DHL tracking from NVC...
ed and ying replied to Beermann's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
I researched this extensively in my pre P3 crazy days. It is the I-730 package you want to watch forget about the others. DHL Global and DHL Usa give different format reports - Have fun, email me if you have any detailed questions. Like GUZ, DHL is not so consistent - package can be in clearance delay but on reported as such in the tracking, once you learn their lingo, you know where the package is and if it is moving -
Congratulations, Great news !! I am in the chute and all this good news is great

Congratulations !!! But really tell me it is not true - You were in hotel watching TV

Amerchin, I would surely call/email to check. But this might help you fell better: My guess is that DOS uses the letter date as the sent date Ying's P4 letter was dated Aug 30, but the EMS tracking shoed it was not picked up from GUZ until about 5 pm on Friday. She got it on the 4th. Maybe yours just missed EMS pickup Friday, with embassy close on Monday, hopefully it is in EMS hands now

Homeprincess I think the real American tradition is that the bride should control the wedding. Do what is special to you and your SO. It is your day, take control and forget about what others may expect. Work with your SO. to create your moment that fits your budget, etc. Nothing else is important, what everyone will remember is your union

Congratulations, Bring her home !! Thanks for info for members that will follow you Best wishes on your new life together!!!! Ed -
Amerchin, Thanks ! I feel your worry, the process is so crazy. Despite a few emails to GUZ and calls to DOS, I could never get a direct confirmation or date that namecheck was completed. It stressed me, that some folks got this info and I could not.

Ying got her P4, one month earlier than predicted. Her interview is 10/20. Hopefully this is omen that the wait time is shrinking. It was quite a shock. We have been discussing for several weeks if this round of P4 would show sign of shorter wait times. We were hoping for interview to come early, but resigned ourselves to a October P4. We were discussing (via telephone) as Ying walked home from the store. All of a sudden she says "OMG, OMG". I panic, ask whats wrong, then in shaky voice she says " My P4 come, My P4 come " Sure enough EMS left a note that they would return at 4 pm that afternoon to deliver. It was a sleepless night until I got the call at 3:45 am that it was the P4. I was worried, it was in something like we lose your P3, etc. Guess I better get busy, Best wishes and luck to everyone else waiting !!!

Notarial Certificate???
ed and ying replied to Dogderf's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
These documents will be collected either at the medical or her interview. Make sure you have these documents from her Notary office, including a certified English translation of these: 1. Birth certificate 2. Single certificate and/or divorce decree 3. Police report, less than 6 months old at time of interview. Make sure keep one copy of the birth certicate, you will need it later here in the USA. -
her families visa for wedding
ed and ying replied to izus's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
There have been been several threads about getting toursit visas for family members, a search should reveal them. Our gov does not look at the reaon for the tourist visa request, they look for a reason that the person will return to China. They own business, have property, have money, have strong family ties, etc, etc. Appears to be very difficult to get visa without meeting this critera. -

Carl, Not to be the bearer of bad news, But when I was waiting for our packet to make it to GUZ, I did some extensive research into the process. The evidence of many shipments showed me and experience confirmed that our papers are in a package that carries a "I-730" reference. If you think your papers left NVC on 7/21, they are probably in this package. Tracking results detail for 7550172442 Tracking summary Current Status Clearance Delay.
