  3. Some info on the Chinese economy from Fx Weekly: My wife has said the property prices have been falling. China strategist David Roche said China¡¯s economy is teetering on the edge of a major slowdown, though its not a shakeout in the property market that¡¯s about the spark in the distress. Roche, an economic and political analyst who manages the Hong Kong based hedge fund Independent Strategy, says the world¡¯s third-largest economy is now on the brink, faced with the inevitable reckoning that follows an extended bank-lending binge. ¡°We¡¯ve got the beginnings of a credit-bubble collapse in China¡± said Roche, predicting the economy will likely cool from its stellar double-digit growth rate to a 6% annual expansion as a result Banks are improving their capital base ahead of an expected dip in property prices by as much as 30%, in attempt to pre-empt any moves from Beijing to diffuse the housing bubble. Bernstein Research reported that they expect only 4% of outstanding mortgages in China will experience negative equity positions if housing prices fall by 30% across China. However, the report also noted that if there is a 40% dip in house prices, the number of underwater mortgages quickly rises to 16%, which would put banks under pressure. 7. File I130, I485, I765, I693, I131. The fees for I765 and I131 are included with the I485 fee. Good Luck
  8. We listed my wife¡¯s son as ¡°follow to join¡± on the original application. About 8 months later we sent a fax and email to Guz requesting an interview date. They were good about scheduling the interview during our requested time frame. At the interview they blue slipped him. They wanted to see pictures of him and my wife together when he was younger. You might want to have some of those available. Good Luck my stepdaughter just received the p4 2 days ago. it had the same appointment letter and another letter attached stating the revised forms reqirements. on the attached letter the giv-24 is not mentioned as needed and it also states to only turn in the medical forms and photos at the medical and bring the rest of the forms to the interview. apparently, guz is still sendind out the old appt. letters (02/08) even though on their website they have the new one (01/09) available. some govt. agencies are well known to continue sendingout old forms to get rid of them. good luck to all and think pink!
  9. ACH- American Citizen Hour. I attended 2 of them. It's where you go to the consulate take a number and can talk to a Visa Officer. Some people think it makes a difference. I don't know if it does or not but my wife didn't have any problems at the interview. Good Luck
  10. The instructions say :(U.S. citizens petitioning for K-3 visas for their alien spouses must also include evidence that they have filed Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, on behalf of the alien spouse listed on this form, and a marriage certificate evidencing the legal marriage between the citizen and alien.) But, if you have been reading at Visa journey then you know that I130¡¯s filed with I129f for K3 are taking longer to process than I130 filed by itself. Of course like anything with uscis it¡¯s subject to change. Good Luck
  11. Yes my wife attended the interview with him... flew to China took the train to Guanczhou, about 18 hours, I have not seen the blue slip but, she said all they wanted was pictures... How often has anyone disputed a certified birth certificate here... like maybe never!
  12. Well my wife went back to China to take her son to the interview. We had listed him on the original petition as "Follow to join" We thought we had everything covered, joint bank statements, joint house insurance, medical insurance, etc, etc. He was denied... they wanted to see photos of them together when he was younger ... HUH!!! Hell, he's only 7. I guess the certified birth certificate that we paid 300 yuan for wasn't good enough. Now it's a overcome appointment in December and my wife has to stay in China for another month. I don't know what they are smoking in Guangzhou but, I hope they send me some .... For those to come... take a lot of photos with you... befores and afters.....
  13. Ron, WoW... I haven't been here for awhile but I'm so happy to see your good news. Best of luck in your future life together!!
  14. Oh I'm use to it... that's why I'm still smiling I guess I have always been wrong. I thought the two words to a successful marriage are "Yes Dear" not "Whatever Dear". I will have to ponder this change... I know you sound frustrated but family is family so get use to it.
  15. I've read a lot of threads here discussing Chinese culture. And as I spend my last day of my fourth trip to China, I have to ponder. Are the children who run around in the hotel restaurant grabbing food off of other peoples table, part of the culture? Are the people who get stranded in the middle of the road with no escape possible, part of the culture? Are the people who spit and blow their nose on the street, part of culture? Is all the shoving and cutting in line, part of the culture? Are the ten people who are staying in our 2 bedroom condo, while my wife and I have to pay for a hotel, part of the culture? Are the children who are jumping up and down on our new sofa with dirty shoes while their parents laugh, part of the culture? Are the 4 other people who come to visit and I have to pay for a hotel for them cause there¡¯s no room in our 2 bedroom condo, part of the culture? Or are these things a complete breakdown of discipline within a society¡ Well I certainly don't know. I found the best way, for me, to understanding Chinese culture is just to smile and say ¡°Whatever Dear¡±. I've learned not to make any judgments on the spot and even when I think about it later¡ I just smile and shake my head¡ because I guess it's just Chinese culture.
