1. The service centers are swamped so your in for a bit of a wait I'm sorry to say. Get comfortable Due to high workload surges, the Vermont Service Center (VSC) recently transferred 5,000 Petitions for Nonimmigrant Workers (Form I-129) to the Texas Service Center (TSC). The VSC also transferred 22,000 Petitions for Alien Relatives (Form I-130) to the California Service Center
2. Well got the I 130 RFE yesterday finally. I had an infopass meeting on 6/21 and they told me then that an RFE was coming but they could not say for what. Received it on 7/23… fast aren’t they.. The RFE was for a document that I had already sent. It just didn’t have enough seals on it. Only had 2 seals but they want yet another. So it will cost me 2 months of wait time… They referenced some FAM that says certified seals are readily available in China… I told my wife to have it sealed a few extra times so the government can stick a few up their … well you know…
3. I have written letters to the President, 2 Senators, governor, and DOS explaining how unfair this process is for those of us trying to bring our loved ones into this country, while millions of illegals run around with no security check having been done on them at all. The only response I received was from the White House who explained to me that DOS handles these matters and my letter would be forwarded to DOS. 2 months later i received a letter from the the Director of DOS in the Office of Public and Diplomatic Liaison. He stated that DOS understands that delays in visa issuance are seriously complicating the lives of applicants and of those who are waiting for their return. But it all comes down to legal and procedural requirements for the protection and security of the United States. He said each case is unique and setting a time frame is not appropriate. Anyway lately my fiance has been crying when I talk to her and there is nothing I can do to make her understand that all we can do is continue to wait. It sucks bad. She says she does not trust USA and feels that no one is trying to help us. 231146 I understand and feel for you.. I have gotten basically the same answer to some of my correspondence. It’s the favorite cop-out for them. If they were really interested in the security of the US they would have done many other things in the 5 years since Sept 11. This process isn’t going to change any time soon and it’s going to take a lot more people trying. So wait we must.. I hate to say this but… I agree with your fiancé… I don’t trust them either.
4. Yeah... I sent mine back with this letter: Dear USCIS, I received a second I-129F K3 IMBRA supplement RFE in today’s mail 7/14/06. I have already returned the first one and have received email confirmation that USCIS received it on 7/10/06. How many of these do you need? In fact, why don’t you process the first one since you haven’t processed any cases for 12 weeks. But then, I guess you have been busy… sending out duplicate RFE’s. Sincerely
5. I have a friend that brought a girl here from Russia in 1994. The whole process from beginning to end took 2 months. Now… I can understand additional time for name checks and security and such. But, for this process to take more than 6 or 7 months is an insult and a disgrace. We should be ashamed of ourselves for letting the government get away with it.
6. None of us are happy with the length of time the immigration process is taking. This response seems pretty appropriate to me. You didn't go to the Ombudsman with a specific case related issue to which they could respond in any specific way. The IMBRA related delays are not news to the Ombudsman and there is no specific assistance you could possilby have been offered in response to your inquiry. Yes, its a canned response but you presented them with nothing that would reasonably generating anything beyond that. If you don't think THIS response was appropriate, what WOULD you have considered appropriate and why? 231021 I didn't really write them with a "case specific" problem.. just a overall problem with uscis. They were just one of the many on my list. This "process" needs to change and I'm going to do all that I can to try and make people realize it. I understand it's probably not going to happen but I will keep trying.
7. Thanks... I'm going to keep trying to do something. I think we need a new name on the ballots come November.... none of the above..
8. Relax. It has been reported here that the published processing date represents the latest date for which processing at the service center has been completed. That seems to me like a strange way of reporting, but remember, you are dealing with USCIS which is a strange entity itself. If we assume that that is the definition, the date does not seem unreasonable to me if it reflects all the RFEs in the process. If you just look at your case, it has been only a few days since you returned the RFE, much too soon for USCIS to have done anything yet and even if they changed their reporting, it would not make things go faster. My suspicion would be that when they initially look at a I-129F that requires an RFE that they do no further processing until they receive the information requested. IF that is true, and it is just my suspicion, I would look at the timelines and see what the average elapsed time is from NOA1 to NOA2 for your type of petition and use that as your guide for expected time from RFE return to NOA2. And, if you're like most of use, it will always take even longer for you than for other people. As an aside, what do you think CNN¡¢ABC¡¢NBC and/or FOX can do to help? 230887 Nothing to help... just hoping to get some publicity to show how inept the uscis really is. They haven't moved the dates in over 12 weeks... 230888 Besides.. I know everyone here has had to wait... and everyone has been stuck somewhere in their own nightmare hole... this whole process is crap and if everyone just keeps putting up with it and "waiting".. it will always be crap.. instead of just "waiting" more people need to raise some hell and try and make it better!

