We took a bus to the Oriental Pearl Tower, great place to see and experience. The view was fantastic, but planning a trip so that you can see the sunset would have been prudent.

Some of the windows were dirty so that interfered with the photo's but I can't imagine how they could be cleaned. To go to the hightest point, 350 meters, cost $150 rmb. If I remember right a meter is about 3' (?)

As you can tell the smog was bad, but probably would have enhanced the sunset with an orange sky. The weather was nice but a bit on the cool side with the wind blowing made it feel chilly.

Ahhhh...the memories. :) The sky looked exactly the same the day we went. Still a pretty spectacular view. Thanks for posting them. Keep up the fun and the good work. :P

Walking around the tower, no matter which way you look, the city is the only sight to see, even without the smog I suppose that would have been true. Despite being so high, and with the wind kicking up, I could not feel any movement while we were in the tower.

Getting on the elevator for the ride up, people are so anxious to go that they try to crowd on, a warning buzzer goes off and the young Chiinese woman tells them that we are over weight and to please step off.

Of course in the tower observing area they try to sell many things, key rings, pens, souvenir coins, etc...but they also had a model of the space shuttle and F-16 fighter jets, I thought how did those end up here? Weird, but someone must be buying them.
