  1. I am just glad I have a job eventhough i am way way overqualified and way underpaid. I think people are forgetting about how many Chinese have degrees and cant find jobs. Remember the phd graduate girls working in the KTVs?
  2. Be careful what you wish for or you might just get it http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101008/ap_on_re_us/nobel_peace_prize
  3. I live in Tulsa and I was born and raised here. If you have any questions about Oklahoma let me know! Obviously I know Tulsa better than OKC but I have been to OKC many times in my life.
  4. I finally got the NOA1 yesterday. Just took extra long for me I guess
  5. That was a good idea. I checked my bank account and the check was cashed on 9-24. So I guess something is being done at least
  6. I still havent heard anything from them about an NOA1 or if they need more evidence or anything. Do they typically email you or call or what? I thought this first part only took a few days.
  7. Thank you for the very informative reply. When is the step where I have to show I can financially support her fit in?
  8. I know it will take some time to process and get the NOA or NOA2 or whatever its called. Anyway, in the meantime what should I be doing?
  9. I did what you guys said and cut it down alot. I havent sent it in yet. I will tomorrow. The only reason I thought you had to include so much is because I have seen several posts of people saying something to the effect of "well i put in 100+ pictures of us and every email and chat log." Where do I get my tracking number from? the USCIS website when i register?
  10. ok here is what I have in the package. I have duplicates of everything Let me know if I am forgetting something I-129F form G-325A biographical form (do I need to send this now with the package?) 184 pictures of us together or with family. Some have date stamps on them receipts of trips and boarding passes for most of the planes. I lost a few passport photo of her and a passport photo of me a copy of every page from my passport a copy of my birth certificate print out of our chat logs from MSN. I dont know how many of these I should do I have been sticking with 2 a month and its going to be easily over 1000 pages if i keep doing that. I only have done a few months so far and its already a very large stack of paper. print out of our emails print outs of pictures of us on webcam. (we never talk on the phone because webcam is free so hopefully they will understand) Fiance letter of intent from each of us and signed check for $455 table of contents to describe where everything is in the package dont have a ring yet Am I missing anything? I already have a huge headache messing with this stuff.
  11. I had Jia Sign using English letters with her first name first and last name last. I figured the US government would want to see it that way. Hoever, I havent sent in any forms yet so I am not 100% sure they will like that.
  12. First of all is this the time when you "front load" your application? I remember reading somewhere about you only need to send in a few pictures at this time. If thats true when do i send in all the receipts, conversations and 100+ pictures? 2nd. How do you file the forms electronically when they required hand written signatures? I took the forms to her to sign while i visited. So can I just fill them out by hand and mail them in the traditional way?
  13. Why wouldnt I bring the DS-156, DS-158 or the DS-230? All of the require a signature from her.
  14. Thank you for making this thread. I am leaving on my second trip to see Jia in late June and we are probably going to start the visa process as well. Its good to know what I should bring with me.
  15. Ok she told me what they asked her in the interview. Maybe this will be helpful for those who might try this route. What is the purpose of your trip to the USA? Her answer: tourism Do you have any relatives in the USA? A: No Who invited you to the USA? A: my friend TurboSS How did you meet? A internet and then I showed him around China last year. (i think this was the nail in the coffin) Sorry you fail. she said dont you want to see any of my documents? They said no. She said why did I fail? They said sorry its done. next in line please. cold hearted.
  16. I doubt we will try again. I think the next step is one more visit then fiance visa. We just said she was visiting me and I am her friend not boyfriend. Ya I am sure the decided before she even walked in the room.
  17. We ended up not using the boyfriend thing at all. Her sister took out a big loan from the bank and she put it in her account and placed a freeze on her account until she returns to China. But they didnt even want to see any of her bank information.
  18. Well unfortunately she failed her interview. She is going to email me later and tell me what they asked her and everything. All I know is they didnt look at any document and only asked her like three questions. She is pretty upset and she was crying afterwards. I had a strong feeling she wouldnt get it so i am not too disappointed. It sucks that I have to go back to China or somewhere near again this summer.
  19. I thought you wanted to get a tourist visa to bring her to the US and meet family/friends plus see what the US is like. How is the trip to US Virgin Islands a "back-up plan" (unless you plan to have family go there too). If you want to just take a vacation with her you can go to Bali, Maldives, Singapore (visa required-easy), Thailand, Phillipines (visa required-easy). Malaysia (visa-easy), Vietnam (visa required-easy). These are just the places off the top of my head near China because we have been to these places for vacation. There are more places. Also it is not so difficult to get your wife a tourist visa to EUR (even though your a USA citizen) but if only your gf then she needs to prove strong ties. Bottom line -- the most difficult place to bring her for a visit is ... your own country. It was a backup plan because my parents would be willing to travel that far. There is no way I am going to be able to get them to go to China. They said if we could travel near the US they would come to meet her. That plan has been scrapped anyway because it seems to be just as hard to get to any place near the US as it is the US. So if this fails i will just make the trip again to China or somewhere near china where she can go. Her interview is today so I will find out later if she passed.
  20. I sent off all of the documents she needs. She should get them in about a week. She feels very confident and excited about the interview. I tell her not to get hopes up and be disappointed if she doesnt get approved. I dont want to tell her she probably wont get approved because I want her to feel confident and relaxed going into the interview. Now I just have to prepare her for it. Dress code, smile eye contact, example questions etc.
