I called NVC today and was told my papers were electronically in GZU already. My letter saying they were shipped over to China is dated September 27, 2007. :)

SO, without asking a really open question. How long did most of you that have an interview date already, wait for your P3 to be shipped?

Sorry, I have been calm for awhile after NOA2, but the holidays are coming you all know!!  ;) :D :D

It will be in their system electronicly soon after it leaves NVC, however they wont proceed with the case until they "receive" the paper file, which takes 3 months to clear Chinese customs, as well the consulate's practice of storing them in a warehouse until they are ready for them.

This does not mean they are doing anything, they start the local name check process soon after they receive the electronic file.

It can be anywhere from 1-3 months from NVC out to P3. Quoter from DOS.

Best wishes,

I received our NOA2 notice of action from USCIS in June while I was in China during the Summer but she didn't receive the P3 until the first week of September. So it was about almost three months. You should probably receive it between two to three months. It's really dreadful to wait so long so good luck and hope you receive it soon!

After my Lao po finished her P3 , she mailed it out a week later in September and we called to find out what was going on with our P4 in the first week of October and were told she would receive the interview November 8th.

Don't worry , give it sometime , good luck!

If you already called NVC at 16033340700 and they told you that your form was sent to China and it's in customs, then you've already done what you can. If you have not called, I strongly suggest you do so. You just may get a response, just make sure you have your receipt number of your NOA2. I remember when my family received the letter, I had them photocopy the notice and then called NVC and they issued me a GUZ number. BUT then again, if their in customs you just have to play the waiting game....

Hopefully your lao po will get her P3 soon! Good luck best wishes.

In our case, we're still waiting for the p3 :) It's been 4 months so far...

Did you call DOS?

Thanks for all the help! ;) :(

I normally call the 202-663-1225 number and talk to a "Visa Specialist". I get a person who is short and sweet and only sais the bare minimum. <_< :D

Somebody could have said "Oh they are so much faster lately"!! B)

In our case I knew the estimated time for NVC - P3 was 3 months, so did not bother calling DOS for the 90 days, and then when the 90 days passed I called them once a week for status.

Calling them early after it leaves NVC, is like the kids in the back seat constantly asking "ARE WE THERE YET?" it serves no purpose.

I used the timeline data on VJ, and did some statistical analysis and pegged P3, P4, and interview to within a few days.

A few days shy of 3 months for us after it was shipped. Almost 4 months if you count from the day of NOA2.

I'm hoping the process sticks pretty close to standard time lines from here. 1 month for P4, 1 month more for interview.

I feel like I'm at the old Macintosh "Please wait, loading ..." screen, and my blue progress bar is stuck at 80% ...
