Right now it seems my main interest is to get Jianling here with me. I have been consumed boys, and I'm a better man because of Jianling...
  1. I tried to efile a 1040, married filing jointly but the software rejected it because my SO has not been in the US for six months and is a NRA. I also called the IRS 800-1040 number and got NO help, so here I am. My SO arrived here in Sept. 2008 and we were married in Oct. of last year. She received her SSN card and we filed the I-765 and I-485 together. Since filing, she has received her Employment Status Auth. but has not worked, so we are only reporting one income. From what information I've gathered here on CFL it looks like I will have to file the paper form 1040 as married filing jointly to be good. If there is anything else I need to be made aware please comment. You all have been a great help to me, Thank you...
  2. The problem with filing I-102 is that it can take time, and there is a FEE. I would first got to nearest CBP office, and explain that card was not issued or over looked on the flight over, and the CBP officer failed to issue one at the airport, by the entry stamps in passport, the CBP office should be issue an I-94 card dated to that of the entry stamp. OK, Good to have such quick response to my question. I looked at the I-102 instructions and in my case there should be no fee, although the wait time will be a few weeks. Thanks for all of your help.
  3. My SO arrived at Dulles International on 9/09 and went through customs without any problems. She was asked for the package she received from Guangzhou, she turned it over to them and was sent on through. She did not receive an I-94 card. I was wondering if this practice had been stooped or was it an oversite by the customs official? We went to the SSA office here to apply for her SS card and was turned away because she did not have the I-94 and her status had not yet been updated on the USCIS site. We are to be married on 10/18 and would like to have the SS card and state ID when we apply for our licence. Thank you for your help.
  4. My Lao po will come here on 9/09/2008 I started this journey as green as they come and thought this day may never come but it did. It was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I got all of the information I needed right here on this site, and I must say the help I received was excellent. I have not made a lot of posts here but preferred to just listen and learn, and that I did. Thank you all very much for your wisdom and insight.
  5. I'm leaving Washington, DC (IAD) Dulles at 1:00 on Wed. the 23rd and arrive in Nanning at 10:45 on Fri. the 25th. Will be there thru April 22nd.
  6. Hey Dave, My lao po (Jianling) has been doing this to me since day one when we met. At first I thought something was wrong with her memory and that she had forgotten she had already told me whatever it was. Then it started to bug me a little, so I called her on it and asked why she always tells me "I Must do this, or I Must do that". She replied that something was wrong with the translator and it was not using the correct word for "MUST". I bought this explanation for a while until she started saying the same thing in english. It's always "Husband you must" eat! You must rest! You must, etc.,etc.. I have been told well over a hundred times, Husband you must put on the clothes to go outside. I in turn think to myself, does she really think I'm so stupid that I would go outside without putting on clothes? Actually she is telling me to layer up because it's cold out there. I finally figured out the best thing for me to do when she makes these little suggestions is to just say, xie xie wife, thank you. She replies with "You're welcome" (bu keqi). After that all is good and we move on with our conversation. Chuck...
  7. For anyone in the DC Metro area, Chinese Visa Express is a good service to use. I have used them for two visa's and had no problems. My emails were always answered when I had questions. I wanted a 90 day visa and was told I needed to write the visa officer to request an extended stay. The normal visa is only for 60 days. http://www.chinesevisaexpress.com/multiple.htm
  8. You cannot be wrong using either phrase, George Washington "was" and "is" the first President of this country, period.
  9. Damn, I sure hope they don't want that info from me. I have no idea where that B**ch is or what her SS# may be. How does one find out that kind of inforrmation about an ex anyway?
  10. Hi Everyone, I have a question or two, maybe three: How important is it to put together a neat, pretty little package for gov? I did this using the folders and Acco prong fasteners, and those big paper clips decribed here on the forum. I had everything seperated and marked for gov to have an easy time of going through everything. Anyway I made a mistake on my I-129F app. and gov sent everything back to me along with a blue slip. They disasembled the whole package, kept or put the folders, Acco fasteners, and paper clips into file 13. I spent a lot of time and effort putting this package together, and now it is one big pile of loose printed paper. I feel like correcting my I-129F app. and resend everything back to them as it is now. Has this ever happened to anyone else here? If so what did you do before resubmitting your package? Your comments are welcomed.
