worst part. From what other people think about my case is we will just be given a white after we wait for their decision on our blue slip (put in AP). If that is true i wish they would have just done it at the interview. So it looks like i will be in same position as you after waiting ,well nobody knows but could be many months or more

I haven't read anthing about your AP blue issues as of yet. Did they ever tell you why you had to wait 32 days in NVC? What was the reson? AP is additional processing. They will not say exactly what it is and they always say there is no time frame for AP. My fianc¨¦ said at interview the person told her everything looked fine with the paperwork but needed AP. We had pics, e-mails ,phone records , letters etc. She is pretty good with her english also ( she helped a few people at the Yangs by doing a little translating for a couple people while she was there) The Yangs and everyone that was staying there said they thought she had a very solid case and they were all shocked as well that she got blue. I've read if your spouse Is CCP she can write a letter about why she is. I think it is something you can overcome but they may put you in AP also. I have read that it is name check sometimes like FBI check's and background check's but it still mostly a mystery Administrative Processing is just a term they use as a catch all, the same as Non Bonafide relationship. Sometimes during an interview the interviewer will catch a detail that the NVC in the US did not and will send it back to the US for additional review, it's never a good sign because the interviewer caught something that the NVC did not. Now that doesn't mean that your beneficiary, your fiancee has done anything wrong or will destined to be denied the visa but they want to double check everything to be sure. If your fiancee has a common family name in China that could be a cause, another is a CCP member, but it's best to be honest about the CCP membership. My wife was also a CCP member at the time of her interview and she was given the visa on the first try.
