  1. I agree, xiaomin will never forget that I flew half way around the world, got down on one knee, recited a little speech (without messing it up!) slipped a tangible ring on her finger, and asked her to marry me. Impressing the VO was the last thing on my mind. Insuring that xiaomin will never forget that moment was paramount to everything. No, Honey, i will never forget that sweet moment! A moment i will cherish in my memory till the day i die. Thank you my Sweet Love xiaomin
  2. Hi guys, gals, and anyone else here! My biggest fear, when xiaomin gets here is this... After a few days, she's going to look down at the dinner I've prepared for her and say "Honey, I'm sorry, but I just can't eat this stuff any more!" (stuff???) and I'm not going to know what to do! Yeah, I know we'll work it out, we have no problem working out all of our "adjustments," which leads me to "future planning..." Where, in Orange County, California, can we shop to buy "real" Chinese food? I love "La Choy" out of a can from Albertsons or Vons but, by the way xiaomin twisted her face up when I told her this, I'm assuming that isn't going to "cut it!" Help? Any of you SoCalO'nians... (Please don't tell me I have to go to "Little China" in L.A.... 1) I don't know where it is, and 2) By the time I got back, the Bamboo Shoots would be trees!) You are not building up a good image for me here are you? Didn't i tell you that i would try to keep an open mind, and i DID have tasted western food before? I even said i would cook, ... Chinese! Don't you worry Honey.
  3. 3 American wives, 3 failed marriages, and NONE of them gave me the love and devotion in all of their combined years that xiaomin has given me in the first 3 months of our long distance, and one together-week, relationship... Coincidence? I think not!
  4. LOL - Good topic... I pasted the whole thing into Word, and well, lets just say that my company would have me planting replacement trees for years if I tried to print it all! So I figured I'd just print 3 days worth a month (1st, 10th, and 20th) it's only been 3 1/2 months and that came to 60 pages, so I'm cutting further to 2 pages for each of those 3 days a month, editing out some of the more, ummm, intimate parts! I think that'll be good enough! Plus I'm going to give her the whole shebang on a flash drive if they really want to see it all, even the spicy stuff. As long as we accomplish the goal, who cares right?
  5. D'oH! B) It said this was in Chinese, but I just had to come in here and look anyway! Kinda like a car accident... Y'a just can't help yourself! LOL -- Now WHERE's my translator babe when I need her? Oh, it's like 2:30am there... I assume she's sleeping... She BETTER be sleeping!
  6. Hi again everyone, xiaomin and I have been so busy making plans for my first visit to her, and just being together in general (after hundreds of hours together, I still can't get enough of her!) but either way, sorry we haven't been posting. All's well in The O.C. and zhaoqing! I couldn't find the thread that we were discussing the requirements of getting a Chinese Visa (from the L.A. Consulate) It was easy... I got it yesterday. The traffic sucked! But I had the filled out application, my Passport, Regulation Photo, A Printed Itinerary from Expedia.Com (not purchased yet) and no hotel reservations (I did put down xiaomin's address though, even though it was her work address, I'm sure they assumed that I would be staying with her.) When I picked it up, I had the pick-up receipt, my driver's license, and $130.00 cash. It took about 6 minutes in line (it took longer to find a parking spot that didn't have a meter because I forgot change! LOL) So, just letting everyone know that the "purchased" airline reservations, and hotel reservations aren't a hard and fast rule. At least for me they weren't... My heart has had wings for over 3 months now... I FINALLY get to fly it to the source!
  7. Wow! Thank you so much for the list Bob (haiqing too!) I just pulled out the engagement ring receipt! Well... it's a start! This trip is going to be the most amazing ride of my life (and I'm not talking about the plane or ground transportation!) I wonder if I can leave my seatbelt fastened the whole time I'm there? I think I'm going to need it! LOL (kisses xiaomin!)
  8. OMG! Now there's a P-3 AND a DS-230 Part I? -- I think it was easier to join the Marine Corps!!!... (But at least the results are going to be sooo much sweeter this time!)
  9. Nope, you weren't confused, and thank you everyone for the information. I (Jerry) have a lot of studying to do. I'm going to print out all of the instructions and flow stuff, and study it (probably on my flight next month!) So if xiaomin has most, if not all, of the paperwork that she needs, then she doesn't need to do much of anything to initiate the filing right? As I recall, there's a filing center right here (12 miles from me) in Laguna Niguel, CA, although they don't take hand-ins so I would have to mail it all in anyway. It would be so much easier if I could do everything for her (as a good Hubby is suppose to!) So, before I study, let me make sure I'm, studying the right thing. I'm going to be submitting forms; K-1, I-129F and G-325A, along with whatever identifying documentation those forms require right? Do I include the "Intent to Marry letter?" or an "Invitation letter?" Thanks everyone. xiaomin and I are seeing every day that we would be so lost without this group, and all of you great people here. J-n-x
  10. what a stupid question huh? well, it's a bit more complicated that it normally should be. My hukou(»§¿Ú) is originated in yibin, sichuan, from what i gathered is that according to some kind of regulations, people from that region can only apply a visa in beijing. is this true? i wish it is not, just want to make sure, that i dont have to travel all the way cross the county just for handing in my papers. thank you in advance for anything you can share me with xiaomin
  11. I hear you can get away with it in Texas, and maybe start a weird cult in the process! I think the Fed's are cracking down on that. So don't put all your eggs in one basket. Well, if they didn't crack down on it, they'd probably tax it, so there goes another pipe dream down the tubes! How many wives were you dreaming of having? Hmmmm, well lemme see what's fair? Oh yeah, if she can have underwear that's labeled with every day of the week, them I'm thinking EIGHT, and I'll even have them tattooed! Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday B) (Now who's going to ask about the EIGHTH? Why seven when you can have eight? (Fraturday... right?) Fraturday? Is that like at midnight between Friday and Saturday? Sounds like a plan. Are you up for it hun? Oh wait, no, you're not the one that needs to be up for it!
  12. Wow! This is very encouraging... You had a lot that they could have snagged you on. By comparison, xiaomin and I should be solid gold!
  13. Dont be sorry, Richard & Li, at least you are here for us! we really appreciate of all we've learnt from here, from people like you, people with heart, concern for others and with experiences. Thank you so much! And very happy for you now that you are all living together. xiaomin(& Jerry)
  14. Thank you so much for the luck wishes and the encouragement. Being apart is tough... fighting just to be together is unimaginable.
  15. You two look VERY happy - gong xi gong xi (×£ºØ) from Jerry & xiaomin! http://www.americanmadepottery.com/v/vspfiles/assets/images/wedding-bells.jpg
  16. I just got back from the Chinese Consulate in L.A. - Turned in my Visa Application (Tourist), Passport, Picture, and just a printed flight itinerary from Expedia.Com (I hope that will work) No motel reservations, but I put down xiaomin's address (I hope that's okay too) We'll see I guess. I'll let everyone know...
  17. i have so much i want to say, but i think i'd better shut the hell up! but hey, look at the bright side, thanks to that man, now the Chinese astronomical population number is 36 million less!!! says who this is not one of his political achievement? a mirror has 2 faces!
  18. Honey, you've told me that America would recognise a marriage registered in any country as long as it's legal, but still, i just want our marriage to be originally registered under the law of the United States of American, my future home-county, the land of my dream. that's all. I was not lucky enough to be born, and educated in this great county, but you give me the chance to have a life there, honey, i owe you my life, but i will pay you with my life. I Love You, My Jerry Yay for the USA. Sounds like you both have a plan figured out. I just hope it is all for the right reasons. I understand perfectly how my statement would sound to the world, but as long as Jerry knows that I love him, everything is fine with me. I've never known anything more solid and more sure in my entire life.

