  11. Make sure you get a pad of some sort between you and the memory foam as it insulates your body heat very much and you will wind up turning into a sweat ball.
  12. I am from Tucson originally. I use to leave water all over the desert in rock piles marked with blue flagged stakes. Can¡¯t stand to see people dying in the desert to get here. I personally think trying to get here via the Mexico boarder is stupid but you shouldn¡¯t have to die from it either.

  16. I have been asked by a few women wondering how do they know the American they are considering dating or getting married to is a good man? That he is not hiding another wife or has a criminal past. Of course there is no 100% way of knowing this so I highly suggest if you're considering spending the rest of your life with a person and moving to a country where you're basically putting yourself 100% in your SO¡¯s hands, that you do what is called a ¡° Background Check¡± on this person. http://www.intelius.com/ is just one of many such sites you can have this done on. I don¡¯t know how you will pay for it as it¡¯s not a free service, maybe someone here has a suggestion. I think it¡¯s a small price to pay for a little peace of mind that many overlook. I thought I'd put this out there in light of some recent events lately.
  17. Hermmmm I was asked several times for my documents. After I had lunch with Tings uncle and a business partner, this business partner was detained by the authorities and questioned rather heavily about who I was etc. right after we left. When you check into a hotel and they ask for your passport then your good. If not then I HIGHLY suggest you register. True you may not get caught 99% of the time like most here but if you happen to be that 1% poor sob then you¡¯re screwed.
  18. I agree with this suggestion, always get a service where the records are documented.
  19. I suggest 1 month prior so if you hit any snags you have time to work them out.
  20. I didn't want to post it before because it's almost totally in foul language: "Fellas, when you wake up in the morning, you should look yourself in the mirror and say: 'F--- you. F--- your hopes, f--- your dreams, f--- your plans. F--- everything you thought this life was going to bring to you. Now let's go out there and try to make this b---- happy.'" It's much more amusing to hear it from the lips of Chris Rock and to see his expressions, though. I remember watching this routine on the plane on the way over to see my wife last spring. Good laughs. I'm curious if someone can explain to me how they think "face" is still coming into this in light of Timb's revelations about the "many complexities with this relationship that I didn't understand until now." Maybe my understanding of "face" isn't very good but just saying "it's because of face" doesn't really seem to be explaining anything for me. For me face sort of has two related meanings, one of them being a person's dignity (in a socially defined way) and the other being a kind of social status or standing and the behaviors that recognize and uphold that. I don't see how concerns about either of these would come into play between two friends in this context. Can anyone use any specifics to enlighten me or explain what they mean by "it has to do with face"? You have the idea but remember it's also about "Perspective and social norms" That govern one views and reactions to "face situations". Your SO is from a totally opposite society so what we may consider loss of face and how to handle the said loss of face, she may have a totally opposite spin on. What may be loss of face for her may be no big deal for us and that is almost always the case. There are several complexities dealing with loss of face that will take years to learn and you will probably never understand it 100% because it's been my observation that some Chinese don't even understand it 100% either All you can do is take some aspirin and pay attention. Or a shot of kicken chicken and don't
