can we sue?

Can we sue the government over this delay problem. It seems they are treating us unfairly. Of course it would take a long time to resolve and will not solve our immediate problem but could return some gratification. It would also help the future K visa applicants. We could each get enough to cover plane fare or something as a group. Any thoughts on this?

An interesting thought. Sue DOS and add names of high officials as defendants.

Attacking the pockets of individuals will get more attention than the deep pockets

of the Federal Government. If you can sue and win against McDonald's for loss

of affection caused by a cup of hot coffee we can win. We need to find that lawyer

and the venue that case was in.

Of course you can sue but you will not win. First, the government has unique protections against lawsuits and second, although YOU may feel you have been damaged, the courts would not agree. The suit would be tossed out in a minute and you could add legal costs to the rest of your woes. That money is better spent on plane tickets.

Also, there has been no discrimination and there has been no violation of civil rights.

 

Would you sue the state because you had to wait in line longer than you wished for a driver's license? Don't be absurd.

Also all the INS would say all these changes are necessary because of security issues which obviously they can not discuss. Not a bad idea, maybe you could sue for their obvious incompetance!!

Instead of suing the government, we will direct our energies and time on building a happy life together and try our hardest to make up for the years that the government has taken from us.
