If her English is good, then go for one of the reasonable online dating sites.

Asian Friend Finder. http://asiafriendfinder.com

Cherry Blossoms http://www.blossoms.com/ (This one I ultimate met my wife on) Is reasonable.

Match.com

CHNLove is more of a IMB and charges I would avoid.

Some of the IMB provide translator service, however the big issue many have found with this is that the western person really does not get to know the overseas person, they only get to know the translator.

Other option is looking for a dating site that specializes in matching Chinese speakers.

On a side note, we know a couple who randomly met via QQ, she was looking for an English speaker, and he had accidentally left the program running that default log on when starting up. So you never know.

Got it. That was what I was thinking. Perhaps her sister might need to translate for her. Thanks!!

The Chinese woman I visited before meeting my wife used a translator. The translator was a gentle, sweet woman and bore no resemblance to the woman I visited. When I was introduced to the translator, I could tell immediately who she was.

I would strongly advise against using a translator.

Without a way to communicate, what sort of relationship could there be? Cook, clean, s***, f*** ???

That may not be all bad, but I prefer that my wife be a friend and partner.

Maybe you can play matchmaker and introduce sis to someone. ;)

Yeah right.....all my buddies aready see me living on the corner of the roof. <_< Do you know of someone? She is really cute and actually surpasses my wife in the anger department. She is 36 and can kick the living shit out of any man that makes her angry. Any takers Dennis? :rotfl:

"Her English is zilch." So then, what are her other assets? Successful business woman or banker? CEO of an international corp.? Drop dead looks?

The point being, communication (not just in bed) is fundamental to the process. We haven't yet arrived at the point where the US male needs to be fluent in one of the Chinese languages, so its still her obligation to get up to speed in English... Have to believe she must be older, since most bright Chinese, high school and lower now have some English. Is she taking classes?

In the same boat

=============

My stepdaughter wants to find an American husband. She is 27, never married, no kids, good looking, bright, articulate, great cook, graduate degree and a good job in for an American company in Beijing. She has excellent English skills. She lived in England for seven years while she went to college and grad school there. She also worked as an English/Chinese interpreter several summers.

She is trying match.com and has what I think is a very good profile there (my wife and I helped her edit it). I thought match.com might be better than one of the other China based sites as her profile might be more unique there, rather than just one in a sea of 10,000 Chinese girls. Unfortunately, the results have been poor.

Her requirements are not too picky. She is looking for someone 28-39 without kids, who is single/divorced and college educated. Almost all of her contacts on match.com have been from people whose profiles show they do not fit what she is looking for. The few good contacts she has received tend to "back away" when they find out she is in Beijing (which is clearly disclosed in several places on her profile). She applied for an immigration visa last year so as an umarried Chinese woman under 40 I'm guessing she will not be able to get a travel visa to come to the US to meet someone (unless the new Obama travel announcement changes things)

Any suggestions?

ps - My stepdaughter actually has a great personality, like my wife does, so she would really make someone a great wife. She is not coming for a green card as she has a great job in Beijing. She just has always been interested in Western culture and she wants/needs to find a husband. Unfortunately at almost 28 years old, most of the marriage eligible guys in China are already engaged or married.

( I think this is probably true in USA as well - my 23 year old American daughter basically said the same thing to me when she got engaged last year.)

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hmmm....let's see now...

Attractive twenty something woman whose got an explosive personality but is willing to give it up to anyone who will petition her to come to the US and willing to put up with her tirades and then hope and pray that she'll at least give it up once in a while in order to keep the hook embedded to keep the poor sap hoping for more...

Yeah, sounds great. Where do I sign my single (used to be) friends up? :)

I have a niece about the same age (28) has sang professionally and toured with a Chinese company twice in to the USA, Canada and other countries. She teaches private lesson in voice and piano in Beijing ... and she's beautiful ... but no real prospects around.
