  1. NOA stands for Notice Of Action [from The USCIS] the actual form number is I-797. NOA1 means that the USCIS has received the application and NOA2 means that the USCIS has approved the application. I filed an I-129F for my Fianc¨¦e...
  2. After I point out this post to her she will! xiaomin has a very unique way of "seeing things!"
  3. We got our NOA2 in the mail yesterday. 91 days from our NOA1. We weren't expecting anything until May to July. Our application was very organized, maybe that helped them process it. Who knows? But cool huh? We're stoked. She's nervous - LOL, but she'll be ready. I'm about 80% done with what I need to send to her for her Interview. Yeaaay for xiaomin and Jerry! Sorry, I just had to post this!
  4. Yes, clear as mud... no... it's not... LOL - I'm going to have to get xiaomin in here, because when I was in GZ, she took me to two different places, one of them was wrong! [obviously I couldn't read signs or --- well --- anything! LOL] If you look at Randyw's gallery photos you will see the building you need to go to. Ah! Visuals... Yes, thank you so much! I don't remember what the building looked like so I'll send these to xiaomin ... She'll know, she's sharp!

  6. Hi All, We're waiting on our NOA2 [after an RFE, my fault] but I was doing some research on "what's next" and have a question... Step 10 of the K1-Process Flowchart on VisaJourney http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;page=k1flow says... 10. Completed Forms sent to Consulate Beneficiary sends completed Forms to U.S. Embassy Well, which is it? Is the Interview and place that will get our I-129F the Consulate or the Embassy. In Guangzhou, they're two different places. I must be confused, right?
  7. I just opened a WaMu Free, Online Checking Account complete with free International transfers! WaMu
  8. Hi Everyone, Yeah, we're still around. We finally got all of our paperwork together to submit our initial K-1 (I-129F) to the USCIS here in Laguna Niguel, CA ... TODAY :-) I have research to do on what to expect next, and what to prepare for. I noticed a member's Interview "recap" that said the VO asked ... "if he sends you any money per month?" She said no, and it sounded like the VO didn't like the answer. xiaomin is VERY opposed to me sending her any money [she's having a hard time separating "buying her" from "supporting her" -- she's very "independent" and wants to do this ALL ON HER OWN] She'll come around, and I understand where she's coming from, but irregardless of her reluctance, would it be a good idea if I sent her "something" every month? Maybe enough to cover food and her cell phone, or something? I don't want anything to screw this up. Thanks as always for any advice, comments, etc... This place is a comforting rock in a storm of confusion, Jerry & xiaomin
  9. Oh my, yes, that's abuse [my children's mother use to [maybe still does] verbally abuse them horribly] It's unacceptable to treat a child with any disrespect. You can be firm without fear or degrading intimidation. I wouldn't consider a divorce unless he refuses counseling [you have to give him a chance too] The first thing that I love about xiaomin [okay, the second!] is the relationship she's built with the children. They love her completely and xiaomin regularly gets upset with ME for "shushing" them when I'm trying to talk to her! THAT'S the kind of step-mom that I want around my kids!
  10. Divorce cert + English translation is needed for the K-1 I-129F package to USCIS, goes to prove free-to marry at the time of filing. This is in the I-129F directions: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-129Finstr.pdf Certificate of marriageability is needed to be acquired for visa interview, this is stipulated by the consulate's OF-169 instructions included with P3 sent to beneficiary from the consulate. http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/up...ts_-_OF-169.pdf Ahhh, okay, so she'll need her single cert. for her package to GZ. Hopefully she'll be able to get it by the time she needs to send her stuff in. Thanks
  11. Okay great, cuz I can get my divorce decree easier then she can get her Single Certificate. Long story. I'll post it when It's not so late and I can see straight. Thanx LostBlu...
  12. Oh my! I'll say that's a new word. I think I'll leave the pronunciation of it up to xiaomin! But do we need those certificates to go along with the I-129F (Initial K-1 Package) ??? It doesn't say we do... Oh, we're getting married here in the States.