10. Is Ombudsman someone that you recommend to help with immigration problems? Anyone else had any luck with him? Also could you please pm me with his contact email? Thanks 230879 They are suppose to help.. but I don't know.. You can find detailed instructions on how to submit a case problem inquiry to our office on the CIS Ombudsman¡¯s website at www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman, and specifically on the following web-link: http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic/interapp/edit...torial_0497.xml. 230881 I emailed my letter to the Director here: 'Prakash.Khatri@dhs.gov'

12. Ok I can see that nobody cares... But I'll keep trying... My next "batch" of letters is going to CNN,ABC,NBC and Fox Dear Mr. Thank you for your e-mail to the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman). You indicate in your e-mail that you filed a K-3 application on behalf of your spouse, and that the application processing dates as published on the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services website (www.uscis.gov) have not moved beyond March 5, 2006. We thank you for your comments and your brining this issue to our attention. The office of the CIS Ombudsman is charged with assisting individuals who experience specific problems during the immigration benefits seeking process. Additionally, the CIS Ombudsman is dedicated to identifying systemic problems in the immigration benefits process, and to recommending solutions to USCIS. The concerns you raised in your e-mail will therefore be considered by our office as we communicate to USCIS and develop recommendations to improve USCIS¡¯ benefits processes.
13. A few people on VJ said the dates had changed and then went back... they said the K3 was still showing March 5th ... lets see now that's 8 weeks and it hasn't changed 1 day. After going through this crap the government better never ask me for anything or to do anything ... I'll spit in their.... ok calm down Stephen..
14. Yeah... they don't know what the hell their doing
15. Thanks for the info! : ) 230230 Hmmm.. i see it still says june 20th
16. I think they are telling you that processing on your petition was completed except for that which is directly connected to the RFE. Now all they are needing to do is process the RFE. For example they probably have already done the USCIS name check and have also determined that your relationship qualifies for approval of the petition. Ron got one of these last week. I speculated he would receive an approval email this week. We'll be watching to see. So, yes I think it was a canned response for petitions that were otherwise completely processed except for IMBRA related issues. 230190 Yes... it will be interesting to see how long it takes from this point. Going on the 5th month... but now it dosen't bother me as much anymore.. I'm ready for the long haul.
17. Recieved this email last night... On July 10, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates. Do you think it is a "canned" respose to the RFE or did they actually do preliminary processing ??
18. Sorry you’re having such a bad time… it’s the result of a government that is accountable to no one. I don’t have any experience in dealing with GUZ but I have many experiences in dealing with stupid government agencies... irs, veteran’s dept, etc... I have found this approach to work best for me. Give them an “evolution of your case” in outline form Documents provide at interview 01/01/01 1) document a 2) document b 3) etc Documents requested and provided at overcome A 01/01/01 1) Document c 2) Document d 3) Document a (again) Documents requested and provided at overcome B 01/01/01 CC: DOS, Maura Hardy, Washington DC You get the point... have your SO take it to the next overcome with what they requested (yes same thing) and send a copy of your "evolution" to DOS in Washington. Now… everyone can see what has been submitted at each meeting. I will bet they will not ask for the same document again. Good luck to you.
19. Sorry, David, I wasn't clear.... I received an "A" number under the File number on my IMBRA RFE yesterday. File # Barcode MSCxxxxxxxxxx A# Axxxxxxxx I'm only at NOA 1 on this K3 229352 Yes... my RFE also had a A number on it.
20. Yea, let's hope so!! I'll take whatever they give me! Thanks! 228701 Congratulations to you. I checked my email, and this is what I had gotten at 3:19pm. On July 1, 2006, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. Looks like I got an RFE on the way as well. 228721 Cool! Congratulations!! It looks like they're really rolling out now. P.S. just so everyone know... I never received any updates online or got any emails. I just received the RFE, so who can make any sense of it? 228731 I just received 2 emails from uscis stating that they sent me an RFE and my online case status was updated with today's date. Got the RFE befor the update or maybe... that's another RFE
21. Ah, a fellow pessimist... 228692 Yes…. I have absolutely no faith in the government… Whatsoever
22. Yes, it's strange to see something happen after 4 months... even if it is an RFE. Congrtas to you also... let's hope it moves at a faster pace from here
23. Got the IMBRA RFE today and returned it today.... I wonder what else they can come up with to delay the process....
24. A couple of K3 people on VJ reported getting RFE's. They where mailed on 6/28... it was the same form as the K1's have been getting.
25. Hey Ron, feels good to get a RFE yes hope it's fast from this point..
