I think our problem is more of a priority issue. Maybe they dont have the ability to realize what is a priority. That would explain the substandard performance. We need to make it their priority to do these visas before another 30-90 days pass. A major writting campaign is needed now! -

Thank you James! This is a situation that will not cure itself. Im tired of the promises, blundering, mis-handled, mis-managed, incompitent way this whole thing has been handled. Untill they deside to really get serious about this, they will just keep feeding us from the dog dish on the floor. Good boy, here is your bone, now go away. This is how I feel. They need to hear from each and every one of us. Not in a malice or malicious way, only as concerned individuals seaking a swift resolution to a problem. -
If you want something done! Call CA (Harty), Fax CA (Harty), Call Powell's office, Fax Powell's office. The info line is for info, if no info, then no info. GZ can't do anything except say not finished. Same as Info line. If you want action, call the RIGHT PEOPLE. The people who tell the info line and GZ what to do. Harty & Powell are the movers and shakers. If they don't hear from you, do you think GZ or info line is going to call and tell them (Harty & Powell) you called for info again? NOPE! Hasn't happend yet! Aint gonna happen folks! Untill these people really get the word we want these visas, it will be a back burner situation. All the numbers are here in this site.

question on namechecks
markimwaiting replied to dave's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Owen, The old name check submittal before Nov 1 is what I think after 90 days will just sit there collecting eletronic dust. They do, buy law after the aloted time (30 days now) and no respomce from DOS, must determine weather to issue a visa or send it back for resubmittal. If you are talking to GZ, they will tell you what they want you to hear. If you ask GZ to resubmitt, of course they will tell you it doesnt have to be, more work for them. If It doesnt need to be resubmitted, then it should have been finished my now. It does not take over 6 months for this process. The reason for resubmittal is a computer format entry change. It is in the GAO report. A copy of the GAO report is on visadelays.com, good reading. Untill the resubmittal is done under the new computer entry format, they will just sit there. -
When KandY is on line here, ask him. he set this up. Also I think the format does need to be JPG, check to make sure, or maybe it was BMP, I cant remember.

question on namechecks
markimwaiting replied to dave's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
If the clearance does not come back cleared in 30 days, they are to resubmitt it. Before Nov. 1 it was 90 days. Also the system is still being stream-lined -
flychina.com They have always done a great job for me at a good price.

Owen, This is truely a dilemma in GZ. I personally dont think they have a clue as to how to fix this mess, or maybe the meeting was about how to fix it. Either way, someone should be managing the phone to help people. This type of management would never fly in the business world. As I said before, The name checks are not lost, they are just not being re-submitted. During the first part of Nov. all the names were being re-submitted but was put on the back burner or black hole to clear the mass 5100 clearances that DOS sent to GZ. We all need to be involved and write, call or fax to the DOS and CA All the numbers are here in this site. Ask when was your name submitted or resubmitted. The date of the name submittal is very important. If it has not been resubmitted, your in the black hole. I know they are still many names that have not been resubmitted. Nothing will be done untill the resubmittal of your name check. -
cigarette custom in China
markimwaiting replied to tonado's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Tsingtao is about 4.8% alcohol by volume. Other are similar. how about the wine, it seemed more like a liquor. Mark, I don't know about the wine, but I got into a drinking contest with a guy down in Nanning. Started off with something called "Snake Bite" and it was the nastiest stuff I ever got down my gullet. If it wasn't for someone sticking me in a cab and seeing that I got to the hotel...I'd still be there. LOL, i know the feeling, my fiancee's nephew in GZ and a few of his friends I guess wanted to see what the American was make of. we had a great time. The next night at the Hard Rock, I was teaching Tequila shots. I dont think he liked it. Worm...or no worm? No worm, i didnt think he could handle it -

Another letter postponed

Tine & Ella, FYI: it is their standard answer to people whose case is not cleared. I have been told numerous times to "call back next week" by Greg, Sahra, etc. They try to appear helpful and sort of giving you some hope. Don't want to destroy your hope; but this is my experience. Charlotte PA - Shanghai The Info line, (Greg/Sara) is for info only. If you want things done, you need to call the CA office. -
She was in L.A. for a conference then flew here after the conference. This was her 3rd visit here this year. I believe she has a B2 visa. Her first one was 6 month multiple entry and her last one was 3 month single entry. You are truely a lucky person !!!!!