  20. Good suggestion girl, and i will be in qipao, red! instead of white dress, there are enough, no, more than enough Yellow-Bride-in-White in this country, i'm so not join this crowd.
  21. Hi, feizhu thank you so much for the goodwill wishes, we really need it at the moment, at which point we are just so thrilled at any sign of hope, yet, also shattered at any slightest sign of snag. ... SIGH!!! I told my Jerry that my heart can only survive one battle like this, and i'm doing it just be i want to be with him soooo badly, and now the drag is hurting me physically, and we haven't even begun the long journey yet! i read your time line, and got a bit confused, why is that you husband was denied the visa to America, i automaticall assume that he's an anmerican. or you are? or one of you is Japanese? as you met and got married in Japan. ... forgive me if i've been too nosey. (you dont have to answer me if you feel like to.) but i'm happy for you that every worked out the way it should be. i wish you the best. xiaomin
  22. Simplicity at its best. (Is that how you were married? ) in fact... she spoke no english and I spoke no chinese.... we kinda saw it in the eyes and made a nod and then a few grunts... that seems to seal the deal better than any word ... what really has to be said when it can be shown I thought the grunting was suppose to come AFTER the wedding! I'm so confused!

I Love You, My Jerry Yes Darlin' I was told that the U.S. doesn't really care where you get married, or how (although I'm not sure that "walking together" thing would cut it!

I Love You, My Jerry Yay for the USA. Sounds like you both have a plan figured out. I just hope it is all for the right reasons. This is most definitely for ALL the right reasons. I'm a single dad of 2 wonderful kids, that love xiaomin to pieces, trying the best I can to raise them alone, in a house that's way too big for the three of us, I haven't had so much as a kiss from a girl in a year and a half (you needed to know that) and xiaomin is willing to step into all this, and be ours. I can't even begin to count all of the right reasons. Will I give her America? Yes, and she'll give us so much more. I haven't even touched her, yet I've never felt so loved in my entire life.
