If you haven't completed the forms in English yet do so now. Once you ASAP GUZ you'll have to EMS the forms back. When you talk to GUZ they might or might not give you their FAX number to send the forms over. By chance if they give it to you you'll beat the snail mail to white swan.

One month is the usual time frame. It is rare that GUZ will ever accommodate anyone. Unless if you have or can get access to political clout they won't go off their normal time frame.

Congrats and thanks for the info on the interview. It seems like the process is faster. It use to be paperwork in the morning and come back in the afternoon for the interview. If everything is done in the morning you don't waste an entire day standing in line twice and waiting for your name to be called again in the afternoon. Someone's actually starting to think over there.

Even though the visa sticker should be checked by GZ before they stick it onto your SO's passport, they want you to recheck the name, birthday, etc. The packet will contain the paperwork from the Great GUZ from behind the curtain. In turn those papers will wait for your follow up during AOS. Has anyone figured out what type of number is 11185 when they said to check the delivery status? Is it short for 020-38811185? I would assume so, but sometimes assuming something results in assuming the position. For some people it might be very important to check on the status of their visas so I don't want to guess on this number. Some others may be calling from long distance as well so I will not state the beginning numbers are correct since I don't know.

Jun Yuan Post Office 155 Tianhe East Road Guangzhou, China Telephone: 020-38188078 If the visa information does not match the passport information then use their website to contact them (I wouldn't because it would take too long for a response) or fax them at: 020-38844412 You may check the delivery status of your visa by calling 11185 (This number is a puzzle to me) The site will also list how much it will cost for a pick up or delivery. 20 RMB for pickup. I just wanted to clearify what I said above. If you really know that she'll marry you no matter what her parents say, then you can start your petition if you have some pictures of both of you together to send in now. This is just for saving time. You should wait for her parents blessings to be safe. Set the camera to stamp the date on the pictures. Whatever you decide you should bring all the forms to China in November and fill them out there. Some info can be filled out before you leave for China. Once you're back in the states send the petition in immediately. Start gathering in separate folders emails, phone records, and etc. to your SO.

Once you have pictures of the both of you together start your petition and send those pictures in with it. If you have pictures of yourself with her family that would have been better. I would'nt wait until I meet with her parents in November just to have those pictures sent with the petition. Three more months means more waiting time added. You may submit family pictures at the interview. You have a long waiting time for whatever type of petition you decide to file. If you file now or not, start looking through the forms now. This way you can start gathering the information that you will need from her in the future. Go to the CFL links for further info. This is a caution about filing the petition before you have met her parents. You have to know her well enough to judge what she will do if her parents say "NO". Write none. Hong Kong is part of China now. It use to be hard to go to Hong Kong and they would have to apply to go there. Only a privileged Official or business person can go to HK. Presently any Chinese can apply to go to Hong Kong. Now they're even thinking that over and in the future they might not even have to apply.

You have to take some pictures if you go. The lit buildings, boats, bridges, etc. is nice. We didn't do the dinner thing though.
