Congressman or Senator Assistnace

I have been waiting 11 months for the background namecheck to be completed. During this time, I have contacted my Congressman' s office for help. The only result that I got was several emails from the Guangzhou Consulate telling me to wait for the namecheck. Next, I contacted my Senator's Office for help. They followed the same rountine. Has anyone had any success from having either one of these elected officials help?

I've contacted my representative and my senator about this FBI name check. Neither one has been able to really help me. I don't think that they are very anxious to get involved in FBI matters. It seems like they don't want to step on any toes.

 

However, there is a hard core group of us here on Candleforlove who are dedicated to getting our story out to the media. We could sure use your help. Every voice counts in our struggle to get our story out to the media.

I can only tell you to keep after the Senators and Congressman. Most of them don't want to get involved with Visa business, but I had one congressperson who was very helpful and when out of her way and pounded on the INS (BCIS), but she died and since than the new people in office wouldn't help. It has lots to do with the aids in their office that screen all things that come in. Don't give up and never get nasty with them, there may come a time where you will need them. If one offers any help, send a small token, that way they feel they need to help.

If you can get them to get involved, do. I don't think it hurt us at all that the Senator's office made inqiries to GZ about our status.

I found my Congressperson's office pretty lame. The aide that was assigned to my case could barely keep the facts of my case straight. Literally, after speaking with him three times he couldn't remember that Youyue and I were married. He'd say things like, "Your case can be expedited by filing for a K visa." That we were a K-3 was something I had made clear from the beginning. Jeez!

 

In the end, after finally calling his boss saying I felt he wasn't competent, he made one phone call to the NVC only to tell me what I already knew, "Your case is pending in security check."

 

We've contacted other Congressional offices but they all defer to the office for the constituent.

 

Other people here might have had better luck. My experience was dismal.

Well, I think they are all busy now with preparing for the new elections. Who cares for us?

 

Only a few good men out there, who really would help us.

 

But, they are so swamped with their stuff already:(

Yeah, I think they considered my situation, with my wife being pregnant, to be a "special circumstance." Therefore they took on my case and did far less than I'd already done.

 

I think it's fairly similar to striking out in Tee ball!

My congressman is the honorable Earl Blumnenauer. He hasn't deemed to answer any of my letters. I wrote every representitive in Oregon I could find an email address for. The only one that answered was congressman David Wu's assistant Holly Null. All she would do is fax my info to Earls office since I'm not in his district. Some big help huh?

The Governor of Oregon used to be a MD/don't know if he is still the GOV. Write him for his assistance. He is a good man and if moved, will contact your Senator. The Senator will want to please the Gov.
