  1. Thank you very much for the information Hailong The above link is about Medicaid supplement. I am not sure whether my parents can apply for it. Is there any other insurance I can choose? Thank you very much! Hailong
  2. Thank you, Tony! I do not think the home state will do anything about the health insurance for the new immigrant seniors. I am currently in MS. Best wishes, Hailong
  3. Dear All, My parents are coming to US as immigrants. I would like to purchase health insurance for them. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations. I really appreciate! Best wishes, Hailong
  4. Hello Kyle, Merry Christmas to you and your wife! For the packet delivery, we did exactly the same as what you did. My parents passed their interview on Monday, then on Tuesday they returned hometown in Shandong. On Friday, they received the packet from Mr. Yang. I think this was the biggest Christmas present for them ever. Mr. Yang is really an honest and nice man! Thank you very much for all your help! Have a wonderful holiday season! Hailong
  5. Greetings to all, It's my great pleasure to take this time to specially thank Mr. Yang Jiahua at Tian Yu Garden for he has done an extraordinary job to help my parents's immigrant interview during their stay at Tian Yu Garden. After I got my parents' interview date scheduled, I was looking for Hotel near GUZ Consulate for my parents to stay. From this wonderful forum, I was getting to know Mr. Yang. Many members highly recommend his excellent service, especially for those who need someone to help with their application documents, Medical Exam and Immunization, etc. It is the perfect fit for my parents situation. Even though I did have a relative in Guangzhou, I decided to let my parents to stay in Tian Yu Garden. So I called Mr. Yang to reserve the room, my heart was touched when he said with Chinese "Don't Worry, I will do my best to help your parents, and you can consider me as your relative in Guangzhou", at beggining I thought it was just a businessman's promise, however, he's really done what he said. During the conversation, I learned that I did not have many childhood pictures with my parents, he suggested me to write a letter to VO to explain the reason and get it notarized. I did so. (During my parents' interview, the VO looked at all the pictures one by one, and asked some questions and she smiled.) I reserved 2 bedrooms for my parents, my younger sister and my nephew, priced 280 Chinese Yuan per night, plus 10 Chinese Yuang per day for using kitchen cooking food ( When checked out, Mr. yang only charged 280 Chinese Yuan per day) After my parents, my sister and my nephew arrived in airport, my relative went to airport picked them up and drove them to Tian Yu Garden. Mr. Yang meet with my parents there, the same day, he reviewed my parents' documents, asked my parents several questions, such as when I came to USA etc, in fact, these questions were asked by the VO during the Interview. The next day, Mr. Yang provided transportation without any charge for my parents to get their Medical Exam and Immunization. On Sunday evening (my Parents' interview was Monday), Mr. Yang went to see my parents, and re-organized my parents documents and told my parents what documents need to give to Consulate worker, and what else need to give to VO, and practiced several questions. With Mr. Yang's extraordinary help, my parents felt much confident. On Monday, after my parents successfully passed their interview, I called Mr. Yang and thanked him, he said with Chinese "You are welcome. Nothing is better than passing the interview, I am so happy for your parents". Then he went to the Post office at Consulate building to help my parents about their passport and visa delivery. Since my parents live in Shandong, the Post Office does not cover Shandong, we asked PO to deliver the parcel to Mr. Yang, then Mr. Yang will mail it to my parents with Express service. On Tuesday, after checked out, Mr. Yang drove them to the bus station. After My parents, my sister and my nephew arrived home, I called them, they were having their dinner at that time, my sister stopped her dinner, and told me with Chinese "Mr. Yang is a great man, I can not believe there is such a good businessman in this era, his help was tremendous with all aspects, we really appreciate him" I would like to recommend Mr. Yang's service at TianYu Garden to anyone else going to Guangzhou. Mr. Yang, Thank you again!!!! Merry Chirstmas and Happy New Year! Hailong from USA
  6. Yes, they absolutely must fill out the US Customs form. All passengers must fill out one of two forms. There is a form used by visitors and another form used by US citizens and legal permenant residents. They will use the form for citizens and LPR's. Here is a link that has a sample of the actual declaration form. http://www.immihelp.com/forms/6059b.pdf It is not legible when printed out, so to help my wife's parents better, I downloaded this other form, filled it out and sent to to them. They could then use this form on the plane as a guide for filling out the real form. All they needed to do was copy the information. http://www.immihelp.com/forms/6059b.pdf You may meet your parents at the exit from customs. There will be a waiting area there for any one meeting international travelers. You are not allowed passed this point. You will not be allowed to assist them through customs, but don't worry there will be translators so they will be just fine. Also, allow at least