  1. Yes, $30,000 is way on the high side. For us the whole process, including three trips of a week to ten days each: $12,000 to $15,000.
  2. Just tell him you could've suggested "Railroad".
  3. He's entitled to his opinion just like everyone else. He's using his celebrity and whatever clout that may muster to try and save lives for crying out loud. China is in a position to put pressure on Sudan because of their influence in the region through extensive trade there. The opportunities to put any economic or political pressure on China come few and far between. Like it or not,the Olympics happen to afford one of those opportunities. This isn't the first Olympics that's been used to put pressure of one kind or another on the host country and it won't be the last. It's part of the price you pay to get the potential cash cow and public relations stage for your country that is the Olympic Games. Does it make it a little uncomfortable for us because of our unique ties to China? Of course. But what's going on in Darfur should make everyone uncomfortable. That's the whole point.
  4. In a few hours Feng will take her place in line with the other visa hopefuls and Mark will head up to the 5th floor to nervously await her appearance in the hallway. Think pink thoughts for them.

  8. I been suspicious of these "claims" since I first read them.
  9. Randy, Do you have any other information on Mr. Stuart Folinsky. Did you use him and did he help get your wife here with you. Also do you have a email address or a phone number for him. If you have time I would like to hear everything you know about him. Thanks..... Click on the guy's name in Randy's post. It's a link to his website.
  10. Congrats to you both and great job with that overcome evidence.
  11. He lives there so I guess he's entitled to his opinion. But he seems like a pretty angry dude to me. He may have some valid points in his article but it's hard to see them through all that resentment.
  12. But this question regarding "Florida ID Card" (Not Drivers License). She went to the bank alone and somehow opened a bank account, but later when she tried to transfer $300usd from her bank to her family in China, they refused because she has "no valid ID".Would not accept her China Passport or Expired K1 Visa,or her Expired Florida ID Card. (I have no idea what ID she used to open the bank account) I had to JOIN her bank account (making it a "joint" account)then use MY ID to send the money to China. Florida ID is needed for many things in daily life, not only employment. She used her "Entry Card/K1 Visa" to obtain her first Florida ID Card, but that one expired as soon as the 90 days was up. The people at the "ID Office" say to bring "Green Card" in order to get NEW Florida ID. This cant be accurate. Here's the info from thier website: http://www.dmv.org/fl-florida/id-cards.php How to Apply for a Florida Identification Card Show your documents proving identity (non-U.S. citizens can use these documents as proof). Show your Social Security card (if you have one). Be at least 12 years of age (no age requirement in Citrus, St. Johns, and Monroe counties). Offer proof of your correct address. Pay the applicable fees: Here's the list of documents you'll need. It's a long list so I didn't copy and paste the whole thing: http://www.flhsmv.gov/ddl/faqkeys.html
  13. CONGRATULATIONS to both of you.
  14. Good luck to both of you. Positive thoughts only.
  15. We filed AOS and EAD in her married name and AP in maiden name, as some suggested so the name would match the passport when travelling. All three came back in her married name. Ultimately it didn't matter as we got the GC before AP was needed but seems odd.
  16. Yes. I have a 7yr old Lab. I don't know what I'd do if I decided to move to China. Good luck.
  17. Here's a recent thread on this topic: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...c=29379&hl= Hope this helps.
  18. Sounds like there's light at the end of the tunnel for you guys Randy. Congrats.
  19. Congratulations! I hope this isn't goodbye.
  20. From your earlier post: "Please Mr. xxxxx explain your income and current living condition. Please explain in a certified statement what you do for work now as well. Please have your parents write a certified statement and have it photographed with you and your parents explain that they will help support Qi". I think you just need to do what they're asking. I think they want to see a written explanation in your words as to what the living arrangements are/will be and what you do for work. And have your parents write up a statement saying that they are willing to provide room and board for both you and Qi until your able to provide it for yourselves. And that you will be employed at your father's business until or if you find other employment. Keep in mind that the gov't just needs to be convinced that these things will happen. What goes on between you and your parents after she's here, becomes your business until AOS etc. Then, they apparently want you all to stand together with this document and take a picture to show that you're all who you say you are and agree to what's in it. I could be wrong about that part, but if that's what the blue slip says, I'd just do that. I don't think they want to see anymore stubs or tax forms. I think they just want the lliving and financial arrangements spelled out by both you and your parents. I don't recall others who've had sponsors being required to jump through these hoops, but they're holding the hoops so you might as well do the jumping. Good luck.
