  1. Locally, you should get a list showing choices of Offices, pick the one closest to you.
  2. Here's the link to the Infopass website: http://infopass.uscis.gov/ but I don't think there's a number to call... I believe they can only be set via the website. MAKE SURE you are on a PC with a Printer when you make this apppointment as the last step is to print out a confirmation sheet (with a bar code I think) and you will not be admitted without it! I know ours was transferred to CSC as well, then it was transferred to the NBC and then we received an Interview Date (tomorrow), so those dates for CSC may or may not be acurate if your file is transferred out of there again and it could be much sooner than the dates shown. I would recommend the Infopass appointment because as others have said, it may have been 'lost' somewhere along the line. I hope you can get this straightened out soon & wish you a fast, successful appointment!! Steve
  3. CONGRATULATIONS!! Very happy to hear your great news!
  4. Thanks That's why i wanted to post this as i only know of one or two, maybe it will be of some help, i hope so. We were a little (alot!) down in the dumps for so long waiting, and had planned to hire a lawyer etc. but alas, was not necessary! I am sure it's a very small number of people... maybe David would know? Maybe none of my business, but do you mind me asking why they denied the K-3? And did it come up in discussion with the VO during the CR-1 Interview?
  5. Congratulations, very happy for you!! As a side question; I am wondering how many other people were denied a K-3 & continued with the CR-1 & were approved? Either way, that's awesome! Steve
  6. Great news - Congratulations!!
  7. CONGRATULATIONS!! Very happy to here this news!
  8. Hi, If it's anything like ours was (in Philadelphia), you just go in and get a number, fill out some forms & wait. Eventually they will get to her number & she will go by herself to have her fingerprints taken & sign them. That's about it... no Interview, no questions other than: "what's your name?", etc. I could not hear everything from where I was sitting, but I could see fine. After waiting 45 minutes to be called, the actual Biometrics themselves took all of 5 minutes. Good luck & congratulations! Steve & Zhen
  9. I hope so, thanks. Yes, she got that at the end of April. I'm not sure what you're asking here, sorry. Are you asking if she received something back from the USCIS reagrding Biometrics? I don't remember her getting anything like that; only the letter telling us when she had to go, nothing after going... Steve
  10. Congratulations!!! Steve & Zhen
  11. She is suppose to get an I-551 stamp in her passport if she passes. However, because GCs have been issued promptly after passing now a days, many district offices seem to not stamp passports anymore. Even if you directly ask and insist on them stamping your passport with the I-551 stamp, many offices seem to deny this request now a days. Of course you should still try and get them to stamp your wife's passport. The I-551 stamp is proof that she passed and that stamp is equal to a GC in function. Good luck. Cool! Thanks a lot for the info!!
  12. Awesome news - Congratulations & Good Luck!!
  13. Wow Lee, thanks a million!! I never would have known we needed to do that. I'll be writing that letter today. This really is a great thread to have pinned, this info is vital to many people here - thanks again!! Steve & Zhen
  14. Thanks all! We're very happy it is so soon! Do you know if they will give us something on paper stating she passed the Interview (before she actually receives the Green Card in the mail)? The reason I ask is because today is Zhen's first day of Nursing School & we got a call last night from the Financial Aid person stating the government said she was not eligible to receive a Federal Student Loan due to the fact that she did not have her Green Card yet... which in hind sight I guess makes sense, they would not want to lend her so much money if they were not sure she would receive her Green Card. But anyway, Zhen is going to class today with 30% of the Tuition (the part which the US was not going to finance anyway) & the I-797C to show them we do have an Interview Date. The Financial Aid person said she would contact her Director and tell him we have her Interview Date and that all should be fine by 8/14. So I was hoping they might give us something in writing after the Interview so we could finalize the Federal Loan part as soon as possible... If the school does not accept this, then I have to get a loan at a higher rate & Zhen loses her first chance to build Credit in her name, which is second in importance only to her education! Thanks again! Steve & Zhen
  15. I guess all my worrying last week was in vain: previous post asking about transfers... I got home today to find a letter giving us the date for Zhen's AOS Interview! I did not receive anything telling me it had been transferred to the Local Field Office, no emails, just the I-797C in the mail... maybe the NBC sets the Interview Date for the Local Field Office and then transfers everything to them? Anyway, just wanted to let people know not to set their expectations by the USCIS Website (like we didn't know that ), you may hopefully get your Interviews much sooner than stated there!! Steve & Zhen
  16. Hi Mike, I know you wrote this a long time ago, but in case you still needed the info; I live 5 minutes from Philly, but still had to send it to Austin. [edited] I don't know why I didn't see you later Post before I replied, so I apologize as I see now you sent it to Austin... anyway, the info below is still valid if anyone wants to know an estimate on how long it can take to receive your Return. [edited] Also, just in case anyone is wondering, I thought this was funny. Zhen just yesterday received her actual ITIN # from the IRS in the mail. Until yesterday we had no idea what the number actually was... We filed for Taxes in late March, along with the W-7, and didn't get our Return until last month! She also received her SSN number last month, so now I guess the ITIN is useless, but it did get us the Return faster than waiting on a SSN & then filing, but still very slow. Worth it in the end though - it was by far the biggest Tax Return I have ever received! Zhen & Steve
  17. Very happy news, Congratulations!!
  18. I'm sorry, where did you say this restaurant was?! Hahaha Just kidding!! I can see how you could have made that mistake, paying taxes feels like you are getting 'screwed' sometimes. B)
