robhon
GZ says they don't have any record of our case. NVC says our case was forwarded to GZ on Sept 5. All the DHL shipments around that time (Sept 5 and Sept 8) show as having been delivered. Anyone have any idea how to shake our case free of this void? Yes, I'm emailing GZ IVunit once a week. BillT
I have called GZ many times, and gave up upon actually talking to a human being the first time. All they do is constantly repeat, "Your case is not on file." (And I could hear him typing on the computer in the background.) I specifically asked him how long it would take for our case to get in to their system after it reached the consulate, and he said "About 2 months." We're in the same situation, just a few days later - our case was delivered to the consulate on Sept. 12, 2003 at 10:03 in the morning (via DHL). When they say your case is not on file, they mean it's not in their computer system and they're not about to get up and actually look for the thing! Seeing as how we're up against a hard deadline (our application expires Oct. 30, 2003 according to the latest communication from BCIS), I have a call in to my congressman's office. But it seems I'm in a waiting line there, too. We'll see in the next couple days if they actually help us out. Am I confused, or are we doing things according to US law? If US law says that things will be done in a certain order and within a certain time, shouldn't that thing be DONE? Immigration law was written for a reason, and as good citizens we can do nothing but adhere to that. Our own government is fighting against the very people who are trying to obey the law. Okay, I'll stop here because I'm ranting. Have a nice day! (sarcasm fully intended) Bill and Fengjuan Link to comment

Rob, Don't worry. Based on all the mailing timeframes since the great Customs crisis in July, either your mail is being processed "in order that they receive it" or it may still be in stuck somewhere. It's been one month and three days since NVC mailed it. Looking at the norms now, it's too early for GZ to say they have it. Sorry...which I could be more up beat. Hang in there....... http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/0/hanged.gif (No...not like that) Link to comment
robhon
Yeah, you know recently, for some odd reason, Reagan's words to Gorbechov came into my head.... Only I rearranged them. "Mr Bush, tear down this wall!" (referring to the wall we all are confronting on this site.) I now actually have a child with my wife here and am facing going home in two weeks without them. Still, the response I get from GZ is all of two sentences. The same one's I'm sure everyone else here has read. "We don't have your case... blah blah blah." Well, we know you have it you just haven't processed it. Why can't they even just be honest about it???? If I'm not mistaken, your deadline shouldn't be an issue. I believe the date gets automatically extended. You should double check that, though. Link to comment

Because many petitions often expire before an applicant can be interviewed, officers at the Consulate routinely extend the validity of K-1 petitions." http://www.usembassy-china.org.cn/guangzho...u/iv/kvfaq.html Link to comment

STILL too excited.......not sleeping well these days. Spend the time thinking, planning, researching......it's not healthy. 3 AM Feedings? What's that? Can't I just give the kid chopstix and leave a bowl of rice in the crib? BTW: Congrats on your new governor! http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/j0/readpb.gif Link to comment

I'm pretty sure I'm in the same batch. I've been e-mailing GZ and my fiancee has been calling them, but still nothing. I know of at least one other case in our batch that hasn't gone through.. I was looking forward to a possible Thanksgiving arrival, now it is looking more like Christmas. Link to comment

One of their replies will acknowledge your case and with P3 mailed. Hopefully it will be very soon. It is like you remarked one time that your mailing date was at the beginning of the "pile." GZ seems to handle cases in bunches. Go figure!... Link to comment

Mick
Rob, my guess is that your case is there but hasn't been entered into the system yet. Remember, it seems all cases require a certain period of incubation on the mailroom floor. Further, GZ has often stated they didn't have a case or didn't have clearance for the case just before the case was resolved. As I mentioned once before, the case of AngryTexan, one of the original Black Holers, is a prime example. He received e-mail response from GZ that his fiance still was not cleared about ten days after they had already picked up her visa. Remain proactive of course, but don't panic. At least not yet. Guest jimb
I think I am getting ready to panic. I was informed by NVC that my case was forwarded to GZ on 23 July. I have been emailing GZ about every 10 days. i recieved a few replies stating the case was under processing. The last two I received are simular to the one stating they have not received the case yet. I think I am going backwards here insteat of moving forward.jimb -----Original Message-----From: jimbnh@prodigy.net [mailto:jimbnh@prodigy.net]Sent: Thursday, September 04, 2003 9:25 AMTo: GuangzhouIVform@state.govSubject: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Dear Harold J.
