chinadave2001
Sarah and I will be in Beijing for a few days in April. I have already done the Forbidden city, summer palaces, Tiananmen Square, and the city walls of beijing. I was wondering if anyone could suggest fun/interesting/romantic things to and see in Beijng? Thanks! Dave Link to comment
owenkrout
Just south of the Tiananmen Square is the Tiantann (Temple of Heaven) Park. I thought it was one of the nicer places that we visited. Also try the Confucian Temple. See the Lonely Planet guide for information on both. Seems that everytime we go to Beijing we manage to find something new to us. Link to comment
kkimm
Tiantan is very good, in the same location, there is also a wall that could reflect the sound... On the outskirt of Beijing, Ming's tomb (not Yao Ming Ming Dynasty) is also another place for a day trip, though more on history... Link to comment

So they had found there are someone got SARS at Beijing now. So I think you have to better stay home or hotel, it would be safe. Link to comment
bobmal99
If you have not been to the Great Wall then by all means go. I have traveled extensively through out China, Europe, and the US. Wall was one of the most impressive sights I have ever seen. Oh yes get your flu shot. Have fun!!! Link to comment
AZwolfman
It was quite cold and very windy when we visited the Great Wall. But being the outdoorsy athletic type, I enjoyed it - And it was a great workout for working off the pounds I gained from the good cooking of my mother-in-law. I met more English-speaking people there than anyplace. It is almost exclusively Mandarin in Beijing. Link to comment

Nicole
if you would go to the great wall. I think you had better go to the "Si ma tai". you know that there are 8 great walls in Beijing. but it is the best one is si ma tai. the Hu tong is good also. you can feel the old city. Link to comment
