Everyone is so happy lately getting thier Visa's and meeting thier new wifes, I'm very happy for them... I'm wondering, how many are here that is like me, just starting the process. And how long do you anticipate? I'm doing the CR1.

my fiance does not have the same type of visa but it seem's it is longer than any one want' to wait and it seem's to me a average in between each process is about 3 month's or that is kinda how it went for me and i notice for othere's to some time's a little longer some time's a little shorter If I could give any advice which I can not alot some on here are very active and involved in the visa process just start to prepare every thing as soon as possible and look for any thing that might be a problem and adrress it with information that would be helpful in the situation and try to be up beat during the wait's in between

Our NOA was received October 15, 2004 I see yours was received October 16, 2006 maybe our process could help you gauge the time it will take to complete. In all it took us a little over 13 months. Good luck hopefully you can cut some corners.

Thanks, but you did the K3 also, so your timing was much faster.

Please understand I know the timing pretty much. I've been through this before.... but I was wondering how much company I have at this point.

I expect these newly reunitied couple to go offine for extended periods of time

We were cr-1. She has been home for a little over a week, it took 2 years +.

Did your wife first come here under the K3 and went back for the CR1 interview?

We filed both k-3 and cr-1 at the same time, the cr-1 beat the k-3 in completion. My wife waited in China (she did not come here first). Our case was a little unusual as far as the time frame, there was some additional security clearance done. I had to contact my congressman & senater to get/keep the case moving.

Hopefully you will not fall into the same black hole, but be advised and prepaired it can happen.

At what point did you realize you were not moving?

After the name check started, once they hit about 6 months I knew there was a possible delay or at least the potential. I called dos every week for several months and got the same canned response, name check/security clearance still pending. I called and wrote Marty H. office (assistant sec of homeland security) and received a response by letter (about 6 months into the name check and about 1 1/2 yrs into the process) "still pending, security delay". The I contacted my congressman and senators and about a month or so later, she was eligible for an interview. My wife had a cr-1 interview, k-3 fell by the wayside.

Maybe most people know this already, but for CR-1s there were some shortcuts in the NVC process that a lot of people on visajourney.com used to use. I don't know if they still do. They saved some people quite a bit of time.

Please enlighten us.

Hi, I am CR1 without K3, last year same time we start fill in those forms and collect all stuff for it.

I used the visa journey shortcut to shorten the process druing NVC, it works.

Any question about it please ask, I will tell as detail as I can, or you can ask there at visajourney.
