Flights to Guangzho

When attempting to make airplane reservations through Travelocity, this came up as the first and only result:

Where are all the cheap flights? Flights to Beijing are > $1800 and flights to Hong Kong are hovering around $900+. All those same flights were ~$800 just a couple months ago. <rant>The airlines are making no money?</rant>

 

Can anybody give me the "hookup?"

I got Cory a great bargain from the NWA website. He will fly over GZ from Columbus, OH next Tue and fly back on May 3rd. The price is around $550. Timing is very important. We found in June the price goes up to around $1200. That's why we moved our vacation plan from June to Apr.

hey squid check nwa they have some great fares right now till may 6th. I got mine in June with a six month return Fresno to shanghai for 1070 on NWA. also check out the best travel store they have some of the best fares!

I agree NWA is the way to go. For flights to China, I have used a travel agent out of Hawaii...Thomas Zhuang from East West Best Travel. Great guy and awesome deals! The website is www.ewbt.com. Hope that helps.

Air China has reasonable fares from west coast cities. Korean Air with it's code share partner Delta has reasonable fares also. F(orget) American and United. They are so outrageous they smell. Continental can sometimes also be reasonable.

Not only free fare but open bar for the trip!

 

I did find some <$1000 roundtrip for May. Prices go up by another $400 after that. Summer must be deemed as a popular time to go to China.

Try http://www.bt-store.com/ they have some good prices. However, I noted price go up about $400 around mid June. I got mine for early June, less then $1000 for a direct flight on Cathay Pacific ... actually its cheaper then my first flight last June.

Forgot to mention, I am going into Hong Kong -- which is less expensive then going direct to China Mainland for whatever reason. The bus costs about $20 to cross the border -- so still a good price.

I use Sun Travel Agency in LA. 818-989-8740. R/T LAX-GUZ-Nanning $890 April 20. They will also obtain the visa for a small fee. Yes, prices do rise for the "peak" summer period, the Guangzhou Trade Show, and the May Day Holiday. They often have fares I can not match on the Internet.
