  1. Congratulations! I'm very happy for you both!
  2. Thanks Michael and Manyun, and everyone else. The interview went pretty smooth for us. They asked a few typical questions: Where did you meet? How many times has he visited. What kind of work does he do? Maybe a couple others, nothing hard or too specific. Seems like the interview and the visa were the easy things for us looking back, lol. After that it was a non-stop flurry of traveling, dinners with friends, family and relatives, and constant back aches from those foam covered rocks they call beds Let me say that our thoughts and prayers have been with you, Michael and Manyun, since hearing the outcome of your interview. I know it was heartbreaking and if there is anything at all I could do to help you I would. All I can offer is hang in there and I have confidence you will overcome this obstacle. Best wishes and warmest regards.
  3. I just read this on another site: http://uschinak1.com/ I have no idea how dated this report is though.
  4. This is the exact mistake we made, and caused a bit of a headache to get corrected by phone. We filled out the first and second sylable as first and middle name, which was incorrect.
  5. Ours is next Wednesday Best of luck to you I'm leaving for Nanning/Guangzhou on the 8th also
  6. Makes you wonder if some of these VO's don't just wake up on the wrong side of the bed and take it out on the fiancee's
  7. The exact thing happened to us. What we did was my fiancee called the embassy and told them of the mix up. They simply requested her to send a copy of her birth certificate and passport. She sent these in with a letter of explanation that I prepared for her. I think it was then sent back to the states for further name check approval, but it did not seem to increase our wait time much. By the time she got P3 it was showing the correct spelling. We had also contacted USCIS some time before to correct her name on the original petition, but the correction apparently not been made in time to be reflected on the letter NVC sent giving us the case number. I had a referal number for this corrective action. edit: is it correct on the I129f?
  8. specifically what phone number, and what department / call center did you speak with? Where in the process did you make the correction, and to whom (USCIS, DOS, NVC, GUZ)... I called the USCIS Customer Service Number 800 375-5283, shortly before NOA2. Told them I had made a mistake and asked if there was anyway to correct it. They said it wasn't a problem and made a typo correction over the phone after verifying some information.
  9. if it bothers you, you can call and make a typo correction over the phone. I had to do that and it was no problem.
