Her Signature

Question on her signature on the forms.

 

She has practiced her signature in english for sigining of the forms. She learned to write it the way Americans do, Given name then family name. Is this correct, even though she is Chinese? Where it asks for her name in chinese she writes it the traditional way, Family name then given name. Should she sign it this way? Or the American way?

How would she normally sign something?

 

Your signature is your own and should be what she is comfortable signing. Practicing an Americanized signature is fine, but not necessary.

 

It's a good idea here in the states, though.

Do it normal for the legal documents. You can worry the correct way not to confuse American's later.

there isn't really a standard for signature, she can scribble if she wants

Yizhen uses her native signature, it is in her passport, and it is now used for everything. She prints her name in English, but she signs with her Chinese Signature. Mike & Yizhen

I signed my name like &%(*%#$, just like how a sign on my credit card. it is not print name. crazy like messed wool.. I hope it would not cause a problem....

All the Docs my wife signs, she prints her name in English, no signature yet in English, we haven't got that far yet

why not do both? A sig is just a symbol that is a representation of your self's intent or acceptance to a legal obligation.

Let face it, how many times can you really read someone's signature. I can barley read my own.

 

I had Li Hong sign hers using Chinese symbols (her Chinese signature). She says she can tell the difference if someone else wrote them. Who am I to say????