  16. I'll be seeing her in 2 days... I'll let you know Ok, thanks for your input Stephen. I appreciate it.
  17. SL, I really didn't ask my wife if the P3 came with a return envelope or if the forms where the same. She didn't receive the first P3 so I told her to mail in the forms that I sent. GUZ never entered it as received. About 3 weeks later she received the P3 from GUZ, mailed it back the next day, and about a week later DOS showed P3 received. It's kind of funny... she didn't receive either the P3 or P4 the first time. Yet she did receive the Agent of Choice forms from N.H. in 12 days using the same exact address on the original I129 and I130 forms... Very strange Stephen, thanks for the heads-up. If I may ask, what was different from the two packages you sent in? Was there some form or pre-addressed envelope in the actual P3 package that was sent from GUZ that you used the second time which allowed it to be accepted? I guess I'm just curious if you actually sent in everything in the original P3 return submission. Was the ONLY difference between your two submissions that of the actual forms? i.e. GUZ insisted that you fill out their original forms, that they wouldn't accept home printed forms downloaded from the internet? Or did you perhaps forget to include the P3 Supplemental Cover Sheet? Could that have been why they didn't accept it? Thanks for any info you may shed on this.
  18. I did the same thing and it didn't work. They did not enter the P3 as received until we sent the forms that came from GUZ. Good Luck Yep, I'm taking a risk. But I think it'll go through alright, but obviously I won't assure others that it'll 100% work. I guess we'll be the guinea pig test case. I'll be sure to let others know if it worked or not. If it doesn't work, we can always just send the original P3 forms that we will receive in a few days back to GUZ at a later date. No big loss--and really the gain isn't that big either but I'd like to see if it works or not. Hell, I even wanted to try faxing to GUZ but the SO wouldn't go for that idea. Other posts around the world accept FAXING back P3 to them, so I figured why not GUZ?
  19. Ron, I hope you hear something real soon. You definitely have endured way too much waiting time. Very good sign. In a few days, GUZ via DOS will acknowledge receipt. Hopefully the packages will be worked on Saturday but the dates you are seeing ARE Saturday. The delivery of the October 16 package tracks like this. 11/1/2006 9:49 am Shipment delivered. Guangzhou, China Why is this? 9:15 am With delivery courier. Guangzhou, China 5:19 am Arrived at DHL facility. Guangzhou, China 4:28 am Depart Facility. Guangzhou, China -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Right now, the 17th and 20th packages say... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 12/9/2006 4:21 am Arrived at DHL facility. Guangzhou, China 3:27 am Depart Facility. Guangzhou, China -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It would appear that the departure was from the customs facility and arrival at the shipping warehouse which may simply mean they physically passed through a secure gate in the same building. Until you see that it is with the delivery courier and delivered, you can't be certain but it sure looks like the package will delivered Saturday or Monday.
  20. Stacato, When DOS told me our case was eligible for interview the name check was not complete also. About 2 weeks later DOS told me the name check was complete. About 2 weeks after name check complete they mailed the P4. The interview date was 7 weeks out from when the P4 was mailed. Your getting close get all your stuff ready... Good Luck
  21. My wife never received the 1st P4 but¡ 33 days, 4 faxes 2 e-mail¡¯s later ¡ she finally received the second one. In 3 weeks it¡¯s off to China. Miracles do happen... Can anyone recommend/or know of an extremely good translator in GUZ. I want to have a ¡°interview¡± conversation. Thanks
  22. When I filed my I-130 in the 3rd week of Feb it was taking around 4 months for uscis to look at them. The 3rd week of June my case status was updated 3 days in a row. I didn¡¯t hear anything else. I made an infopass meeting a week later and was told that I was getting an RFE. It took about a month to actually receive it in the mail. After I returned the RFE it took 3 months to get approval. If you haven¡¯t seen a change, in the case status online, I doubt that they have looked at it yet¡ The infopass meeting was my best information. Good luck While I don't think my case is taking any longer than other CR1 cases, probably about the same timing, my situation maybe different. As far as what I said to ICE, I opened a case back in Janurary and told them of the situation. I did tell them I think there was fraud involved. No one ever contacted me after opening the case. I do know she is saying that I abused her. She said it in court in May when she tried to get $800 per month from me for support, she was denied by the Judge of course. After the divorce was final, she called me and spoke of getting back together, which I had no interest. While I didn't mention specifics in my I-130 to USCIS, I did say that I was married to a woman from China before and we got divorced before i married again, So there isn't a question of me trying to hide anything. I can see my timing as far as the NOA2 for the I-130 is similar to Jesse's and other I-130 filers timelines, I guess I'm just getting antsy ecause of my special circumstances, But i think waiting at least another month would be wise before really losing it, not that really losing it will do me any good. ... As always, my prayers is what I have to lean on.
  23. Thanks Ron, I appreciate it¡ I wish things had went smoother It¡¯s the end result that matters and there will be only one. Hope the rest of your journey is fast and smooooth
  24. Thanks Eric and Jim... Lots of good thoughts. I've already bombed them .. for the last 3 weeks. The interview is on a Wed and if I can't get the P4 to her by then I was planning on going to the ACH. It would be the Friday before Christmas so.. don't know if they will have ACH. Still have 4 weeks... will wait and see what happens. No more bombs. My whole process has been like this.. but I'm not quitting.. Ever.
