Are the US airlines gonna cancel all the flights?

I checked the news on line and saw the US air lines are considering to ban all the flights from China if the SARS continues.

 

I already got my visa and I plan to finish my work here at the end of June.

If I go at eh end of June, is it possible I CAN'T find a flight? That's horrible.

 

What do you guys think? Should I just leave and forget all the work here? B)

They can't afford to. They barely keep afloat WITH Pacific traffic. Let alone without.

I doubt seriously they would do that, mostly for economic reasons. In the event they do, you might consider alternate routes, like through Mexico, Canada, or some such place. Not sure how this would work but seems like an alternative should the government do something stupid like ban flights from SARS affected areas.

I don't see there being a ban unless things truly get bad in China. Right now it is not that bad yet. They are cutting back on flights because of empty seats, but the Chinese airlines are increasing their flights in an attempt to take over the market that the US airlines back off from.

I heard bagdad stopped all flights for about 3 weeks straight , because of some bad virus that was transmitted by a giant black bird-like creature ; they called it : "stealth" !

Of course not ! As long as planes have wings they will fly !

I know that I talked to Delta last night, and my flight to GZ with them and Asiana Airline are still on, and my return by way of United is still a go.

Many of the airlines have cancelled flights. Jal has cancelled quite a few. They are all cutting down because of the war and Sars because less people are flying. I think by June most of this will be over and flights will go back to normal, but you may wish to book your flight now. This way you will get a cheaper fare and also it will be up to the airline to re-route you if they cancel your flight at the same fair.

This is the true reason for less flights: because less people want to fly. Not to worry.

I got an automated message from Price Watcher that the Beijing to Los Angeles flights are now down to as low as $446 round trip. Can't see them getting any lower. Trying to get the school to agree to reimbursment if I reserve my flight for July now.
