China Tourist Visa

Recommended Posts

Corbin,

Yes, I have used them numerous times and I have had zero issues with them. Emailed me upon receipt each time and provided return dates on every visa and received it prior to the date they stated. Price is comparable to most others that offer the same.

Go for the one year "L" multiple entries. The visa will be returned to you in your passport and read that your stay is valid for 120 days after entry.

There was a post on this recently about the length of stay after entry, so I am not sure if the 120 days is valid, but I am assuming so since it is a Chinese visa issued by them.

Go shopping with no worries with VisaRite.

I have used three services without any issues.

They were all quick, efficeint and friendly.

My preference is mychinavisa. I received an email to confirn they received my application. They use the Huston consulate. I needed a single entry visa for two weeks and my son needed a single for 60 days. We both ended up with a single 90 day visa. So besides looking at the service, I would look at which consulte the service uses.

Corbin,

Note C4's post above. Apparently it does make a difference what consulate the visa issuing company uses. VisaRite uses a consulate that gives the 120 days after entry type visa for the one year mulitple entry "L" visa. To most of us this will make no difference as my longest stay has only been one month, but it is nice to know we have the choice to stay longer if so needed.

Read of each type visa and how many days after entry it will be good for on each site. C4 has listed some other good choices.

For anyone in the DC Metro area, Chinese Visa Express is a good service to use. I have used them for two visa's and had no problems. My emails were always answered when I had questions.

I wanted a 90 day visa and was told I needed to write the visa officer to request an extended stay. The normal visa is only for 60 days.

I've been given the 90 visa even without asking...

I think a number of these types of visa services are good (I've used two different ones in Texas)...

What I recommend is that you call them and tell them what you want and see if they provide that type of visa and length of time... If yes, then use them...

I think I saw these people "VisaRite" mentioned on CFL before. Have any of you used them and were you happy with their service?

One can go through the consulate themself, or use a Visa Service to do it for them...

I'm sure it's a little cheaper to do it yourself, but don't you have to go in person or is mail-in allowed to the consulate?

This I know you have two choices, go in person or use a visa service. Now I would go in person if I lived closer to Chicago but the cost of gas is getting high and I would spend major dollars to get there and back.

:) $$$ GAS $$$

$80 to fill my gas tank :D

If I use one of the visa service places does it matter what consulate they use if I'm from Michigan?

No, it does not matter. I have used different visa services that have used San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Huston. No problems at all.

The Chinese consulate in Chicago takes care of the following states:

CO, MO, IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, AND MN. :P

They "may" take care of other areas but it not guaranteed! That is directly off there and many services web page. Good Luck! :Dah:
