visa pickup costs....20 RMB.....about $2.60 in USD.....two of them? $5.20 USD.....I wouldn't sweat the costs....probably the cheapest part of the whole process!!!!! Steve

I will definitely be there, and the timing was not accidental. Ping wanted me to be there with her at this time of year. She will take a week of vacation followed by the week of the festival. We will watch the moon for you as we eat our mooncake. We are really anxious to be together again. It has been a long time since March 12. I'll be there Sept 14-25.....inteview on the 18th, pick up the visa on the 20th and head to family manse in Zhaoqing, 2 hours away by bus....we depart GUZ on the 25th at 9PM.....guess we'll miss ya unless we have to wait an extra day or two in GUZ to pickup the visa....(WE ARE THINKING PINK!!!). When everyone talks about picking up the visa at China post, are they talking about the Chinese post office near the Consulate, or an office in the Consulate building, or the Consulate itself? You have to take a number? Can someone clarify this for me? Steve

Hello All, Aiwen received her P4 packet today.....we are on go, tickets for my travel to China booked.......WE ARE THINKING PINK!!! PINK!!!! PINK!!!! I'll have 4 days to coach her before the interview......and I've got the kitchen sink ready, organized by category, and extra tabs so she can write her own lables in Chinese on them..... .....and away we go!!!! I wonder if I am in violation if I help out at one of my SO's family's restaurants....(they own several) as long as I am doing it for free? Last time I was there, I played some music, just fooling around with a cheapo concertina I found, and drew quite a crowd....even a couple of cops looked in to see what all the fuss was about.....lunch revenue was up 22 percent, ha,ha....maybe it wasn't the music, maybe they were all just coming in to look at the lao wei making funny noises.... ( i carefully DID NOT put out a "tip jar".....lol) Steve

Hello All, Today, I just couldn't wait until my usual Friday status check call.....and sure enough, we have an interview date of September 18, 2007!!! The P4 shows mailed on 7-30-07. so she may receive it soon, perhaps next week....I think they mail them out in a big batch at the end of the week. Now, I am ready to book the airline tickets....I'll leave Sept. 14 in the evening, arriving in GUZ Sunday morning early. That give us Sunday and Monday to rehearse some more....we've been practicing the interview questions by phone and webcam ever since we got the P3. She's able to answer most of the questions in English. We plan to record the communications video on Monday, and I'll go to ACH with my kitchen sink list just to get another entry in the GUZ magic computer. We plan to return to the US September 25, actually the 26th since our flight will leave GUZ in the evening. We should be HOME TOGETHER by just after lunchtime on Wenesday Sept. 26th! I have a week off after that to let her settle in, get a SSN and state ID, and get the marriage license. The wedding will be about 2 weeks after that....I hope..... Can you tell I'm excited? If we get the pink(we will), it will be 8 months and 10 days from mailing the petition to the TSC...(it was transferred to the CSC)....I think we are lucky our case has moved so fast. Hope our luck holds out just a bit longer..... It's been a very long-seeming road, even though our case is fairly speedy compared to some others....I could have never endured it without the great help, support, and friendship of all of you here at CFL. Thank you all for helping me to cope with this visa process. Next....AOS???? Steve
