  1. No more blue ....... PINK NOW .... Congratulations!!!!!!!!
  2. I just received my annual social security summary, and it occured to me, this would be some excellent additional financial evidence to take to interview for Kitchen sink approach. It lists, by year, your Taxed Social Security Earnings (which is usually your Gross Income) back to the first year you worked and had SS with held. I requested this statement from SSA some years back, and they automatically send it every year now. It is Form SSA-7005-SM-SI EDIT: Of course, it is only through 2005
  3. OK thanks Lee She will send the DS-230 part 1 and OF-169 for herself and her son without waiting for a new P3 package. Anything we're missing? Is a payment at Citic Bank required now or later? From GUZ's website: The Instruction packet in Guangzhou includes: Instruction packet (Packet 3) letter in English Instruction packet (Packet 3) letter in Chinese Application for immigrant visa and alien registration (DS-230 part I) Instructions for immigrant visa applicants (OF-169) Notice to all nonimmigrant visa applicants (list of CITIC Bank) Evidence which may be presented to meet the public charge provisions of the law (OF-167)
  4. As I said in another thread, this morning, Lao po and I were celebrating the Sunday arrival of the P3. I then asked her what was in the package. Here's what it contained: DS-156 DS-157 DS 2053 DS 3024 DS 3026 DS 3025 I'm sure I've read David's FAQ's enough to know these are most of the contents of the P4. LOL Lao po, bless her heart, thought we were closer to interview time since they sent P4 forms. Sorry my dear................. What's everyone's advice for proceeding at this point? We filled out the DS-230 part 1 and OF-169 when I was in Shenzhen in October, so she's ready to roll. Thanks, Hank
  5. Ours was mailed exactly one week after DOS told me it had been mailed out. If the address is ok she should be getting it any day now. Good luck, SmilingPaul LOL When my lao po's webcam came up this morning, there she was, smiling and holding the EMS envelope. I forgot or didn't know they deliver mail on Sundays in Shenzhen. She said the letter was dated NOV 30 and the postmark was Dec. 2. Of course, the smiles changed to grimaces, once she told me the contents of the P3 envelope. I'm going to start a new thread for guidance about this.
  6. Very helpful posts. I'll wait another few days before I start to worry. thanks Hank
  7. DOS says the P3 was mailed on 11/24, but as of today it's not been received by Lao Po in Shenzhen. Her address hasn't changed, so that shouldn't be a problem. What is the timeframe for this in your experience? Thanks, Hank
  8. Congratulations for your marriage. Yes, as Rick says, get ready to WAIT!........and........................ Wait! ..........You'll have plenty of time
  9. Rick, About 4 weeks after the NOA2, I received the AOS bill and DS-3032 (Agent of Choice)
  10. David, As usual, this is apparently not a consistent practice. I didn't receive an email or snail mail when my petition left NVC on Sept. 7. I only knew because I called DOS.
  11. CONGRATULATIONS!!! We're at 60 days out of NVC...........hopefully P3 soon
  12. Great detailed report, Mama Bear, I know it will be helpful when I show it to Lao po. Thanks so much and sorry for the blue slip................I know you will overcome. Lily and Hank
  13. Our K3 went out to GUZ on Sept. 7. I arrived in Shenzhen yesterday, and hope it will get here to Lao po's while I am here. BTW.......... DS 3032 for CR-1/CR-2 arrived here yesterday from NVC. It didn't have the address in chinese characters. I was under the assumption that it would.
  14. That doesn't sound real promising as far as getting a visa in Hong Kong - I think he needs to figure out where the visa is going to come from before he leaves, which may not be Thursday. Our friend Google will take Hank to a link with a phone number to call for any details he needs. Consulate closures on September 30 are not relevant to travel September 21 but such a departure will result in a Saturday arrival in Hong Kong. Hank will need to pay attention to the details of when the appropriate government office is "open". If not open on the weekend, he may be better off expediting a visa in the US and departing later. Unless, of course, his sweetheart plans to meet him in Hong Kong for a few days. Actually, a Sept 21 morning departure results in a Friday evening arrival in Hong Kong, but your point is taken, Mike, that I probably won't be able to get a Visa until Monday in HK. Lao po always meets me in Hong Kong and it would be no problem to stay there a couple of nights if I were sure I'd be able to get the Visa on Monday. Since the Sept 21 date is not set in concrete, I'm going to send a Visa application this afternoon to my usual Visa Exchange Company by Fedex overnight. I'll pay for the expedited service and hopefully have the Visa by Thursday afternoon...........in time for a Friday departure. I can wait the extra day to have the Visa in hand and besides, I'll make it a double entry Visa, and hopefully be able to use it again when I go for her interview. Thanks, everyone for the advice.
  15. Due to end of fiscal year, Work has slowed down and my boss just called a staff meeting and "encouraged" us to take vacation now. I thought I might take off to China as soon as Thursday. NW airlines will sell me a ticket to Hong Kong for 60 000 miles but it will take 3 or 4 days to get a china Visa. Seems like I've read in a thread or two that one can obtain a china Visa in HK. Anyone done this? If so, where? Thanks Hank
  16. David, We didn't have to do step 3b. We went to the GUZ consulate and got my "eligibility to marry" certificate. We then went back to her hukou, Shenzhen, and were married at the local civil affairs office. There we said the oath and received the red marriage book. Didn't have to go to the "provincial capital", which in this case would have meant back to Guangzhou, If I'm reading this correctly.
  17. Congratulations!! Sept 7 is a Great Day for me too. Just Called NVC. NVC OUT SEPT 7 - ON TO GUZ!!!!
  18. Congratulations.........Have a Great Trip!!!!
  19. NVC received my K3 petition on 08/10 and assigned GUZ #. I just received this email a few minutes ago. BTW, I sent the Inquiry on Monday morning. Dear Sir or Madam, Your inquiry has been received at the NVC. The non-immigrant visa petition you mentioned in your letter has already been entered into our computer system and assigned the case number listed in the subject line. The clearances for this case continue to be processed by all involved Washington agencies. Unfortunately, no further information is available at this time. The NVC will send notification once the results have been received and the case forwarded to the Consulate General. Regards, National Visa Center ACB /sbb
