  1. Hey Rick... I see two things you did which I want to clarify any issue arose or not: 1. You paid the $70 fee before actually getting the GZO #. Did that produce any issues? 2. Did you try to pay the $400 while the AOS $70 was still processing or did you wait till it was done or some notification occurred? I see you mention that the online system appears to let you do it. So, I guess I'm trying to see if you stumbled across any 'shortcuts'... In answer to #2: I paid both yesterday. The online system had both of them available and states you can pay them both but you have to pay them one at a time. Did you pay these before or after you got a GZO #? So, what was your order/sequence in terms of: 1. Opt in email to who? 2. Sending DS-2032 to who? 3. Pay fees 4. get GZO #. I assume next is I-864 and then DS-230+Docs ? ------ Rick, still like to see your sequence of events too Hey David see my post of my sequence of events on the other thread. To be honest I do not know what the f&*k is next. The process is still new and depneding on who you talk to and where you look you get conflicting information. I do know that you cannot get case status of the electronic NVC case number from the NVC automated system. Once you go electronic you only can communicate with NVCGuz via email. On the bright side, I got another contract extension so I have 9 more months here in China. I would hope than within 21 months I can get my wife her visa. Almost to 1-Year now for the visa anniversary. I do not think the party will be as fun as our 1-Year wedding anniversary party
  2. The eligibility pdf - http://travel.state.gov/pdf/electronic/GUZ...L-0003-0904.pdf There is additional confusion with the electronic processing, since it is not available in most countries. The NVC will answer your questions as if you were NOT participating, unless you can convince them that you ARE. OK...I get it... that is simply a method to get the DS-3032 to NVC by email. ----- I see the instructions from Dan's link says to send to NVCGuangzhou@state.gov... and part of the steps explains to download the DS-3032 and attached to the email BEFORE YOU SEND. BUT !! The DS-3032 has a barcode spot; Rick said he got the barcode once he paid the fee; HOW CAN ONE PAY THE FEE IF YOU DIDN'T EVEN SEND THE OPT-IN EMAIL WHICH IS SUPPOSES TO INCLUDE THE BAR CODED DS-3032? I hate to admit the time I spent today looking at these posts... and nobody seems to yet give a clear step by step on how they did anything. We're circling the CFL wagons around this electronic process... So, which comes first: Paying for fees (to get the barcode) or opt-in email which expects the barcoded form? And who sends the opt-in since it is supposed to include a DS-3032 historically signed and sent by the beneficiary? All emails are supposed to be from the beneficiary This is why I cant explain to David how it works. I am going through the process now but it seems that "anything goes". Here is my process so far: (1) Once I got the GUZ NVC case number I wrote the opt-in email per the instructions and provided my email and my wife's email address. I filled out the DS-3032 and signed it (for my wife). I did not attach a barcode because I did not have one (and still am unclear on where/how you get one). No where do the instructions say the emails have to come from the beneficiary but since the old system required the DS-3032 to come from the beneficiary I assume the same is true. I am also sure many people did not follow this requirement. (2) NVCGuz replied back that I had an attorney on record and neither I nor my wife were authorized to correspond with them. (3) My attorney said if they applied for electronic processing then they would have to scan all the forms, blah blah...so I wrote NVCInquiry an email and removed the attorney from my CR-1 case (4) A week later I got back the email from NVCGuz with the new NVC GZO number and telling me to direct all correspondence to the NVCGuz email address. It confirmed I was now in electronic processing and told me an AOS Invoice and IV Invoice had already been mailed out. (5) Got copies of the invoices from my attorney and then went on-line to make the payments. This is as far as I got. For most people 2/3 should not be needed. After confirmation of Opt-In one should get the AOS/IV invoice mailed to them. Hope this helps David.
  3. But again not limited to just HK or Japan.

  5. The nice lady is wrong. The instructions tell you to mail the DS-3032 and request optin to the electronic processing to the post-specific electronic processing email addresses. You did this. You should have received an auto-response email from NVCGuangzhou@state.gov that said allow 7-10 working days for a reply. It will come soon if you sent it last Wednesday. I double checked the auto-response from NVCGuangzhou@state.gov, it did mention: "The NVC has received your e-mail. We are currently processing in the order of receipt. Please allow 10 business days for a response. Thank you for your patience." I do not know why I did not see the 10 business days..... Anyway, last night after called NVC, I emailed DS-2032 to NVCInquiry@state.gov, this morning, I received the following: "The NVC has received the Agent of Choice selection. The Immigrant Visa Application (DS 230) processing fee bill will be sent to the designated agent on the case. The fee must be paid according to the instructions before the instruction packet will be sent". So, this confirms the 'nice lady' is correct... yes? email DS-2032 to: NVCInquiry@state.gov Opt in by emailing to: NVCGuangzhou@state.gov ----- Seems that the online instructions say to use the NVCGuangzhou for the DS-2032 but members (and the VJ email template) say to send to NCCInquiry... The VJ email template is NOT for electronic processing - documents should be sent in pdf format, including a signature The eligibility pdf - http://travel.state.gov/pdf/electronic/GUZ...L-0003-0904.pdf There is additional confusion with the electronic processing, since it is not available in most countries. The NVC will answer your questions as if you were NOT participating, unless you can convince them that you ARE. Exactly!! Another piece of information. If you have a lawyer then you cannot opt-in to the electronic processing because NVC will only communicate with your lawyer. To opt-in you have to remove your lawyer as your agent first.

