Open an account in a bank in the U.S. get an ATM card and send it to you SO.

So you are living back in the states? I guess a K1 would be faster for yall then. Im living here and I could file a I130 through a DCF. Some have told me its faster, some say slower. I filed in April and now I we are waiting for the interview (P-4). Since we hope for that by the end of year, I am traveling over to China next week to be with my fiancée. I hope it is faster!

hi please help me,i will arrive in GUZ on sunday the 17th of july at 6:30 a.m. and cant get a flight now till 4 p.m., i am not sure what to do there i like to shop, and see the city tho, and would like to get a massage, this is my 3rd time to china but i do not speak the language.any ideas would be great thanks Where is your SO? Prepare the best pictures (ones with family are best, but be prepared to state who is in a picture.. if a US relative, make sure beneficiary knows who is who). Possibly prepare one picture of you two in traditional custom, like if you went to Yunnan.. The sight of a USC in chinese clothes usually brings a smile to a VO. - Group photos and correspondence into early, middle , recent ... some have been asked to see "early pictures" or "recent correspondence". I was told that it was good to have photos of well a known place, lke the Great Wall, Temple of Heaven,etc...in the backround. I met my SO at a disco in Xian over 3 years ago, I can not recall the name of the place but I think she could. Would they ask "what place you met?"

If they make up their mind before the interview why do so many people say to bring so much evidence to it? Can anyone come up with an answer, it is like one side says "predetermined" the other "interview important." So let me see both sides "duke it out," and let the best one win....

I call every day to China but use phone cards ( it is very cheap) so I do not have a record. But I do send a snail mail card or letter each week. We have lots of photos, since I met her 3 years ago I have made seven trips to China, soon to be eight. I hope we have enough to past the test.

At most banks you can take out 2000 yuan a day, and the fee from Washington Mutual is only $3.00, As I siad I like the Bank of China, but even they say on the screen before you accept that you should keep your record. Do they not trust the people in the bank? I have never had a problem with them.

I think that if you go directly to the Airline the price is not that much different.Sometimes it is a lot more. Most of the time I have taken United and the price was only $30 to $50 more than Orbiz or the others but I think I got better seats and knew I would have one.Now I am flying Continental from Newark to Beijing in July for $1150 round trip. I will tell you all how that one is. I have taken many flights in China and found them very good. A good place to book hotels and flights in China is www.elong.com that is in Chinese "Electronic Dragon," check it out...I book hotels all over China there.

ATM: Probably the cheapest way to send money is by giving the Chinese fiancée an ATM (automatic teller machine) card for an account on a bank in the U.S. The ATM card must be good on a network like Cirrus or Star, and the Chinese fiancée must be able to find an ATM on the network. For example, in Beijing, Star and Cirrus ATM's are available. My SO is in Xian and has no problem. In addition, the U.S. fiancé should check with his bank which networks work internationally. The ATM card may bear symbols for several networks, but not all of them work outside the U.S. Make sure the PIN number is only 4 characters ( numbers or letters). Mail the ATM card and the PIN at separate times, or give the PIN number over the phone. I have sent my SO an ATM card and when she got it I text messaged her the pass code. The U.S. fiancé deposits money into the account. It is available to the Chinese fiancée a day later. The fee is typically $3.00 It seems that most ATM's in China are at bank branches, not free-standing. The Chinese fiancée can get yuan. The exchange rate is reasonable. The Bank of China is one of the best to use.

I opened a bank account here and sent an ATM card to China, when she takes the money out I am charged $3.00, I think this the best way. I can deposit money here at any time.Just make sure the card is good at ATM's in China and the password is only 4 numbers.

I would like to know how long did you know her and how much time did you both spend together in China? In my case I met Meg Wen in China 3 years ago and I have been to China 6 times to see her always for 2 to 4 weeks together. Only my last trip in Feburary did I ask her to marry me and I started the paper work when I returned to the U.S. . So I am asking did you meet her in person and how long did you know her? I look forward to your answer.

I am going to China on July 18, landing in Beijing then on to Xi'an to my lao po for two weeks. Still waiting for the p4....but could not wait for the interview date.
