  1. Well her interview is set up for March 30th. Its quicker than I thought it would be so we have to rush around and prepare everything. She may have to reschedule it for a little later. They said they cant schedule April interviews until it gets closer to April. Anyway, wish us luck!
  2. You guys look great together. She is a cutie. If I bring my girl over, one of her first visits is definately to the dentist. I was the first one who ever used floss in front of her. She didnt know what it was I am sure that equates to a very large dentist bill in my future
  3. Well she is working on it now. She will finish the form tomorrow and set up her appointment. She did find out something good today. She checks a chinese message board where people talk about their B2 experiences. She found a girl in a very similar situation to her. The girl only have 5,000 RNB and was wanting to visit her boyfriend. She got approved So maybe she has a chance.
  4. thats the problem with virgins or even super virgins like this girl haha. They dont know what they are doing and it's like you have to train them. It always sucks until they learn. I am glad you are having a great time and getting along well with her though. I hope the parent meeting is easy. For me it was really easy. Her dad left her and her mom when she was young so he is out of the picture. Her mom was very sweet and easy going and never once asked about marriage or pressured me or anything like that. She just cooked lots and lots of food for me
  5. Thank you that is very helpful and I will definately look more into it. One question. Do you know what country is easiest for her to transit through from China?
  6. Well if she can fly to Vancouver and then fly to a carribean island it looks like she can just get a visa for that particular island. Its very difficult to tell how strict each island is on their visas though I see what you are saying about the US virgin islands though.
  7. Ok so I mentioned my backup plan if she cant get a tourist visa to the US is for us to try and go to a carribean island. After researching it seems the US virgin islands dont require a chinese visa. I got on their website it just basically says in one sentence that chinese dont need a visa, just a passport. It just doesnt sound right to me. If the US is so strict and even the other carribean islands are strict why would the US virgin islands be so easy? I also cant seem to find any contact information to call or ask about it? If anyone can find contact information for their offices I would be very grateful.
  8. I am jealous of you. I miss my girl so much right now, I wish I could go see her. It was a great experience for me. I hope you have the same. Be sure to take lots of pictures. Good luck.
  9. I tried calling the embassy but the number they have on there for calling from outside of China is not working for me. So I may have her call and ask all the questions. The problem about if she gets rejected is that she only has one big break which is this summer. If she gets rejected we wont have time to try again. We are also going to apply for a carribean island visa for her too so my parents can meet her. If not it looks like we will go to Hong Kong and then on to Bali this summer. If we do that though then my parents cant meet her
  10. Also she has been on a chinese site where they talk about american visas. They told her that the consulate would want three months of bank statements and they dont need the total in your bank account. They told her they only look at the money going in and out. What do you guys think?
  11. Thank you thats great information and very relevant for me because my girl will fill hers out in a few days!
  12. Ok her stepdad received her passport. He is mailing it to her soon. When she gets it she will fill out the application for the B-2. So I just need to mail my share of information (invitation letter, recommendation letter etc.) to her before the interview and she brings it with her correct?
  13. After being on this site I didnt expect Jia to say many "I love yous or I miss yous." she actually says it unsolicited all the time. Its a pleasant surprise.
  14. Well my girl is a teacher so her boss is just a teacher supervisor. I dont think she has any connections to use to help. I will ask her though. Her boss has been to the US on tourist or work visa before so maybe she can at least give advice. thanks for the tip though.
  15. I would appreciate it, that would be great. B) Also, I dont mind if they freeze the money until she gets back.
  16. Thats the problem. she doesnt have really strong ties. All she has is family, a job and some savings. So I am just trying to think of anything I can that will help prove her ties to China.
  17. I keep hearing that the government wants to see the chinese person has at least $10,000 in the bank. She doesnt have that much. So what would happen if I transfered like $8,000 to her until her interview is over. They want to see a bank statement but will they be suspicious where she got all that money from when her paychecks are not that great? Could she just say its a gift from her boyfriend? Also would it be suspicious if I transfered it right before the interview (giving enough time for the money to clear obviously) or should I do it now a couple of months before the potential interview? Or am I just wasting time trying to do this transfer?
  18. One of my chinese friends told me that if Jia gets rejected for a B2 visa then she will have a harder time in the future if we decide to get her a Fiance visa. Does anyone know if this is true?
  19. Thanks guys. Ya i am trying to find somewhere that she doesnt have to group travel because i think she would be stuck with a group the whole time.
  20. May not be the right section but I didnt know where this fit. Anyway, my parents want to meet my girl in the future. We will try for a US tourist visa. But since the odds are against us, i was wondering if anyone knew of a list of countries that Chinese people can go easily. We prefer close to America because I know my parents wont want to travel half way around the world. I know she can go to Bali but thats very far. Someone mentioned Aruba but when she looked up the travel requirements she said it was hard for her to get to travel there. Anyway, any help is appreciated.
  21. I was literally there last night. Although i am not sure what terminal I was in. I flew in from Shanghai. Anyway, there were plenty of people waiting right outside of customs.
  22. My girl told me today is single's day in China but she didnt tell me what its about. Anyone have any background info?
  23. So you go to baggage claim before customs? {edit} Repair quote tags.
