More on the new visa facility

This morning, 8/15, is the first day of full IV operation. By 8:00AM many people had congregated outside the building, over 100 by then with more arriving by the minute. No soliciting is allowed outside the building, although I saw one salesperson in the crowd.

At 8:00AM guards call individual names, one by one, and give ticket to that person after checking the person's ID. An interviewee needs that ticket to get up to the 5th floor visa unit. An US citizen or LPR does not need a ticket to go to the ACS office.

Later in the morning it rained buckets and people came into the lobby.

This is looking more and more like it will be a good thing toward making the process much more efficient and comfortable....

King, thanks for the info, looks like there will be more comfort for those waiting........ hopefully the process in the interview part will yield more people being interviewed each day, in turn hastening the time to get to that point!!
