Congratulations. Our interview is next Thursday and I am already a basket case. PM me with your drug of choice, ok??? (Just kidding). I leave for Guangzhou on Friday.

Have a great life.

Mike

Thanks to everybody! I am overwhelmed by the support.

Mike,

Try Hydrocodone! I don't know what happened to me but worrying is just not worth it. The government can be very disorganized but ultimately you succeed in jumping through the necessary hoops. In a few weeks, I will be back to my normal stressful self.

I like your attitude, and admire your ability to remain calm. However, now I wish I haden't flushed those leftover Vicodin I found in the med. cabinet, left over from my wrist surgery.

Hi fewmgf. Good luck to you also. I remember you are going to Nanning, and then backtracking to GZ. My SO and daughter are meeting me at Mr. Yang's place on Sunday. Like I said before, I'll be the tall, American-looking guy holding hands with a shorter Chinese woman.

While us "September" guys don't have the numbers that those "August" guys sent over, we can still make a good showing.

I can't believe this. We have so much in common. If you haven't been to Guangzhou in September you will be in for a real treat with the weather. Last year I went to the zoo. Two hours later we were begging cab drivers to drive me back to the hotel. I did not feel hot but my clothes were soaking wet with the humidity. It was quite embarrassing.

The interview is going on as I type. I should be nervous but I think we have prepared as well as possible. I will post the result soon!

Actually, Bill, my fist visit to China was almost exactly one year ago. Last week in September and the first week in October. It's when I met the "Wheel Man", Paul who posted just before me. Sensibly, I had a lot of shorts with me.

My second visit was the end of March into April. I met up with "pushbrk" Mike that time. My SO convinced me that I would need longer pants due to the "Cooler" weather, (she does not like short pants), so I brought all long jeans. Well, it rained half the time I was there, and the day I left the predicted high temp was 94 degrees. I know exactly what you mean about humidity. I have already told that for this trip, I will bring two pairs of long pants...1 blue jean-type, and some dress slacks for the "celebration" dinner with the family. The rest will all be SHORTS.

When will she be coming to the States?

Michael -

Hey, I just wanted to tell you to have a safe, good and exciting trip - you lucky dog. I am seriously and unremittingly jealous of you right now - but - at the same time happy and intoxicated with the thought of getting to see my sweetheart soon myself. My plate is way, way too full at present to consider leaving the US right now and there is still the issue of her dad that doesn't seem to want to go away. She asked the other night if she couldn't come to the US in December of January 2007 - indicating that things for him must be coming to a close. I've issued condolences to her on more than one occasion to which she says, "No, don't say that." And when I wanted to know why I shouldn't say I'm sorry, she said it's because he will live in my heart forever. Well, I know that is right as this girl has one of the sweetest hearts I've ever found, so her daddy will indeed travel with her from now on. Anyway, being united with her is still a ways aways but maybe a trip for me there could happen as early as October or December. But for now, we want to send our best wishes to you for your China tirp and best wishes always from now on, ok. Go by the restaurant where we met and have some fried rice for all of us. And don't forget, you both will be in our thoughts and prayers!

Your's truly,

Wheel Man

Mike,

I leave on September 12 and get there on the 14th. We leave together to come back on the 19th. So she will be here on the 19th as of right now. She is going to hate the food here. We will try and hit chinatown here in Atlanta on the 20th or so. Good food is something that is really important to her I have noticed. This will be tough on her here in Atlanta.
