stacato
Hi everyone,I divorced my American wife after 15 years of marriage. I met my Lao Po while I was seperated, and we married approximately 1 month after I got my final divorce. I recently sent the I130 petition to the CSC. Could this be a problem? Is there a mandatory wait time between a divorce and a new marriage?Your answers would be appriciated. Link to comment

castaway109
Just be sure and write a letter that explains when you separated from you wife, how long you waited for the divorce, how and when you meet your SO...etc. Link to comment

I had been separated for over 1 year, she for over 2 years. Link to comment
se_lang
Some states require a waiting period after a divorce before you can remarry. I know for Wisconsin it was 6 months which was not a problem for me since the K-1 took almost a year. Link to comment
Guest ShaQuaNew
Your divorced, which means you are now single. The only other thing you need in the US to make a lawful marriage is a willing partner of the opposite sex.... Link to comment
