  1. Great job, CONGRATULATIONS Jimi!! Very nice to read this post!!
  2. Right, I forgot all about the bigger white translation books... but we're the same as you & have used all of them up, so I will just use the copy of the red book. Thanks!
  3. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD Cool, thanks for the info, Dan!
  4. Do i send in the White book? or can i make a scan copy of this white book? (certified copy of our marriage license.) Or better yet! Will a scanned copy of the RED marriage book work? I looked back at my cover letters to see what I sent in and it was a copy of the white book so that should work. I seen where I also sent in a copy of the red book but that was probably overkill on my part. A copy of the white book will be enough. OK, stupid question, what's the White Book? All we (K3, married in China) have is the 2 Red Books... Thanks.
  5. Hi Hong, Welcome & have fun! My wife has an ID & has logged on a few times, but has not posted yet. Once you start, it's hard to stop though! Steve

  7. Thanks for the links! I will be calling once I get home, but was hoping to get lucky with someone who had done this already. It would be much easier if I wasn't trying to surprise her!
  8. Thanks! So it's your understanding that she shouldn't have any problems as long as she has her China Passport & Green Card? Also her Drivers License & SS Card just for backup...
  9. I'm looking into booking a Caribbean Cruise for next month, Zhen thinks we are only flying to Miami & staying there. I wanted it to be a surprise when we pulled up to the Cruise Ship... Does anyone know if she will need a Visa for any of these Countries: Puerto Rico Jamaica Bahamas Mexico St. Thomas St. Croix Aruba Barbados St. Lucia Antigua Dominica St. Maarten Cayman Islands It won't be all of these Countries, but depending on whether it's Western, Eastern or Southern Caribbean trip, it will be a few of them. So I am wondering if anyone knows about any of them. Any help would be appreciated as I wanted to book the trip by tomorrow. Yea, Mr. Last Minute! Thanks! Steve
  10. That's interesting, Robert. I wish I knew that before, Zhen & I are (hopefully) going there next month... we could've arranged to meet her sister & husband for a nice vacation. Oh well, maybe next time.
  11. And not just a real man, but a good man haha
  12. Unless someone knows otherwise, this sounds like the best/only non-stop from Philly area to Guangzhou area... what Airline is offering this route? Thanks! I did some searching & found this route on Continental - $678 Roundtrip - sweet!!

  15. Well, I missed this post until today but I find it necessary to reply. You may have a few valid points and things have changed in the Visa process since we went through it, but the way you generalize about certain people is way off base. I lived across the street from my first wife & we dated for 2.5 years before we got married, and we were divorced in 6 months... if I was ever snowed in my life, it was then. I met Zhen online on New Years Eve, 2005 and went to see her for the 1st time on March 20th, 2006 & we got married on March 23rd... so we knew each other for 3 months and were married on the 3rd day of actually meeting. She got her Visa less than 10 months later with no problems. We'll be married for 3 years soon and our son is 7 months old now. Boy, she really snowed me - I can't wait for the blizzard to start! I wish you no ill will, but I'm curious how your posts will look if you are blue/white slipped after all your high & mighty planning. I'm sorry that some of the other unfortunate people who received white slips are only slowing down the process for those like you that want to take the time to figure out if she is "the right one".
  16. What happened, did we lose two?! Oh no!Wait, you meant 48 contiguous states, right?
  17. how long is the flight ? do they (Newark) have a smokers lounge for connecting dudes ? Hey Rob, Don't know what the flight time will be, but Newark is a non-smoking airport, no smoking lounge at all. Sorry. Of course you could always go outside, but then you're looking at going through the Security checkpoint again... not that I haven't done that many times. I just looked to verify what I remembered, here's a nice little link for all us smokers showing which airports do allow it: http://www.travelpost.com/airport-smoking-lounges.aspx
  18. Thanks! I did see that & was actually on the phone with them earlier today & the Rep (USA) did not even know that... he said they had one in HK, but it had to be sent to a HK address, not mainland China & when I told him that there is a store in China & gave him the URL, he said that was the 1st he'd heard of it
  19. Does anyone know of a good website in China to buy an iPod for delivery in China? We are trying to buy an iPod for my Son in law in China (his birthday is in a week so shipping from here is not an option), we tried Baidu but in the end they would not accept our Visa Card for payment... We are looking for a Chinese site that will allow you to pay using a Visa Card & ship it to a Chinese address. Anyone know of a reputable site? Thanks much in advance! Steve & Zhen
  20. Well, my wife is not racist against color per se, but I can't say the same about her opinion on certain countries... We watched Bruce Lee in 'The Chinese Connection' night before last (first time for her) and when Bruce went into the Hongkou Dojo & opened a can of whoopass on all including the sensei & then made 2 guys literally eat the words –|†²¡·ò (sick man of asia), she jumped out of her seat applauding... Bruce was a baddd man.... many have cheered him. Kareem Abdul Jabbar was in a movie with him... not sure if it was the CC, but I read one of his books and he said Bruce was the type of man who carried himself as he was the number one man in the room,.... when he finished he was ... well maybe the only one left standing also Yea he was! Not to hijack this thread, but it was 'Game of Death' that Kareem starred in with Bruce, who he was actually a student of for a time. GoD was actually made in '79, 6 years after Bruce died from footage left on the cutting floor...

  22. We have the exact same one in the picture Griz sent but it is electric like you say... we like it a lot but I kinda wish we went with the butane version our friend has. Although ours seems to heat better than theirs, it sucks the electric out of the lines, haha. We like to set it up in the Living Room when we do Hot Pot & watch a movie (since it should be enjoyed slowly, not a rush meal) and with the Plasma, BluRay Player, Surround Sound, Lights, etc. and then the Hot Pot turned on it would flip the fuse every once in a while & p1ss me off, so we now run an extension cord from another room that isn't on the same circuit... not pretty, but it works! Anyway, couldn't find one in the Chinese food store we go to, but the Korean one around the corner had them. If you can't find one elsewhere, let me know & I will see if they have the same version in butane. Steve
  23. um.. not sure I agree... 'face' is not an ethical issue which is concerned with right vs wrong... it bends whichever way the wind blows so that non-interference maintains the balance; In daoism, this might be considered, in western-speak, righting the wrong... but it comes natural to the native. "Do not try to bend the spoon; that's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth: There is no spoon."
  24. CONGRATULATIONS~!! Very glad to hear this happy news!