  13. Hi again everyone... xiaomin and I are ready to assemble our K-1 package, and I was wondering if we needed my divorce certificate(s) and her single certificate to go along with the I-129F (since it asks about prior spouses) ??? We're both having "issues" getting these documents in a reasonable amount of time.
  14. To MY Chinese, it's ACTION!! LOTS of it! (Oh okay, if I don't say "words" too, she'll kill me!) PS Hi everyone! We're still around, making slooow steps to get xiaomin here. We should have the K-1 package sent off to Laguna Niguel by mid-December, latest! RIGHT Honey???) -- RIGHT! ... AND, cross your fingers, pray for me, I need it.
  15. Hey Smitty, Yes, I intentionally noted the areas outside the designated O.C. because I knew they were close enough and worth the drive up there. It will give Jerry a chance to show off his knowledge of the asian community to his sweetheart when she gets here ... talk about brownie points! Hey, I know those freeways very well ... ... those on/off ramps are the ones where you get to hone your Chinese driving skills, step on the gas, close your eyes and merge, they won't hit you Try it some time and let me know how it works Bob I'm still working on my knowledge of American communities to impress my bride-to-be! "Chinese driving skills???" Boy, that brings back memories of China - Scary ones!
  16. ROFL - Great idea, but I'm pretty sure that she'll take my word for it, that there's hope for her tummy!
  17. Well, if you do land in our hood (Alhambra, MoPARk...) give us some warning. So that my wife and I (and, I am sure some CFL friends) can be sure to give you both a warm greeting. You can count on it. xiaomin and I will be looking to make some mutual friends.
  18. Oh, ya' just gotta LOVE our interchanges, like the ones that have off ramps, off of other off ramps! ROFL
  19. LOL, I'm sure she's going to have enough reason to bop me on the head, no sense in giving her "valid" reasons! I'm even going to look the other way, and very innocent, when we walk down the "Asian isle" in the grocery stores! I live about 1 minute from the 5 / 405 split, but don't show a 99 Market there. They must have closed. No biggie, the Irvine ones are close too. OMG! I just noticed that you got PINK just a couple of weeks ago. WAY TO GO - Your an inspiration to us all :-) http://www.giftoflife.org/cards/amit-congratulations-480.gif
  20. Also very close to where I work (Jamboree & I-5) Thank you so much - These places are going to make xiaomin feel very comfortable!
  21. You're in for a mop slap with La Choy, but if you're in LA, visit Chinatown for novelty, and then venture to Monterey Park and San Gabriel Valley area for food and goods. A MOP SLAP? Oh my! Lets, ummm, not give her any ideas, mmmm-k?
  22. Now I will read your post without the bold and ugly font. Very funny! I know, I know, I have a certain flair that drives most people nuts - (It's just a matter of time, xiaomin!)
  23. Cool - There's two in Irvine, very close to where I work! (Uh Oh, shhhh, she'll be calling me every day... "Honey? Would you stop by the store after work and pick us up some fried scorpions and a side dish of rice?"
  24. Can't remember the last time I was in Westminster, but you might be right, because as I recall, when I lived in Anaheim, I remember seeing bumper stickers that read "Will the last American leaving Westminster, please bring the flag?" Or was that Garden Grove? LOL (No offense to and of our Asian members) I'll have to run up there, and check it out - Thanks :-)
  25. I had 2 girl-friends who spoke 10 words of english managed to get some western guys hooked and stayed in marriage with them and even have built up families with kids!!! It stumped me too! Gosh, they must be unblievably GOOD somewhere, somehow!!! Me and Jerry got caught in arguments few times within our 5 month relationship, and sometimes when i found myself at a loss of words, just wish he could speak Chinese, cause i was certainly at the end of my wit in English. Well, if only we could design WHICH GUY TO FALL IN LOVE WITH! May our love will prevail!!!