one and a half hours for them to clear customs. This is how long it took my wife's parents and other friends on their first trip when immigrating. They should be prepared to answer some simple questions, like who helped you immigrate to the US. Don't forget to remind them to hand carry the packet they got at GUZ. They must hand it in at passport control, which is just before customs.Again, don't worry, officers will help them through the process and translators are available if needed. Once they are here, you should expect to see their green cards in about three weeks to a month. Again, congrats and enjoy. Hello C4Racer, I really appreciate you sharing your experience with me. I feel very comfortable now. As you explained, I will fill out the Customs Form and email my parents so they can copy the information to the real form on the plane. I will also remind my parents to carry and hand in the packet that they got at GUZ at the passport control. For the Customs, since they will not bring too much things, so it should be simpler. Anyway I will be patient to wait for my parents in the waiting area. Thank you again! Best wishes to your family! Hailong
  7. Hello xiaofeizhu, Thank you for your Congrats and wishes! Yes, It is really nice. My 8-year-old daughter jumped on the bed, and my 6-year-old son asked me "Will my grandpa and grandma come today?" I believe to have parents living with us is a blessing for us and for our kids. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hailong
  8. Hello Kyle, Thank you again for all of your help!!! With your suggestions, my parents stayed in Yang's TianYu Garden, he is such a great man helping my parents reviewing their documents, driving them for the immunization and physical exams, conducting mock interview, etc. I also asked him to receive the visa package and mail it to my parents. I wish you, your wife Jingjing the best, if you need any information on parents immigration in the future, please feel free to contact me or drop me a PM. This CFL is such a wonderful forum with so many great members to help each other with "A Candle for Love" in their hearts, I could not show my appreciation with my langauge limitation. Merry Chirstmas and Happy New Year! Hailong
  9. Hello C4Racer, Thank you again! How's your family doing? I am sure your father and mother in laws enjoy their new life. Yes, this is the best Christmas present I ever have because my parents got their interview passed. I could not sleep until almost 1 am after I searched air tickets for my parents. I am very glad there is an airline from PEK to Huston IAH without stop. this is an overnight ticket. I will fly Huston and meet my parents, and next day fly to my city together. I have some questions, C4Racer, from your experience, do my parents need to fill out any forms in the airplane before they land? If yes, what forms can I download? where may I meet my parents, before Customs or after? I would like to help my parents as much as possible because they do not understand English Language. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hailong
  10. Hi Warpedbored, Thank you! You did meet with C4Racer's father and mother in laws? The world is small. Isn't it? I hope my parents will enjoy their new life here in this great nation. Best wishes, Hailong
  11. If I understood her correctly she sponsored her parents for an immigrant visa this last time. Hello Warpedbored, You are right. This time I sponsored my parents for their immigrant visa and got passed. They were never granted B2 Visa before. I am so happy they got it this time with a better one................... 12. Hi there, Just called. My parents got PINK note this morning in GUZ. Thanks God! Since year 2001, I tried to help my parents get B2 visa to vist us, unfortunately, my mom got refused totally 4 times since then, and my dad got refused 3 times. After I got US citizenship this year, I began to help my parents for their immigrant visa application, it took about 5 months. I am really grateful to this wonderful Candle Love forum. Here, I would like to especially thank the following great members for their tremendous help: Kyle, C4Racer, splinterman, dnoblett, smokiessky,Todd&Xilan In addition, I would like to thank Mr. Yang at Tian Yu Garden for his selfishless help!!! I will write a new topic to thank him shortly. Merry Chirstmas and Happy New Year! Hailong
  13. Hello Kyle, Thank you so much for your wishes! My parents are in GUZ Consulate now. I will keep you posted. For Rick's questions, I kept it in my parents document folder because it was scanned and emailed to NVC before, I assume we should bring it. However, the interviewees have to bring Passport with them, the Bio pag is in the passport, if the VO want to verify, they can check the passport. Best wishes! Hailong
  14. Yes. You understood correctly. They can try to give all of those documents to the consulate worker. The worst case scenario is that they won't accept all of them and give them back to your parents. They'll keep what they want. What they don't keep your parents can take with them when they sit for their actual interview. Hello Kyle, I really appreciate your tremendous help! I am not in GUZ with my parents. My younger sister and my nephew are with my parents. I will tell my parents to turn in their documents listed above to Consulate Worker, then keep whatever left for VO's inteview. Thank you again! I wish you and your wife a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Hailong
