  1. You left off the part at the bottom where it said " Ok ... maybe I'm kidding about the numbers ...". Maybe he was. Okay, he really was. No kidding. But he forgot the
  2. What is your answer to this? Where did you find this? Did you just find it on http://www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman ?
  3. . . . uh, Darnell I think his document checker is himself.
  4. I think your IO was misinformed (you only get 2 copies), and that it's safest to leave one at home, especially if he would have kept one of them.

  6. http://i17.tinypic.com/6z5zv6g.gif Congratulations !! http://i1.tinypic.com/3ygwmdz.gif don't forget to bring her home!
  7. The I-129F is an petition for a K-3 visa. Why did you send this in? You can cancel the petition, if you don't wish to follow through.
  8. Thr visitor's visa is much easier than you think - izus was even able to toss in a few cousins and other relatives. It costs $100 and a trip to their local consulate to try. They must be able to show STRONG ties to China. Check the pinned topic. Some are able to get the visa some are not.
  9. 10 year green card - congratulations! The stamp is good for up to a year, until the green card arrives.
  10. for sure we will... i guess thats the bright side. has anyone heard of having to file biometrics twice? ive heard on wowpictures that has happened but i dont remember exactly what happened Yes - if your last one is more than one year old, it's out of date and must be re-done. Also, every year for EAD.
  11. It's usually picked up two days later at a post office in the Guangdong province, although it has taken (rarely) as long as a week.
  12. It only becomes a REQUEST when the blue slip asks for it. When they ask for something that is not reasonable for you to provide, a letter of explanation is ALWAYS acceptable. If your SO is FULLY cooperative, I recommend providing it. Otherwise, I think you should consider the letter instead. It's not possible to argue with a blue slip.
  13. No extension needed - there is no definitive time limit. Just get it in in a reasonable time period - say six months to a year max. Yes the 90 days is a good guideline, but not necessary. It's rare that someone would be denied at AOS for waiting too long to file, but don't push your luck. It's the VO at interview time who might use that as a factor.
  14. The SSN specifically? . . . and do you have a copy of it? The GUZ website still shows one without that.
  15. I would think that if she doesn't want you to give it out, that's a very good reason to NOT give it out. Maybe your ex would be willing to sign a statement to that effect, which you could then give to GUZ.
  16. I agree 100% - this is one of the most ridiculous things GUZ has pulled on applicants. They have no business asking for a third party's SS. I don't think this would even be allowed in the US.
  17. ADIT is biometrics. You're done. Congrats!
  18. I'm not sure I agree with this sentiment. If a USC petitions for someone outside the country to be able to enter and gain immigrant benefits, I can see that DOS wants to know if the USC is not doing anything fraudulent and may need to check out their background some. The government issued the SSN and another branch is asking for it. The only issue I see is the impracticality for some who have been divorced for a long time to track this down. The issue is whether the ex should allow you to give out her SS #. I say no, speaking from her point of view. If she's willing, of course there's no problem. I'm just suggesting she shouldn't be, and GUZ shouldn't be implying that it's needed.
  19. Really? Urumqi is as cold as Alaska, for a few months each year. Brrrr. But if you're afraid of sharks, it's the place to be - farthest city from any beach in the world.
  20. Try to get her to send you her recent utility bills to you then. They want to prove you are living apart from each other. I'm with the ex's here - I don't think GUZ has any business asking for anything from them (nor do the ex's have any reason to provide it), but this may be a workable compromise, if the ex is willing. If not, just provide a statement to that effect, along with whatever publicly available information you can find.
  21. I would say that even if you can find it somewhere, that she doesn't want you to give it out. Would she be willing to sign a statement to that effect? They don't ask that you do the impossible, but they do ask you to try. Seems like this ex's SS # thing should be dropped from the list.
  22. Yeah, minimum wage is under the $1K/month figure before any withholding. We've been lucky here in Houston's Chinatown. I haven't seen any hint of any of this stuff at any of the places Jiaying has been to.
  23. How long ago did you APPLY for the EAD card? It should take less than 90 days - closer to 60.
  24. It's precisely articles like these that can help keep the attention of the non-CFL public focused where it should be. CFL, too.
