Dennis143
Some closing thoughts... They have sought me out like the faithful following of an evangelistic faith healer. They are all wanting my help in finding them an American husband. I have tried to kindly explain that the pool of men is small and possibly the pool of GOOD men make it even smaller, especially compared to the very large pool of women seeking a west man for a husband. I tell them that it isn't impossible, however. That the luck of the draw on an introduction site is the best way instead of seeking my help. Trip and slip hazzards. I swear that if I didn't walk with my head down (not so easy with so many pretty distractions ) that I would have tripped on, banged into, slipped on wet, polished sidewalk marble (after the many rains), or fallen into some 6"wide x 10"deep, square-edged gutter that simply houses some 1" pipes so people won't trip on them. I hate cell phones even more. Such an obtrusive gadget. Everyone seems to go about life with them up to their heads, yelling or speaking loudly with a devil give a damn if it annoys anyone attitude. Leiqin couldn't figure out how to shut her lent phone off at night, so many times we were awaken in the wee hours by some "friend" asking for help in finding a husband. "Tell her that her husband isn't here." I'd plead to Leiqin who never got the joke. Edited July 12, 2008 by Dennis143 (see edit history) Link to comment

Dennis143
Various photos: Suning drove, Xiening, Leiqin back to visit the farms they worked on during Mao's Great Leap Forward. It had been 30 years since these 3 have have been back. All three worked on farms that were in walking distance to each other.http://i37.tinypic.com/2vn3m08.jpg They found Leiqin's farm first...http://i33.tinypic.com/23rlfg1.jpg This 30 year old woman lives at the farm today:http://i36.tinypic.com/m7djps.jpg The now coverd well where Leiqin used to carry water back to the house:http://i33.tinypic.com/35lyofs.jpg The fields she worked in for 3 years:http://i38.tinypic.com/2gsr0qc.jpg Link to comment
