1. Give the Service Centers a break, it not like they determine how many folks in a region are going to request service or decide they can transfer cases. Last time I checked, Nebraska was tasked with handling the higher priority cases for military service folks. As long as there are regional centers to spread the federal largess, some will be quicker, some will be slower. History show the honor of slow/fast service center rotates.
2. Amerchin I think your interview will go fine. Glad to see you are also moving along quickly. Oct 20, 2005 must have been one of those lucky days.
3. Good luck and best wishes !!! Hope you are both home in Illinois soon !!!
4. I am glad to hear this, Well I will be prepared if they need any information or explanation. I think the closer I get to our date, the more things run through my head. This has happen so fast and I was not even thinking I would get a date prior to June...... Carl & Haixia 208826 Good luck Carl, I think I know what you are thinking - I wondered a bit if there would be doubt about our relationship. I just said to heck with it, here it is, this is who we are.
5. Congrats !! For some forms they wanted two returned, I don't remember which ones, but it could not hurt to send two. Good luck !!
6. It is difficult to predict what will happen with any case. Just tell the truth and hide nothing and be prepared. I met Ying more than a year before my divorce was final. We had several visits before my divorce was final. The I-129F was filed the same month my divorce was final - none of this was a issue for us. Our relationship carried us through this !!
7. Thanks for all the best wishes !! The process is so crazy, last year this time we were just hoping to get out of "SlowBraska" in a good time. What followed NOA2 was beyond our hope or expectation. Why ??????? Good luck to all in the journey !!
8. I don't know for sure, but think the 2 year wait to file I-129F and the 10 visits may have helped ????
9. Two emails ( actually six) in 16 hours. The first stated she was approved and GC was ordered. The second was that the welcome notice was mailed. Never imagined the last part of process would go so quickly, this time last year still waiting for NOA 2 from Nebraska - looks like AOS took about same time as NOA2, a little over 90 days It is so nice to get short vacation from the process !!!! Good luck to all that are still waiting
10. Congratulations !!!! and thanks for info on the interview .
11. Shentaro Congratulations !!! - Good luck !!! Ying's interview was on Thursday, we picked up visa on Saturday. It is the same as Monday thru Friday
12. Thanks Lee, just wanted to see if his SO's mother could actually go into the interview or not. In this American Services side you have no chance to be part of the process or anything in the interview, right? 201733 Correct, only your fiance, wife or involved child is allowed to particpate in the interview. Everyone else just waits. I waited oustide for awhile, the went to the coffee shop - I was never in the consulate - any side
13. I am sure she is ready to go, but has things to take care of in China, that cannot be started until she knows she has the visa. China is not like the US. Things can go quickly or they can go very slowly. You cannot predict. They are just trying to plan ahead, which is a good idea. My China experience has been that promises, commitments, schedules, etc can be very flexible - you just have to go with the flow. 201718 You got that right, time is relative, but usually a distant one you don't think about often. If you can't go with the flow it can get very expensive to push things along. 201722 Lee you got that right. Pay to expedite is fairly common in all nornal transactions, when Ying need a relpacment ID card, she could get it quicker for a fee. We did not need it quicker, she did not pay. Some things cannot be expedited for a fee, or cannot be expedited, fee or not, unless you have some influence (guanxi sp? ) on your side. Ying's brother, a policemen, was no doubt a factor in getting one day turnaround on our notary/translation stuff . You could see the now ancient post on police car ride back to hotel

15. Lee PM me the details for Sat night, resturant/hotel, I have to pickup a truck in Missouri sometime, Maybe I can do it this weekend. Hated to bow out of Chicago, see if I can make it this time
16. Wish we could join you, but Ying returns on 4/3. I will be busy cleaning and putting the house back in order I don't want this to happen Congrats on interview date
17. See this post http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16750 If it was me, I would make every effort to enter within the 6 months, save the bother and worry about the extension being approved or interview being rescheduled
18. I was also armed to the teeth for SSN problems. but also went smmoth as slik, including the return visit to get replacement card in here new family name. Ken, we got married in Vegas and loved it. A few hints - you can go the Clark county website where you and Jie can fill out the marriage applications ( you both need one) print them and take them with you. Send the request for the certified copies of marriage certificate when you return - ignore any mail you get about expedited services. The Valley of Fire state park, is just 1 hour to the northeast, very cool. Best Wishes !!!
19. Make sure she has both copies when she leaves, on return the POE will keep one and give the other one back.
20. Think of the DOS "mailed" date as a ready to mail date. Yings' P4 did not leave GUZ until 3 days later - found this out by checking the number on Ying's package after it arrive, it was 3 days over the weekend to make it to Ying in Beijing. She should have it soon !!!! Good luck !!!
21. Yea watch the taxi drivers in Guangzhou, many, many, seemed to be devious. I should note that our first and only visit ( interview) was during the Trade Fair. maybe they felt more bold. The driver from the airport refused to use the meter, I told Ying not to worry. When we arrrived at the hotel and he stated the price, I tossed him a 100 RMB note, abit less than if he used the meter. Despite his protests, we just got our things and walked in the hotel - the doorman had a big grin. Maybe it was the Trade Fair, but both Ying and I rank Guangzhou pretty far down the list of China cities - never happier to get on the plane back to Beijing
22. Hi Trevor, don't have any answers for you - just want to give our best wishes !!!
