My wife went to her interview this morning. Her interview time on her appointment letter was 7:15 AM. She was interviewed by an American woman who spoke Chinese. Her interview was actually at 9:15 AM and she was leaving the consulate by 10:00 AM. Picked up passport Saturday.

 

She asked how we meant and when.

 

Current employment verification paperwork.

 

What my job is.

 

How many times I had been to China and for how long each trip.

 

Wanted to see my itinerarys of my trips to China.

 

When I was divorced.

 

Asked about my family.

 

And looked at our photos.

 

My wife told her I speak a little Chinese, Hello, Thank You, watermelon, I love you forever, very full, bathroom, bye bye, all the time the visa officer was laughing.

 

My wife said she was a very nice woman and enjoyed and laughed while looking at our pictures.

 

What a relief to have finally completed the process and be able to bring my wife home.

 

I am very lucky to have discovered A Candle for Love, I gained a lot of information from your post and from the advice others were able to give me, Thanks to everyone for your help and support and good luck to all who are still waiting.

I'd be interested in finding out more about those itineraries. I am sending my wife photocopies of my airline and train tickets, and she has a photo album of the hundreds of shots I took while I was there, but I don't have an itinerary, per se. I suppose I could dig up my airline reservation off their archive, but we stayed at her family home most of the time, or at hotels we just called ahead an hour on (my wife is *good* at getting cheap rates at 4 star hotels).

 

And of course - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The itineraries I am refering to were my airline resevations showing the dates of my trips to China, going and returning. We have a home in China so we also could not show any reservations of staying in China which wasn't requested.

Heartiest congratulations!

 

We are all very lucky to have discovered CFL. Our group has made a seemingly unbearable situation a lot better. Like the "I'm Sparticus" in the movie of that name.

 

We're all Sparticus here - all in the same boat and all supporting one and other as we need it.

 

Imagine if we had a government that created something like this to help its citizens deal with such an agonizing monster as the K-1, K-3, CR-1 visa process? That would be quite a utopia.
