  1. You can call the NVC (603) 334-0700 to see when they received the I129F ... and then when they scanned it and sent it on to GZ. This will give you some idea as to where things stand. But you pretty much have to wait now and get ready for the P3 forms to arrive from GZ. Mine arrived on March 15 (GZ sent it to me via regular mail on March 11) after my 129F was approved on February 14. Also, if you've not yet requested the notarial documents (birth, marriage, police), then get started on those now. They can take awhile and must be translated into English. And once you get the P3, get the two forms DS-230 and 169 back in the mail to GZ right away. They won't do a thing until they have them. (And even once they got mine, it took another month before they started my namecheck.) Good luck!
  2. I need to know this, too! Is there a CITIC bank close to the Consulate?? (Thanks for asking, Jatuke.)
  3. Oh, yes! I am K3 and did receive all necessary medical forms with my P3. My medical exam is completed. From what I understand, all that I will get with my P4 is an appointment letter for my interview.
  4. Thank you all so much for this information. I will make sure to follow up on my namecheck now that it's finally been started.
  5. Jatuke, please check out Christina's thread on this page. I hope this helps.
  6. I don't know a better way to do this, but this is a hospital-related thread that might help Jatuke.
  7. This is the POWER of love! This is the POWER of dreams! Once as a little girl, I saw an American movie made by Mr. Walt where a cricket in the movie sang a song, "When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true." All my life, I have never forgotten that movie. Today is "Happy Mr. Jim Day." Congratulations! Rose
  8. How wonderful, Bob ... how very, very wonderful!! My husband's parents were both born in Iowa. He tells me it is a beautiful state with rolling hills and people with caring values, much like the values here in China. I wish you and Guiping double happiness forever and ever!
  9. Yes, it took about 10 calls to get thru, but finally I got a real person (and I was on hold for only about a minute)!!! I was told that yesterday GZ actually entered me into the system and began my background check. And so ... (1) my forms weren't lost and ... (2) they sat around in GZ for "only" a month! I want to share with all of you the most recent portion of my K-3 timeline: March 11 - GZ mails me P3 via regular mail. March 15 - I receive P3. March 17 - I return the two forms for GZ to begin my background check. March 18 - GZ (White Swan Hotel) receives the forms. April 15 - GZ begins my background check. Could anyone tell me about how long I should allow for my background check? And then for my interview? No guarantees, but am I getting close?
  10. I'm so happy for you, Frank. Like all of us, I live for the day I get my visa. Many blessings!
  11. Calling GZ and talking to a person is impossible it seems. I call 8121-8000 and 8399-2000 and all I get is menu after menu after menu. Can anyone offer me advice on talking with a "real" person? If anyone can help me with a "secret" number or extension, I promise not to abuse it. And always feel free to send me a PM. Thank you so very, very much!
  12. I see references to "001" all the time, but don't know what this means. Could someone help explain this to me? Sorry, if this is stupid question.
  13. Thank you everyone for your help. It's so comforting to know that while my husband and I are apart, there's always someone out there in my time of need. A very special thanks to Sir Owen, Wolfman & Bob. You guys are the best!
  14. I called the NVC three times (603-334-0700) and each time spoke with a different operator. By the way, each time I got a recorded message letting me know that "all of our operators are busy and that my estimated wait time would be one minute" (which it was). The first operator was "so-so" and told me that my file had been received by the NVC and to allow 2 to 4 weeks for processing. The second operator was very secretive and wouldn't tell me anything except to "allow 10 business days before contacting GZ." (From this I assumed that my case must have been sent on to GZ.) The third operator was most helpful and told me all the details, including my GZ case # (even though GZ gives you a different case # when they send you the P3). So please be persistent and keep trying until you get someone helpful. The letter from the NVC was dated the day my case was sent to GZ (February 24), but my husband did not receive it until about two weeks later. Thanks for your kind words ... and best of luck to you, too!
  15. I agree with Robert VERY much. We should stay focused on Candle's primary purpose which is to help each of us be with the one we love.
  16. MSC approved my 129F on February 10. It arrived @ the NVC on February 17. It was sent to GZ on February 24. When my husband called the NVC, he was told to "allow 10 business days " before contacting GZ to see if they received it. My P3 from GZ was mailed (regular mail) on March 11 (the 12th business day), but did not arrive at my home until March 15. I returned two of the P3 forms on March 17, and have heard nothing since. As for how it goes from the NVC to GZ, the NVC told my husband the I129F is scanned and then emailed to GZ. A paper copy of the 129F is mailed to GZ (how, I do not know). And the original 129F is kept at the NVC for two years before it gets shredded. Good luck and much, much happiness!
  17. I found Candle thru the Richard Sun website. What a blessing!
  18. Sir Owen & Bob, thanks so very, very much! Because the Richard Sun listing of codes is not alphabetized, it is very difficult to use. So I went to tigtag and it worked beautifully! Thank you ... all of you ... so very, very much!
  19. I just checked my P3 forms and the telegraphic codes are required on Form DS-156, Nonimmigrant Visa Application. I found the codes at the Richard Sun website. But I really don't know what to do with them. If anyone can help Bob or me with these codes, please let us know. Thank you so very much.
  20. I just arrived home from Shanghai. My medical exam there took three full days from start to finish. And unless I paid extra to speed up my AIDS testing, I could have easily been there until Friday (the lab there does AIDS testing only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays). So please allow plenty of time for your medical exam.
  21. What a help all of you are! Thank you so very much for caring about me enough to reply.
  22. Oh, how I envy you! Li and Mick, welcome home! Love, Rose
