I agree.. I think given the opportunity and a little coaxing.. the media can be very helpful. I sent the CNN producer an email this morning thanking him personally, but from a group to CNN - maybe it will motivate them to do a followup story?

I just wanted to share my thoughts with everyone here about my perception of the CNN segment shown last night. I thought overall, CNN did a very good job. Please understand that the actual taped interview time was at least 30 minutes worth of footage. In that time, I tried to touch on all facets of our plight, including those of you who are already married and are waiting for your families. My publicist, who prepped me before the interview told me that if in the end I was on the show for a mere 10 seconds, I would be doing good. So with that in mind, I tried to keep the bitching to a minimun and the information flow to a maximum. Alot of footage never made it to the segment shown, but many positive parts did - so overall I am happy with it. I hope you all were too. NoFamily.com was nice enough to create a video of it. I feel its time to come out of the closet...I havnt to this point as I was concerned that my good news would piss you guys off. I agree with kiffie totally. I had called Ms. Harty in mid December and plead my case. Somehow, someway (act of God?), GZ called my fiance at home on the 19th and asked her how soon she could come to Guangzhou to pick up her visa. My fiance told them she hasnt received her EMS letter yet and was afraid the Consulate would not let her in. So GZ faxed it to her 5 minutes later, then called back to confirm receipt. That afternoon she flew down to GZ. The following morning she dropped off her passport. When she got there, the guard at the gate knew her by name when she gave him her passport - the security guard knew about her!! That is just crazy. That afternoon she picked up her visa and will be here the 15th. I apologize for not sharing this earlier - but I didnt for two reasons... the first being that all of it happened so fast that I really feared I would jinx it! The second, is I know some of you have waited longer than I (not by much though).. and I didnt want to upset anybody. I have not taken my fortune for granted and have made the decision that I will continue to keep visadelays.com up to date and monitor these forums to see if I can help anyone....

Dave Fitzpatrick (Producer for the Arron Brown show) just called me and told me that unless the world ends before 10pm EST - that CNN will air the immigration segment tonight on the Arron Brown show on CNN. I thought it was very considerate for him to personally call me - so I think tonight will actually be the night!!

You are referring to the news story and not my post, right?

Surprised? I have found that when things move within the policies of our government - they move very slowly - or not at all. Its only through exceptions and mistakes that things run 'normally'.

I am only suggesting a course of action that worked for me. I tried both avenues, and the DOS/CA route effected change on my case, where GZ was useful only for correspondence.

I started this as a new thread because it is important (at least I think so) that all of you see my opinion Harrassing GZ by fax/email/etc. will serve no purpose in getting your loved ones here any sooner. Not because it slows them down, they have seperate people who process correspondence. But simply because they are merely pawns on the chessboard of immigration. They take their orders from the Kings and Queens. If you are to devote that much energy, focus it on the Kings/Queens (DOS/CA) - as they are the only ones that will provide the focus and resources to GZ and to the expediting of the Name Check processes which is really the problem, not GZ.

I agree with the bum ...my Fiance actually became ill due to the stress of the uncertainty... but her love never waivered and I really believed she would wait 5 years if need be..and longer!

I humbly propose that to meet the ends your seek, nobody is better qualified to get you there, then you! Lawyers are good at filling out forms and interpreting the law. If you are patient and thorough, you can 'interpret' the law just as well. To get results (your loved ones here), its not a matter of representation - its a matter of intensity. If you scream, kick, yell, and poke people in the eye, you will get your family here.... a lawyer will not do that!

One as no idea who you are unless they know " Paul & Qing " on visa delays is in fact "smorgarsboard"on CDL Get it? For entries who use they real first names on CDL, this is not an issue of course... I got it!!!! OK, I will add that field..and i will have to add the capability to edit that stuff too so you guys can update it. I'll get that done first thing in the morning.
