Xie Xie ! I emailed Guangzhou and asked them why they sent the P-3 packet to me and if they sent it my fiancee the ame package. I talked to her today and she has not received anything from them. I will off to China (Xian) next month because I know we will have to wait a long time still.
I got a fedex letter from Guangzhou asking for a lot of info. Is this what they will send to my fiance in China. It says K-1 instructions with a lot of papers to fill out. some like the bio I already sent in with my first application (1-129). Does anyone knows what I should do with all this stuff. A lot of it is in Chinese.
David, Thanks for the info. This takes so much time, I too will be off to China, Xi'an at the end of July. We hope to be together in the U.S. by the end of the year but after reading all the posts on this site I have little hope.
I went to a local community collage here in New Jersey and took four semesters of colloquial Chinese. It is much better than trying to teach yourself, but tapes are a good addition to practice with. I took courses that helped you commucate not too much on reading the characters. Look around for some courses and you will be surprised how easy it is. When I am in China I have been told many times that they never met an American who spoke “putonghua.”