Hello Whome, I really appreciate your quick response!!! I double checked the auto-response from NVCGuangzhou@state.gov, it did mention: "The NVC has received your e-mail. Here is my situation, last Wednesday, I sent an email to NVCGuangzhou@state.gov and requested to opt to the Electronic Processing, on the same day, I have paid the AOS fee $70.00 online before I got new case number. Do you think I am still in Paper Processing since I already paid AOS fee without new case number assigned? Do I need to wait for the new case number before I go further documents filing? Thank you again! You are ok with already paying the AOS fee. Once they give you the new electronic processing number they will switch everything over. However, if it was me, I would wait to do anything else until you get the new number. That being said others have gone ahead and been ok I think. I got mine in 9 working days...
  7. Maybe I am wrong but I thought he was filing the I-130 not going for an interview.
  8. First where are you living? You only need a copy of her biographic page for submittal of the I-130. However it is not a bad idea to just bring the original passport with you in case they ask to see it. I doubt they will. You need to bring originals of her birth certificate, your marriage certificate, etc.
  9. So you go to baggage claim before customs? Dan means that you carry it past the customs inspector. He may or may not pull you to the side to open and inspect your bags Yes - there will be a baggage pick-up, before customs, and then a place to drop your checked baggage for continuing flights Randy is right. I confused immigration with customs (to me they are the same). You will pick up your checked baggage after going through immigration check. You will take it to a special counter to rescreen it/recheck it if it was checked all the way through to Shenzhen. If only checked through to Shanghai you will have to recheck at the departure counter. This is the same in Atlanta or Seoul...etc. Here is the process (from Shanghai Airlines website): International arrivals to domestic departures at Pudong Airport Process: Arrival- Health Quarantine Check-Immigration Check-Baggage Claim- Custom Declaration –Check-in-Security Check-Boarding {edit} repair quotes
  10. The Beijing airport was voted best in the world in 2009 survey published by "World-renowned British American travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller" Well the People's Daily cannot be expected to get things like this right .... figured at least one UK fellow would get a kick out of this .. Notice there is not one USA airport on the list ... from my cordial experiences with TSA I cannot imagine why. http://english.people.com.cn/90001/90778/9...252.html#liuyan
  11. smitty is correct, if you have the money and connections then its all different to the common people laws. hush Jin ... that kind of thing only happens in China ... never in the USA .... The corruption has flourished in the US the last 8 years without impunity. It will only get worse from here on out. Since our leadership is now owned by the debt houses of lies, legalized counterfitters, misery and manipulation. Investment banking houses (Denizens, cowards, parasites and scum) took bailout money and reloaned it to the US Government in T-bonds the past year. Their cost for the money was zero. Thanks to the 12 financial gangsters districts called the Federal Reserve. The US government is paying 3.5% interest back to this filth on this loaned money from the American citzens. The past 8 years ... I think it has been going on longer than that ... just that now the "cat is out of the bag" for more to see
  12. So you go to baggage claim before customs? No..You go through customs first and then to baggage claim. If you baggage has been checked to Shenzhen you will still need to claim it and recheck it. If it has not been checked then you will need to check it in at the departure counter. {edit} Repair quote tags

  14. The same can be said about Korean Air. However I am sure the newest movies, while not out in the USA on DVD, are out in China/Korea/Japan on DVD (sometimes in China even before the opening Friday at the cinema).
  15. It will be a GZO number. You should wait until get the GZO to pay the AOS fee but it is ok. I would not email the I-864 until you get the new GZO number..
  16. The IRS copies are not professional looking so what you propose should be fine. However if you call the IRS and request the tax transcripts they will fax them to you if you tell them you are in China. I did that.
  17. Many times the dispute is over how much they are compensated. Yea..they will be forced to settle and they will be compensated...and there will be disagreement on the fairness of the compensation... 600 yuan (90 USD) a year/person for 20 years.....

  19. i think you saw it correct some women will be lick this.push-push-test-test and many chinese men will do as he did. its seen as quality from him, but as to her ? i feel she shows little quality in just my eye. many chinese women like to play this kind of thing with men and this would be very confusing for a western man if he gets this kind of women. i admit i test too, not to that much. but i say most chinese women do test and sa jiao yes it is confusing to the western man because when tested like this his response is usually to say "fine...if that is what you want...see you later...call me when you settle down".... this is not what the chinese woman expects..she expects you to run to her and hold her...even go find her if she ran off...to show her she is the only thing in the world... do i like it..no...do i understand it..yes...do i do it..damn right...
  20. oh..my wife is older than college but younger than 40's .... she get compensation too ... oh..i feel a mop slap.... actually many people in usa when they met an usc/asian couple usually think this is the only reason for them being together ... as sad as that is...
  21. Looks like the rat infested parent's apt. in south philly of a college buddy of mine
